Fantastic service. Had the usual stressful feeling while waiting for a surfboard from SW France to be delivered to the Scottish highlands. Needn’t have worried , DHL straight to the door with top quality , 99% recyclable packaging , unmarked. Stoked. Last board I bought from Boardshop in the Uk was dinged and the packaging was terrible, that was this year 2021 too.
Can anyone help me? This company have taken £600 plus premium delivery charge of £70. They have not delivered and I just cannot get a response. Ive tried their chat, email and both UK and France numbers. Nothing back whatsoever. Looks like my son now wont get his birthday present. NOT GOOD!!!!
This company is borderline a scam! Refund should have taken 4 days and it’s now 14 days and still no refund!
Board arrived damaged and delivery was slow.
Customer service is the worse I’ve experienced with no concern for their poor customer service.
Avoid this company!
Ordered a 9ft NSP longboard through Akewatu (it was cheaper to pay the £55 shipping from France to the UK than buying the shorter "cheaper" version of the same board locally!).
Finding and buying the board on the site was really easy - plenty of filters to narrow down to exactly what you want, and the checkout process was quick and straightforward.
Shipping took just over a week (ordered late Sunday night, board arrived on Tuesday a week later), which is great considering the international shipping in the middle of global pandemic.
Packed really well in "Flexi Hex" and then an outer box, so no damage at all to the board.
Big props to the actual shop as well, who threw in a couple of cool stickers and a nice handwritten thank you note :)
Really happy with my purchase - I was a bit skeptical at first with ordering such a large and relatively fragile item internationally, but all my doubts were for nothing and I'd be more than happy to order from Akewatu again :)
Very helpful team, ordered 2 boards to the uk, one turned out to be out of stock, and was offered a better board for the same price, arrived within a week of ordering using standard delivery, very well packed and no damage to boards would 100% use again
Akewatu itself is a great business, customer service is top notch! However, its partners (who sell the products) offer a terrible service. This includes the individual shops who are slow to send out products and the deliver platform they use, namely Geodis. I ordered a board 3 weeks ago which is still yet to leave France for the UK. When asked when the board would be delivered the company said that it will most likely be next week (1 month since I ordered). In fairness to Akewatu, they refunded the £45 for delivery but the service overall has been far from good.
A platform for buying and selling surfboards. I bought a board through Akewatu. When I had a question I rang the mobile number on the webpage, they knew me. Payment through secure paypal is an option. Excellent packaging used to transport my board. I made the mistake during Corona times to pay for fast shipping, the board took 6 days to arrive (which is pretty good considering it traveled across the country!). Overall trust them. Great service.
