DO NOT USE ALAMO

We rented a car from Alamo at Copenhagen Airport and paid a deposit of nearly €600. After returning the car in good condition, the deposit was never refunded.

Alamo has acknowledged in writing that this was a technical error and promised to return the money with interest. Despite this, over 7 months have now passed and no refund has been made.

We have contacted customer service multiple times, both locally and internationally, and sent several formal notices. In most cases, we receive no response at all.

At this point, this is no longer a delay but a failure to return money that Alamo has already admitted is owed.
As the issue remains unresolved, we are now proceeding with formal legal action to recover the funds.

Very disappointing experience. Based on this, I cannot recommend this company.

Very unhappy with them!

Very unhappy with them!! Charged me 2 months after i returned their car. The Storebelt bridge was down and therefore after 2 hours of wait they let us through. The payment for Storebelt was 230 DKK and i was ok with that, but to charge me 300 DKK for administrative fee is crazy. We bought insurance of them also and we delivered the car back in 100% condition, but i guess there is no loyalty for customers, just charge them as much as possible. When you finish with them i recomend you close your creditcard immidiatly even before you return it.

WARNING!!

WARNING!!! Do not rent from this company. They run their business like a used-cars-dealer. When you exit the parking lot your garanti expire. I picked up a car and drove it home less than 10 km. Next day the car wouldn't start and it seemed like the computer in it was crashed. Call the so called "customer-service" than responded "its not our problem, the car drove when you left the rental office. We can not help you because if we did that, we could do nothing else that spend our time helping customers with our faulty cars".

One of the worst experience ever…

One of the worst experience ever renting a car. Stay away from this company.
I had rented a 7 seater car with a pick at the airport in Marseille.
When we arrived at the Alamo/enterprise agency at 23.30, they started telling us they had no car. After insisting I managed to get a 5 persons car to drive to my destination (meaning a couple of people had to take public transportation - not easy at that time).
For the last 2 days, I have been calling them several times to find out when I will get the 7 seater car I have reserved and paid for.
It is impossible to call the agency at the airport directly, you can only talk to a central customer service which can only email the agency at the airport as the agency at the airport is the only one that can find a solution for me!!! They keep telling me they have emailed the airport agency and they will call me back within minutes. I am still waiting to be called back!
Never seen such a crap service!!

An Admintrational charge of 35 pounds for one email notifying me of a parking fine and bus lane infringent totalling 70 pounds plus what ever the issuing council charges.. Alamo hide behind there extensive signed ageement that no one reads after a 10 hour transatlantic flight!! I suggest you read all the small print as this company will nickel and dime you even after challenging them with pure extortion! Not mentiong the death trap of a car they rented me with bald front tires whcih was not checked out, only in.. GO ELSEWHERE!!

BAD SERVICE

BAD SERVICE, LAZY STAFF
At the time of picking up the car, it was smooth and since we decided to stay longer we had to extend few more days via phone, OMG to get this done via call is impossible since the staff on the phone keep transfer us to one another and keep asking same questions until we had to speak and called 4 times , seems they have no clue how to do it or just lazy. They didnt sent me the final receipt until i have to call or email to get it .
My Deposit was not released after they deducted from the security deposit, definitely not until I sent them email to release it, but they admit they've released it the day they take the deposit. I was checking my account everyday and never had it released. I sent them email and they released it straight away and said it was done before winch i know it was untrue.

Rent a car at Copenhagen Airport.

Rent a car at Copenhagen Airport.
At the end of the lease, 216 euros were deducted from the bank account a week later for "speeding". after asking for proof of the speed limit, it turned out that he didn't have the proof, he made a refund, the money came back only after a week, but not 216, but 205 euros. 11 euros were simply stolen. he stopped replying to letters a long time ago. NOT RECOMMENDED

There's a huge scam going on here

There's a huge scam going on here. You drop off the car back at Alamo / Enterprise and the car is carefully inspected against the contract you were given. There's a small mark on the wheel that wasn't on the contract [nor was it caused by us] and the trusted Alamo employee measures it, says its within tolerance, says you don't need to worry as there'll be no charge. He smiles reassuringly and says he'll just make a note on the records so the next person isn't charged for the damage. What a decent guy. Knowing you're in a hurry he points you to the free bus stop back to the terminal and off we go to catch our flight. One hour later, whilst sitting waiting for the plane, the email lands from Alamo / Enterprise with a DKK5500 [£630] charge for damage to the vehicle. There was no damage to the vehicle! I could publish all the correspondence with Alamo / Enterprise but my advice is simple - don't ever ever use them. The correspondence we have had since demonstrates a very ugly side to an organisation that cannot be trusted. Save yourselves the hassle, avoid being scammed, rent your car elsewhere.

I rented a car from Alamo Weeze

I rented a car from Alamo Weeze, Germany. Although the pick up and drop off process was easy, they only accept a card payment. I got two traffic tickets and Alamo Enterprise charges you 30 euros for processing your data towards the authorities. So I ended up being charged on my card by Alamo the amount of 60 euros for the two fines. The fines that the authorities will charge me is 80 euros...

regular scam

Hired a car, after I returned was charged for some hair line scratches down passenger side. Nothing I could do. Annoyingly 2 weeks later I hired another car but this time did thorough inspection, found a number of marks not listed on their inspection sheet. Similar happened to a colleague.

SCAMMERS Required 10 000 EUR deposit.

They forgot to pick us up from the airport with the bus shuttle even though we were in time and left us waiting for 1 hour in 35 degrees celsius. They required a 10 000 EUR deposit which was not mentioned anywhere in the contract for a Kia Picanto and were very rude. I would avoid at all cost!

A very bad experience

A very, very bad impression made the Alamo company. I reserved a car through the rentalcar.com website and paid for it online. Then when I arrived at their office in Malta's airport, the office was closed ( although they were saying on the phone that somebody will wait for us ). Then we left to the hotel since nobody was in their office.

We decided to give up on the car. So we never used any car from them, but we paid for it and didn't refund the money.

We are very disappointed that we have such companies with low interest in making the client happy and caring just for their profit.

Scam

Took out all insurance possible. Charged 2000 dkk/300 e for a scratch on the tyre rim that was not visible. Clearly a scam - do not use this company!

Update: I was refunded after the European Car Rental Conciliation Service agreed with me! Yay!
