Everything was perfect
Everything was perfect. Friendly staff. Car was great. Quick and easy pickup and delivery.
alamo in denmark, total thieves, never again
We rented a car with alamo through rentalcars webpage. Alamo in denmark ended up charging for an upgrade and for an extra insurance coverage we especifically rejected (in person at the desk in copenhague). But they need us to use that car cause it was the only one with a gps (which we had requested) so after we rejected the upgrade they was it was for free anyways paying only 10eur per day for gps service. False. They ended up charging extra for several things and we are still getting charges. We ended up paying 3 times the preagreed price. Its dificult to find were to complain also. I sent emails to a couple of adresses including the office in billund that keeps charging us but no answer or explanation whatsoever. Alamo never again for me, thanks
Great service
We recently rented a car from Alamo CPH through Expedia. The person behind the counter, a very pleasant guy named Niikolaj, couldn't find our reservation, nevertheless, he honored Expedia's promised price and even added a perk as compensation.
Thanks Nikolaj from Alamo/Enterprise in CPH airport!
Worst office ever
Worst office ever! I rented a car for 1-1/2 brought it back with a small scratch which i was not sure i caused because i did not check the car at check our and the scratch did not affect paint job at all . Manager was suppose to investigate, never received any feedbacks except a charge on my amex for the scratch for 4,000 dkk (550,00 euros) i have been renting worldwide and never been treated like this!!!! Stay away from it!!!!
Sat Nav goes 'missing'!
Wow I wish we had read the reviews before renting a car from here!
My partner left his satellite navigator worth 100 pounds or more on the dash when returning the car in the Copenhagen airport, he contacted Alamo via email the same day telling them about it, he didnt hear anything back, we waited a week and then telephoned, they said they would look for it in the lost and found and ring us back, again they didnt get back to us. So we contacted them again, they went and had a look and said it wasnt there. I asked what they thought had happened to it ? The 'supervisor' told me all her staff are trustworthy so the problem must have been on our end. What kind of service is that!
That is no service at all and I would very much question the honesty of some of their staff, we wont be using that company in the future.
Non-smoking car stinking of cigarettes.

Instead I got a VW Golf Stationcar stinking of cigarettes with disgusting dirty seats.
"We have no way of controlling if somebody is smoking in the cars, since we are all smokers and cannot smell it" was the explanation...
The car was low on oil and kept complaining in the dashboard, so I had to deal with that.

Do not trust this company
Do not trust this company. We were charged $650 for damage that occurred to the vehicle after we handed it in. We've had at least 20 communications - that turned out to be a waist of time! Be ware! Copenhagen airport, Denmark - you will get ripped off as well! Bad service, no response and not to be trusted at all!
Alamo Copenhagen
The following review reflects my opinion of my experience of renting a car from Alamo in Copenhagen.
I flew to Copenhagen in January 2018 as I was attending my mother’s funeral in Malmo. As I needed a car to drive to the cemetery, I decided to rent a car. Having previously booked all my car hire almost exclusively through either Avis or Hertz, this time I decided to book via Expedia and found a good deal with Alamo at Copenhagen airport.
I had never used Alamo before, but was of course aware of them. Alamo is a US car rental company and is today owned by Enterprise Holdings, the company that also owns Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Enterprise CarShare. Enterprise Holdings is owned by the Taylor family. The word Alamo has links to America’s cowboy heritage.
When I arrived at the Alamo counter, I was greeted by Stefan, who proceeded to talk through the car that I had booked. Inevitably, this involved trying to sell add-on services to boost the rental fee which seems to be standard practice (google “6 Confessions Of An Alamo Car Rental Agent"). As I had taken out car hire excess insurance, I declined all the add-on insurance offered by Stefan.
Stefan insisted I would need winter tyres, as I was travelling to Malmo – in fact, Swedish law requires winter tyres to be fitted in wintry conditions (when there is snow, ice, slush or frost on the road). Weather conditions were mild and forecast to remain so, and the car itself was only booked for 36 hours, so I declined.
Stefan then told me it was a legal requirement that I pay for additional roadside assistance protection since I was taking the car to Sweden. I was not aware of what the legal requirements were, so accepted this, but I have subsequently become aware that this too was optional and should have been declined.
I was then offered the opportunity to rent satellite navigation equipment by Stefan – since I knew where I was going, I declined this option. This offer was made to me whilst the keys to rental car I had booked were on the desk in front of Stefan. When I eventually got to the car, I saw it had factory-fitted satellite navigation as standard. Classy move.
The car that Alamo provided me with was a white Nissan Qashqai (registration BV27534). When I arrived at the car itself, this was parked in a narrow space in a dimly lit indoor car park. I was short of time but quickly checked the bodywork for any obvious damage before setting off. With no damage spotted other than that already marked in the rental agreement, I was on my way on my short and uneventful journey to Malmo.
During the rental period which lasted 28 hours, I drove a grand total of 90 km. I drove to the hotel to drop off my luggage, parking in a wide bay with no cars alongside. I then drove to the cemetery to attend the service, parking in a near-empty car park with no vehicles alongside. Overnight, the car was parked in the same wide bay at the hotel indoor car park, with no cars alongside, and the following day I drove the car back to Copenhagen airport.
When I returned the car to Alamo, the check in person (Noemi) immediately began at the rear right side of the vehicle and promptly “discovered” damage to the plastic rim above the rear wheel (slightly detached from the body work) and I was then informed that I would be liable for the repair cost, set at a minimum of 3000 Danish kroner. It was described as a hit-and-run accident. I am 99% certain that this damage did not occur during the time the car was in my possession. Whilst I am insured, I would like to share my one and only experience of renting a car from Alamo.
The memories of the death and funeral of my mother will forever be tainted by my experience of renting a car from Alamo.
Charges after return of car
The car was fine, service good. I an unhappy about the handling of a parking fine, which they charged my to card, without consultation.
And on top of that, they added "ADMINISTRATION FEE" which is 50% of the parking fine.
I got terrible service from Alamo...
I booked a Alamo car through Carflexi.com and went to collect the car at Copenhagen Car rent centre. The desk service lady greeted me with a cold look and asked for my papers, passport and driving license, which was issued by Danish police recently. After checking my booking, the lady called the police to check if my license is legal (why not eligible?) and got confirmed by the Danish police that I am holding a valid license. She then asked me if I drove before coming to Denmark. I said yes (I am 42 years old), but stopped more than 15 years.
She then said she couldnot rent me the car as I need to hold a license for at least a year!!!!!!!! Why did not Alamo publish this requirement at the booking site Carflexi.com??? I paid some premium fees and additional insurances and requested to get the refund. However the lady said she had nothing to do with Carflexi????? If so why Alamo allow booking through Carflexi??
Furthermore, it cost me time and transport to and from their collection centre to my home in Copenhagen...
I am seeking the refund from Carflexi now, but really disappointed with the Alamo desk lady's service and attitude. A really sucked service!!!!!!!!!! and I will never get anything to do with Alamo again!!!!!
**** Alamo is a SCAM car rental …
**** Alamo is a SCAM car rental cheating Danes & foreigners in Denmark*
We rented a Renault scenic in Blue color from Copenhagen Airport on 29th March & Return it on 1st April.
I saw a charge of DKK 4000 (595 USD) to my account. I called them and they said they detected apx 100 euros for Sweden pass though we never traveled to Sweden and informed them while returning the car.
Further they said DKK 3000 as been charged for damage to the car, where as there was not even a single scratch to the car. We also did the cleaning through vacume cleaner while returning the car.
This is really a fraud company who are ripping their client off.
They thought we flied back to germany and will never return back to Denmark, but that's not the case. I have a house here and I will first report them to do Danish Compliant board for car rentals and secondly my friend who is working for Danish News paper Berlingske will post an article to warn others.
We will get back the money since we had a private insurance who will cover the cost, but we would definitely uncover their real face of making money by cheating clients and generating money from the other insurance companies which is their real business.
This is another example of typical thief British companies doing business in Denmark.
Really bad service at Alamo LAX, however good service at Alamo phone service
Dear Alamo,
We rented a car for two days, and we're happy with service and the car. we decided to stay extra time and tried to extend the rental period with eight days. We called Alamo and they told us, that there was a problem with our card so we had to change it (we called the bank, and they told us that it was MasterCard system that wasn't working correctly). Alamo promised us that we could go to the store and change the card. We were promised the same rate. When we arrive to Alamo LAX the manager AGGRESSIVELY told us that there was no way he could do that. He offered us a rate that was twice what we were promised. He was mad and didn't wanna listen to anything. We booked online and got the rate we were promised by Alamo phone service.
Waited 3 hours to get a car that we already have resevered and paid for from home.
De had a very disapointed experince yesterday at Alamo in San Francisco airport. From home de had renhed a mustang corvertible or simular car too our roadtrip in the states.
First we stand in a long line to do all the paperwork. After that we should go out and pick up the car we wanted to rent - yes finally we could go - but no now we got disapointed. The company had overbooked convertible so we had to wait around an hour to get a var they said. So back in the line after 10 others disapointed customers who also waited for a convertible. When de finally got our var we had used 3 hours in a garage and had to rush to first day roadtrip.
The best thing for the firm was the kind employe.
