Public Humiliation by Management..Unacceptable

On June 24th, 2026, at Aldi Higher Bridge Street, I was publicly humiliated. The manager shouted at us for a minor trolley issue, and when I questioned her aggressive approach, security loudly banned me in front of everyone. This was unacceptable, insulting, and disgraceful. No customer should be treated this way. I’m awaiting their response, but this behavior demands serious attention.

The salads in boxes were absolutely horrible! The cooked beetroot vacuum pack was a rather nasty brownish and was completely tasteless. We could not eat any of it and threw it onto the compost heap.
It is very cheaply priced, so I suppose you get what you pay for.
The staff are very helpful and pleasant, and the store is clean and bright.

Helpful staff (lol!)

The tabs on the pull-open tins often break off leaving the tin almost unopenable. The tab on the foil covers over the powders in the top of curry sauces are so small they are very difficult to get hold of.
Had to move the uncollected empty packaging out of the way as usual.
Staff member on the till helpfully(!) filled in the question about staff service on the card reader before I had time to read it.

We,re Aldi regulars and can get 75% of our food shop from there without too many hitches. We dont expect perfection in availability but accept it as the price you pay for decent discount levels against other chains. Quality is competitive but savings can come with "caveats", shall we say.
The quality of the product can be let down by the poor manufacturing quality of the product. We have just thrown away our fourth bag of crisps from a 30x multipack bought last week. We must have thrown away DOZENS of bags due to split seams on the foil bag. They have either been split in the main bag or split when trying to take them out of said bag - the bags seem to be "stuck" to the main outer bag and split open when removed. This is just wasting our hard-earned income and unacceptable. Try getting any sensible feedback from Aldi and you hit a brick wall. It seems "discount" shopping has its hidden costs. Worked it out and we are better off buying this particular product from Asda and getting a far more consistent quality.
Sorry Aldi, do something about it!

Aldi

Aldi - West Wycombe, Bucks
Today was the first time in many moons that I have seen 3 staffed tills open. Still, the store is quite disorderly, with several items out of stock or not placed out on shop floor, items poorly of nt priced and bead-eyed security, suspiciously looking at specific customers as if they are theives. The other day, one cashier, wiped her nose and touched my shopping which I was not happy about. It is just not good enough, but again, neither are the other supermarkets, these days!

disappointing quality

I've been a customer of Aldi forever, never had issues with food, however, I bought some waterproof hiking shoes for £14.99, thought they were a bargain. within a few months they have gone in holes. I contacted the online chat, and, even with the barcode number, without a receipt they won't do anything about it. Terrible quality, however, I will still buy food.

I want to say that the young lady assistant at the self check was so helpful and cheery and packed all my shopping for me today! She was really so polite and said it was no bother and I appreciated that very much. It makes me want to shop at your Johnstone store more often!

Distracted staff

I’m fed up of the staff not marking down the reduced items when they go through the till at Aldi Dereham. Many times now I’ve picked up items with the 30 or 50% off sticker for short shelf life only to later find I’ve been charged full price. If they focused on serving the customer & not having inappropriate conversations with each other through those ridiculous Madonna head sets, they might make less mistakes.

I just wanted to make you aware of the…

I just wanted to make you aware of the terrible service I received in your silsden (Keighley road bd20) store tonight. Most of the self serve tills were unusable because the older maleember of staff had clearly left his post for far too long. This is not the first time I have observed this in this store when this member of staff is working. Now I am also aware that staff have to multitask between operating the tills and stacking the shelves but I do wonder how this member of staff is able to get away with abandoning his post and positioning himself somewhere in the supermarket where he can't even see the tills.
When he did appear he then seemed to think his priority was to fix the unmanned tills with no people on rather than the ones with customers waiting with issrs. After a while of waiting for him to come over and being ignored by another member of staff who walked passed me I had enough so I tried to move to the manned till. At this point the older lady had decided to close the only manned till. I asked what was going on and she told me very sarcastically that it was obviously the green till next to hers that I needed to go too. With no staff member on. I was then approached by the manager who asked me what my problem was. When I tried to explain he kept cutting me off and saying yeah but he's busy sir you can see he's working on that till sir. In a very exaggerated but sarcastic manner. I just told him to leave it and I would complain online instead. Seems the priorities( to serve the customers) has gone completely out of the window. I have actually worked as a mystery shopper for Aldi in the past so I am fully aware that they were not dealing with that situation in the manner expected by head office. Such a shame because my experience in that store and of the other staff has always been a good one. From past experience this isn't the first time I have observed an issue with the older male member of staff and the self serve tills and it looks like from other reviews I am not the only one.

So frequently we find that several things we would normally buy weekly are not re stocked for weeks. Simple things like tinned salmon, quiche, coconut yoghurt, surely the job of a super market is to keep their products in stock. Back to Tesco, where at least we can get whatever we need or want!

Aldi Burnage on Kingsway

Aldi Burnage on Kingsway - Terrible customer service from a girl working there and the manager Thomas. I don't think I will be going there again. ALDI need to have better accountability so that the staff actually improve.

I am a male in my 70s and have just returned from a aldl in Kilmarnock. It was on the 15/6/2026 at 8.15 pm and headed for the self pay area. A young man in his 20? asked if i was paying by card or cash. He had short black hair and wore glasses. He wheeled my trolley to a machine and said he will help me pack pointing out a weaknes in my bag and told me to watch. He ended up doiny all the packing and was very courtious . As far as i believe thats the people we need in dealing with the public. Too often i see some staff ignoring you, pretend they dont see you and others playing with mobile phones. The person which dealt with myself had customer priority first and its only fair that people can be made aware some staff value there job and are willing to help/assist customers. My decision to award 5 stars was easy.

Racist staff member on the tills

I am extremely disappointed with a staff representative Sarah she has blonde hair and short pixie haircut, she works in the store Aldi Swindon, drove road. My husband, infant and I had just finished our shop and headed to the tills. As we are waiting to unload our shopping, there was a customer ahead of us who Sarah was dealing with. Instead of serving the customer, we could clearly hear a gossip like chat between the two. Sarah did not continue scanning the customers items instead spoke to the customer for good 5 minutes till she finally managed scan the items and customer finally paid and we managed to load all our shopping on the till area. As we were now at the front of the till Sarah had no courtesy of apologising or acknowledging the delay. Instead as we were laying out our shopping bags in our cart she asked us to lift the bags to make sure there was nothing init or under. (Indirectly hinting that we could be stealing?) I would understand her concerns if she was checking everyone’s bags, but the customer she checked out before us had a bag and she never checked her bag. Once we completed our transaction I waited to see how she handled the next customer who had their own shopping bag too and witnessed no bag checking either. Both of these customers were white and we were brown. This is diabolical behaviour Aldi. I cannot stand that you have a racist customer service representative working with you on the tills. We have shopped here soo many times and I’ve never witnessed such a thing. As I walked out of Aldi, I wanted to head back into the shop to discuss this with a manager but my husband had to get back to to work from his lunch break and did not have the time. I discussed this with my husband and he actually explained that in the past the same issue had occurred, and he had put a complaint through, and Aldi apologised at the time. ALDI, what’s happened today is very discriminatory and unacceptable. History repeating itself! You should seriously sack such staff.
