Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 756 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Customers frequently expressed dissatisfaction with product quality, noting fresh produce often being rotten or going off quickly, and other items changing in taste, containing excessive fat, or having packaging issues. Many also reported negative experiences with customer service, describing staff as unhelpful, rude, or treating them poorly, especially when dealing with complaints or returns. Conversely, some customers noted positive interactions with staff, finding them helpful and friendly. While some people appreciated the good value and prices, others observed increasing costs. A few also found certain products, including middle aisle items or specific produce, to be of good quality.

Not a vegetarian product.

Just want to make shoppers aware that an item they are selling is NOT Vegetarian. The Foodie Market Apricot and Almond mix have SHELLAC in it. Shellac is NOT a vegetarian product.
It should not be used as a vegetarian item. According to the vegetarian society and the food standards agency this is NOT permitted or approved to be classed as vegetarian. Shellac comes from the Lac Bug if anyone’s unsure. If people are not likely to read the ingredients they trust the V symbol on the front as being accurate and honest they have no idea they have eaten this product. How many other ingredients are they using that they are declaring as vegetarian that aren’t. They need better informed staff tk be making decisions like this because they clearly have no food knowledge. I have been a vegetarian for over 40 years and have no desire to eat anything like this shellac product and I’m sure there are many others that agree with me. It has been removed from vegetarian society approval list and they should be adhering to these standards to satisfy these requirements.
If this were an allergen they decided not to mention they would have a potential death and massive law suit on their hands. Food labelling is there for a reason.
If they are adding shellac to their foods then they should REMOVE the V sign from the box. They are mislabelling this item. Have contacted Aldi but not really bothered. They replied with consumers can make their own choice if they want to eat it. THATS NOT THE POINT I’m sure people will decide, but the label is misleading and misinforming.

Sell items with 1 year warranty but if its faulty after a couple uses don't allow a return or refund when it breaks. Say to contact manufacturer who send you back to Aldi. Then make up silly responses to contact random other companies in X messages. Don't buy tat from the middle isle it don't last

visited aldi clock tower chelmsford on monday morning, had 2 full basket loads of goods and went to self checkout but the lady said she would open till 8 if we go over there, we put all our groceries on the conveyor belt and a man come over and said he would open the till in 5 mins 😩after 3 mins another customer got in the queue behind us. i then said to the guy who’s name is S- - - - why he is not opening the till and said he would be at least another 5 minutes as needed to unload a pallet out the back i said i wanted to see the manager and im not happy he told me i would have to wait in a cocky way, i expect if the store continues to treat paying customers in this way, people will shop elsewhere, i left all my shopping on the conveyor belt and went to M&S opposite and as usual received excellent service. not sure if i will shop at this store again if this is there attitude etc.

More than disgusted!!

OK then aldi seen as you dont have an email for customer services anymore...

I've just visited your store this morning and I am very disappointed with a certain member of your staff.

The aisle was blocked with a Crate which 2 members of team were putting stock out from. So I politely asked one of the members of staff who was about to put some stock in the fridge if I could please get past as there was a customer browsing at the other side. I understand she had a job to do however she didn't say a word to me but stood up hardly moved and gave me the most disgusted look like I'd just asked her to kiss my shoe. Her attitude stinks as this is not the first time I have had a problem in store with this woman, I have previously witnessed her being racist on the shop floor a few months back talking in a Chinese accent to her work colleague who was laughing with her. Which I thought was bang out of order anyway for me to then go down the next aisle and see a Chinese family shopping.

As someone who has had 15 years work experience in retail 10 of which are in management this kind of behaviour and attitude from a woman who looks old enough to know better is completely unacceptable. She has zero customer service skills and should not be on the shop floor with an attitude like that. How she still has her job is beyond me as I only pop in for bits through the week now and stopped shopping here on a regular due to the lack of customer service skills most of the staff dont seem to have in your store. Zero understanding of my son who has profound autism was the first reason.

For reference the woman is tall and skinny short reddish brownish hair glasses and a face like a lemon.

Chartists Way, Morley, Leeds LS27 9ET

I look forward to hearing back from you or maybe not at all if this is the service provided in store I'm presuming customer service is at the bottom of the list of priorities.

Abysmal customer service (should be no customer service!

Aldi seemed to have decided you will shop the way they want you too. Many items are aimed at the bigger families which I understand BUT I should consider the smaller shopper too.

I was a regular shopper at Aldi, Kings Hill since it openedbut nowadays rarely go in. I do my shopping but because it’s in a basket I’m not allowed to go through service till inevitably there’s only one service still working and usually that has turned red as I approach. Forced to go to self service, which I detest I often see the till reopen and when I query it I’ve been told that’s only for trolley customers.

The second time I was told this I emptied my basket and walked out leaving it on the self service area. I went down the road to Lidl’s where I received the service that I expect.

I’m desperately trying to give Aldi a chance so I used them this weekend to purchase barbecue bits. The lamb kebabs are rough, synthetically mint flavoured, and most definitely ultra processed whipped up lamb remnants… just awful. Sausages much the same, the texture is just dreadful, they actually taste like blended frankfurters. The wine is better but the meat is appalling. Also hardly any organic options…

Staff customer service is 0,and the security is worse, the staff themselves are the one stealing from the store and then racially profilling an innocent shopper as the thief according to an old staff,be carefull when you carry stuff from another store, they only search coloured people while the real thieves made away with their stuff, well street store is the worst in kent area for wrong acusation of theft.

Parking fine to genuine customer. Will never shop from someone who don't trust the customers

I was a genuine customer, shop only 35 minutes and got a parking fine!
It's absolutely ridiculous and insane! Wasting my time to appeal and dispute. I will no longer shop at any Aldi it's not the way how you do business!

Aldi, I will help to spread the word out I think this is what you wanted. I will not buy from someone who don't trust their own customers.

ALDI ARE DISCRIMINATORY TO OWNER…

ALDI ARE DISCRIMINATORY TO OWNER TRAINED SUPPORT DOGS WHICH IS ILLEGAL UNDER THE EQUALITY RIGHTS ACT 2010

I was forced to leave a Local ALDI Store when another customer was Warned by me not to pat my dog as she's a working Dog, She Barked to alert me then sat down, I've recorded every visit to shops and She's Muzzle trained, She's trained to Alert me by Barking AND BLOCKING, If people approach from My Blind spots and If I'm distracted which also helps With my Complex PTSD By stopping me Panic, after the Person walked away I was accosted by a Manager who came from behind me and Made me subsiquently Panic, She Knew Nothing about The Equalities act and Niether DO Aldi Head office, Say they only accet Guide Dogs and Support Dogs, My Dog Is an Owner trained support dog and is reconised as such by Law, So ALDI WIL ILLEGALLY Discriminate against you if thier Law Ignorant staff DONT LIKE YOUR DOG or thier Training, as in their Expert Opinion your Dogs not a trained Support dog, Even though the Law defines it as such

Quote after my complaint to ALDI UK head office

"Thanks for your patience and sorry for the delay in coming back to you.

Unfortunately we are unable to allow your dog entry to store due to how the dog reacts to staff and members of the public.

We appreciate that your dog has been trained to alert you to people behind you due to your existing medical issues, and to bark at people coming towards you, however this leads to staff and customers feeling unsafe in store.

We have a duty of care whilst people are visiting our store, and this includes people feeling safe.

As advised, we do allow guide dogs in store as well as support dogs, however if they display behaviours that make others feel unsafe then we must ensure that we act in the interests of everyone.

I understand that this is disappointing and not the outcome that you were hoping for and for that we apologise.

The store is always willing to assist customers where they can, and should you need support whilst in our store this can be arranged.

Again, I’m sorry that we have had to make this decision and do hope that you understand.

Kind Regards
