Looking at 756 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Customers frequently expressed dissatisfaction with product quality, noting fresh produce often being rotten or going off quickly, and other items changing in taste, containing excessive fat, or having packaging issues. Many also reported negative experiences with customer service, describing staff as unhelpful, rude, or treating them poorly, especially when dealing with complaints or returns. Conversely, some customers noted positive interactions with staff, finding them helpful and friendly. While some people appreciated the good value and prices, others observed increasing costs. Impossible to navigate & Appalling customer service

By far, the worst shopping experience you'll ever have. Aldi head office are fully aware of the appalling and frankly outrageous issues in their store in Warwick. Stock control is non existent as they are constantly low in stock, yet the aisles are regularly barricaded by huge crates while enormous oversized tank trolleys block customer access to products, often provoking confrontation. For someone using a regular shopping basket, it is almost impossible to navigate through the store. Aldi head office most definitely do not care about customer experience, so long as they make profits. That's why they are the 'only' supermarket to have tanks for trolleys so that customers are encouraged to fill them up. I have complained to them previously about the fights that routinely break out between customers. Their response was always aggressive and abusive.

£1.00 PER HAIR COMPENSATION

Contacted Aldi customer service today to relay my experiences over their products covering the last two days. I regularly shop at Aldi's and despite noting the rising costs over the last 12 months or so, do like their products. I regularly purchase their Greek Honey Yoghurt and allowing for the hot weather, made a one off purchase of their white chocolate lollies. I more shop for the family but given the hot weather saw one lolly remaining and decided to grab it! Enjoying it and down to the last bit when - eek!! A long hair came out of the cream. I was shocked and then on reflection threw it away and looked on it as just one of those things. Last night, I opened the honey pot and again, cooling and refreshing with humid, hot weather and then, a great long dark hair sprung forth. So, two products from Aldi and both containing hair - two nights running. The combined cost of both items, just over £3.00. I contacted Aldi today and on explaining, and deciding to provide a photograph of the yoghurt, I was placed on hold and advised that compensation is due, when I eventually provided the p'graph, which I did and that I am due the sum of.........£5.00 (voucher) to spend in Aldi. So the very basic calculation offered by Aldi is £1.00, per hair and argumentatively, the yoghurt invader was a big thick hairy hair - wish I could upload. I am disgusted by how little Aldi value such a serious breach of hygiene/health & safety of their products and I confirmed that I have shopped at Aldi for numerous years without no qualms/complaints and often use three of their larger bags - if they could be bothered to ask I would provide evidence of my regular shopping and purchasing sum to show I am a regular. So to obtain a reasonable sum of compensation, I would need to find numerous hairs in their products! Thank you Aldi - many of friends/family looked down on your establishment and I was the lone voice who argued on your behalf. I should have listened to the masses. I concede it can happen to any product but your derisory offer can sit alongside the dispensed hairy items.

Rotten potatoes

Rotten potatoes. Mouldy tomatoes. But it’s all okay as Aldi have removed the customer contact mail that I used to address complaints to. So, now they get no complaints! Buy cheap, throw half away. Waste of my hard earned money.

Helpful staff

My car broke down in the car park at the Bramley, Rotherham branch and my phone had died to contact the AA. Paula was an absolute star she arranged a charger to charge my phone, put my shopping in the chiller and even got me a chair to sit and wait for the AA to arrive. I can't praise Paula enough for her help.

I went to the New Southgate Aldi store…

I went to the New Southgate Aldi store London and brought a watermelon and I was really looking forward to eating it especially as the weather is so hot. I chopped only an hour later and I am disgusted. The melon was all soft and smelt off it literally went everywhere over my worktop as it was so soft and not even any seeds inside..i took one biteand the taste was disgusting. It cost me £1.99 and I had to throw it away couldnt even salvage any of it. Never again will I buy any melons from there. I couldn't take it back because as soon as I chopped it on newspaper it literally went all over and all squashed and gooey and stank. It was obviously stale and unedible. This store is disgusting wont be buying from there again

I have never written a review about a supermarket before but I just want to let Aldi know that today 8/7 me and my husband went to the Anerley store in London se20 and the cashier Yemi was so lovely. Very smiley, personable and friendly. Best experience we’ve ever had in a supermarket. I hope he gets the credit he deserves. Manager material I think!

A newly built Aldi opened near me last…

A newly built Aldi opened near me last year and I was so looking forward to it, the first two weeks it was good, very good there were loads of staff about and they were all very friendly and helpful, the store stocked the Aldi range of gluten free products.
Then it all went down hill, they stopped the Gluten free range in this store, suddenly there were hardly any staff during the day and the quality of the food I purchased seemed to be worse and worse, the fresh Fish started smelling off as soon as I opened the pack, the meat started smelling a bit old when I opened the pack.
I tried doing 2Good2Go from there but it was such a late pick up time (9.30pm) and it felt so unsafe as a woman to be stuck hanging around in the dark of the winter nights waiting for pick up time, plus the endless bags of salad, and bread in the boxes that one night I decided after counting 8 bags of salad in my box to just leave it there in the store and I've not done a 2Good2go from that store since.
Late night at the store is awful, there are only two members of staff and a manager, the manager you only see as he runs backwards and forwards between internal doors, and the two staff members are frantically trying to get some kind of work done out the back, they are not at all friendly and I'd go so far as to say they can be quite intimidating, if you need them to process the 30% off stickers on items. Personally I don't feel very safe inside a near empty store so late at night with next to no visible staff around, its weird and off putting.
I've stopped shopping there as I don't feel I am the customer they want.

Aldi provide a Too Good to Go service…

Aldi provide a Too Good to Go service for left over items of food.
In general compared to Lidl, they provide a very poor choice and service.
They cancelled my previous 3 visits and on the fourth visit, all the contents were 2 x bags of mouldy corriander, 5 x bage of mouldy lettice, and 2 x packs of rotten Advocardos.......
I think these choices are down to the staff on duty and leave the customers with unsuitable items at the Ramsgate branch in Hardress Street.....so people beware of this branchas you end up with rubbish, but at Lidl you always get a very good choice and food that you can use.

regards Steve

Very abrupt comments poor customer relations staff and their systems systems

We have shopped at the Coleshill store B46 since it opened several years ago. Over a six week period we purchased two different vacuum packed fresh fish. The first smoked Basa ,second Hake on two different occasions . Both were off ,smelling disgusting , both times the staff said the vacuum must have had a pin hole ,very matter of fact . On the second occasion I persisted, had full refund £3.49p rather than replacement . I informed the section manager that I would email head office . Email sent to customer services @ aldi, auto reply said they no longer use the address . I decided to ring head office only 6miles from their Coleshill . I could not believe it when I was speaking to someone in South Africa , he took details of my complaint as he could not find my email I had resent . I was so disgusted I travel back to the store that afternoon and managed to speak to the store manager. Had to speak to him by the tills and he had his attention on everything but my conversation . Every question he answered well you had a refund , I gave him a copy of my email and asked him to contact head office and would he send me a response on my email . His comment was very negative and they would contact the fish supplier if complete boxes were off and head office would probably not reply. That comment was accurate and I have heard nothing nor will we the company again . Mr G Croft

Rancid chicken

Bought a pack of boneless chicken drumsticks from wellington aldi in telford.
Prepared all veg for a stir fry opened chicken it wasn't just off it actually smelled the room out it was putrid.
I phoned Aldi complaints who advised me take back packaging to the store which I did today.
Was treated like a scammer no apology just given exactly the cost of the chicken purchased.
Never mind the ruined meal "the manager" even needed permission to refund that.
Never again will I shop there no customer service whatsoever. Disgusting attitude.

I received a gift a jug which was…

I received a gift a jug which was faulty. I took it back to my local store as there was a crack in the handle. I had no receipt. There was no barcode because it was a gift to be fair. The lady at the desk of the deputy manager were polite, but because there was no customer service desk, I had to go to one of the tills and subsequently held up the other shoppers again and again they said there was nothing they could do. They didn’t recognise the product and I couldn’t have any kind of refund even though they probably could’ve looked it up on their system just wouldn’t have it. I thanked them politely but then was ridiculed and laughed at by the other customers who I had held up. This was incredibly Embarrassing. I then rang head office customer complaints and they said the same thing never ever have. I come across a company where it is clearly obvious you have a faulty item which to be fair if I’d have added anything to the jug the handle would’ve snapped off. You think that they would be interested in a faulty item which they are selling to the public, I will never ever set foot inside an Audi store again if this is how they treat their customers.

Bought Crane waterproof training shoes…

Bought Crane waterproof training shoes . 2nd time worn on wet grass ,the dye from the shoes or insoles has stained my feet blue. Stained my bedroom carpet and 2 weeks later my toe nails are still blue. Complained with photos, videos, phone calls, emails, returned the shoes for them to investigate, they will present every barrier and denial from their customer services and are really appalling. They suggest it will be my fault. They will investigate internally for 6 to 8 weeks and I will not be informed of the results!. We spend at least £3k to £5k per annum with Aldi for about 18 years, so about £54k minimum spent but they really do not care when things go wrong. Awful customer service, awful store, avoid!

Staff Keeping Special Buys For Themselves

Went to Burscough, Tarleton, Wigan and Skelmersdale Aldi this week on Thursday to get the portable fans on their special buy. Burscough store is notorious for staff holding stuff back so that they can buy it themselves and true to form, when I asked where the fans were, they said that they had them out back because they couldn’t scan them. Really? Tarleton said they never got them. Utter rubbish. Wigan said they sold out almost immediately which I find hard to believe. And Skelmersdale said they had some on the stock checker but in store they said they were sold out. When I said it says there are some in store they said it’s obviously a mistake. I thought staff weren’t allowed to buy things unless they shopped like a normal customer? Tried to send a formal complaint to Aldi but you have to complain to the manager of the store. Which kind of defeats the purpose when there’s a problem with the store. I’m going to avoid them from now on. Prices are better elsewhere anyway.
