Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 32 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently faced unexpected parking fines arriving years after their initial visit, often accompanied by stressful and aggressive debt collection letters demanding large sums. Consumers strongly struggled with the unhelpful appeals process, noting that the company completely ignored valid evidence or proof of tickets purchased on site. Some reviewers were not happy with the confusing payment machines and the strict time limits enforced immediately upon entering the car park. Visitors also mentioned that these excessive penalty charges severely impacted their household budgets and ruined otherwise pleasant holiday experiences.

Contact owners to try and make a change !!

Zero stars .. this company has made me dread parking in harlyn beach. It’s such a nice beach but the constant fear of watching every minute !! For info though.. these guys are not the owners, they are just management. People should start writing to the owners to inform them of the difficult, unreasonable management company they have signed up with. This man now has over £2.7m in his bank (2024 public domain accounts) of innocent people’s money, how can the owners of this car park be happy with this!!

Update Alliance is trying to take my review down. I will take the telephone number off but you can find this in the public domain. Alliance are not the owners - Prideaux Place is so all your concerns should be directed to the owners

What a bunch of shysters!

What a bunch of shysters Alliance Parking is! Back in May 2024, my son borrowed my car and took it to Cornwall. He overstayed by a few minutes in an AP car park. I then received, as the registered car owner, the usual demand either for payment, or if I wasn't driving, the name of the driver. I responded within their deadline with details of my son's Polish address. That's the last either of us heard about it until a Debt Collector's demand dated 23rd October and addressed to me arrived on 31st October with the usual threats of escalation, with a deadline for payment "14 days after the date of this letter". The letter says "Date of posting this demand", however it arrived 8 days after that date, so I think we can assume that this is a lie.
Earlier this year we had another bad experience with AP who demanded £100 for use of the boat launching slipway at Padstow Harbour; this was sorted out by the authorities, but left a nasty taste. It's time that Cornwall County Council reviewed its relationship with these people. They might be a Cornish company, but they do a huge amount of damage to Cornwall's reputation. Not many companies can boast 98% 1-star reviews on Trustpilot. Most of those would be No-Star reviews if that option were available.
A quick look at Companies House website tells us that the person controlling AP is ************ (name deleted at request of controlling person) who appears to have connections with a security firm. A check of the company he uses to demand, threaten and collect money that may or may not be owed, Trace Debt Collection UK, reveals a murky stack of holding companies all registered at 145 Leadenhall Street.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK; WHY IS THE DVLA ALLOWED TO GIVE OUT OUR PERSONAL DATA TO ANY DODGY TRADER WHO ASKS FOR IT, HAVING SIMPLY PAID FOR MEMBERSHIP OF THE "INTERNATIONAL PARKING COMMUNITY"

I received a PCN in Dec 2021

I received a PCN in Dec 2021. I appealed this as it was only 3 mins after the grace period and I explained in the letter of Appeal this was due to an upset stomach and needing to use the public convenience. They claimed they never received my letter of appeal and that it would not of been accepted anyway because appeals were only via email. After 1 year of sending the letter of appeal I recieved another letter requesting payment. I then went in to a conversation via email stating I had appealed this charge and sent a copy to them via email and explained that since I had not heard from them the matter was closed. They stated no the appeal was no successful and I needed to pay. I again via email tried to reason with them. They then said they would not converse with me any further and I needed to pay and court action would result in me ignoring them and that I would loose anyway so best to pay. I heard nothing more. Now 18 months later and nearly a full 3 years after the PCN I get a debt recovery letter. They will not reply to my contacts I can not get a response from the Independent appeals people. They obviously all work together. Alliance Parking a shameful and pathetic excuse as a reasonable company.

Harlyn bay car park.

Harlyn bay car park.
Cut my foot whilst walking back up the beach so had to clean it off and dry before putting shoes back on.
Photo evidence sent and no help whatsoever!!!
Might be better putting large signs up about reg recognition so people can pay more before exiting if they accidentally overstay.
Complete and utter crooks.

' Highway Robbers '

Unfortunately I cannot give a lower score or write exactly what I think about Alliance Parking UK , they should be renamed as ' Highway Robbers UK '
Cornwall Council for some reason allow this company to still monitor their carparks & still allow them to rip off & rob their tourists & probably locals as well. 10th October 2024 Trevone Beach car park - we had to make an un-scheduled stop here as my wife who has to take medication for a medical condition needed to use the toilet - it was early morning and the car park was virtually empty - we parked for just 12 minutes & left - Like many other people, we received a parking fine of £100 , reduced to £60 if paid by a certain date - I appealed this with no avail - was told that I entered a contract the minute I entered the car park , no remorse, no sympathy , no apology for our situation , just a £100 fine ...... I cannot believe that a ' call of nature ' should cost the public £100 / £60 in an emergency - Alliance Parking & Cornwall Council should be ashamed of themselves Please be aware of these sharks !!

Avoid Harlyn Bay Car Park at all costs - YOU WILL GET A FINE

Avoid Harlyn Bay Car Park at all costs. Paid for parking and like everyone, it seems, who uses this car park got a fine for overstay. The fine was dated 18th September - received 21st October - just outside the reduced payment period which ended on the 16th October. I have contacted them to say I will pay the reduced amount but not the full amount as I was not given opportunity to do so, and they have point blank refused, and said any issues with the Royal Mail delivery are my problem!!!! Don't spoil your trip / holiday by using this car park and having all the stress when you get home. Harlyn Bay is beautiful - park somewhere else.

Parked in Polzeath Beach car park with…

Parked in Polzeath Beach car park with ticket from parking metre. As car park was empty, stayed over time not knowing the park was monitored going in and out not obvious for first time visitors!! Received £60 fine minimum if not paid within 2 weeks. This Company are just taking advantage of people on holiday who are unaware of this type of parking area and how it operates. Just surprised the local council let them get away with it, shame on them.

GOVERNMENT - PLEASE INVESTIGATE THESE COMPANIES!!!

Terrible attitude to anyone who makes a genuine mistake entering reg number. Genuine mistake and I had obviously paid the charge. However, I was still charged £100 for the error even though I paid for parking. There are no grey areas with them and their understanding is non existing towards customers who make them rich. Attitude was unprofessional in communication, rude and curt and arrogant. I live in Cornwall and have to use them regularly, I’ve probably paid £100’s but makes no difference. Charges are high and so are the fines. There has to be a government enquiry into these companies and their laws. It’s extortion in a period of economic disparity. Theyre Robbers don’t use them if you can. If you’re disabled there’s still no care or understanding at all. Government stand up for whats right!!!
No replies from them to any comments and reviews either, which says a lot about them.

Machines are not simple to use

Machines are not simple to use! I dialled in 2 hours, fee £4, used phone to pay. Thought nothing of it, grabbed ticket as it was windy, displayed as normal, a week later, a fine string I had overstayed! According to them, I had paid for one hour not 2, no point arguing if you read their fine letter! Small print says you are charged from the moment the ANPR picks you up. Would be better to have 'Pay on Exit' using ANPR like many hospitals do, then NO MIX UP!

Yet another cash cow

Its a shame that I come away from Cornwall every year with a bad taste in my mouth because of this company that gives no leeway at all to the people who spend thousands in the area. I'm not surprised to read the reviews.

I have been trying to get hold of them…

I have been trying to get hold of them to appeal the case and it’s quite stressful waiting. I paid for parking at a parking meter. Meanwhile it says you meant to do it by phone because it’s cameras that will see you in and out so I can’t see why there would be a meter present if that is the case. No one has got back to me, I am still waiting with the appeal and I’m just finding the whole thing very stressful. I don’t feel I deserve a ticket at all and just feels like they’re trying to make money and I paid so much money that week whilst I was on holiday, so this is just really not fair.

Be aware of merely entering car park

Be aware, if you enter a park car and don’t find a space within 4 minutes and leave you will receive a fine. There is no way to contact them, the phones are disconnected. Absolute madness that they are allowed to do this.

DISGUSTING COMPANY

DISGUSTING COMPANY.
Absolute worst worst parking fine i’ve ever dealt with and I actually wish to never go to cornwall ever again because of it. 8 minute overstay, your 3 hour parking is from the very SECOND, actually no…the Millisecond you pull into the car park…so by the time you queue to get a ticket, put it in the window, kids out the car and actually walk to the beach you have about 2 hrs and 20 minutes to return to your car and not leave a second later than 3 hours you paid for. I appealed because the first incident my child was actually sick and came on very suddenly, hence the 8 minute delay and they pretty much said if you can’t stick to the contract, park somewhere else. This happened at trevone AND Polzeath. Absolute thieving A- holes.
