Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 32 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently faced unexpected parking fines arriving years after their initial visit, often accompanied by stressful and aggressive debt collection letters demanding large sums. Consumers strongly struggled with the unhelpful appeals process, noting that the company completely ignored valid evidence or proof of tickets purchased on site. Some reviewers were not happy with the confusing payment machines and the strict time limits enforced immediately upon entering the car park. Visitors also mentioned that these excessive penalty charges severely impacted their household budgets and ruined otherwise pleasant holiday experiences.

Predatory, Prejudiced and Reputationally Damaging to Cornwall

Abhorrent treatment towards tourists. Spent over £10k in local businesses within 48 hours in Padstow AND out of season in winter. Parked and fully paid 3 times in the Harbour Commissioners car park. Never overstayed. Was stalked from the off by shady, unidentifiable 'patrol man' in the dark and driving rain, from the ticket machine where he stood behind me and WATCHED me pay for and then display my ticket, on my dashboard. Still received notice for "not displaying a valid ticket for inspection". Loathsome company and I shall not return to Padstow for as long as Cornwall continues to award Alliance Parking.

Alliance Parking clone. No coins so downloaded app and found…

No coins so downloaded app and found I’d been signed up to all manner of scams, including a ‘health’ site Squat Fever, that planned to charge me £50+ after my ‘1-day trial’. Came with a team of similar sites, ‘watch movies any time’ and something about dance. Found out afterwards these sites somehow piggy-backed onto “Alliance” and are NOT associated with Alliance Parking. But judging from other reviews, the 1 star seems still appropriate. LESSON: don’t download apps in a hurry.

Absolute incompetent cowboys

I have just received a parking charge for Trevone beach PL28 8QY, I checked where this was and I haven’t been to Newquay for about 20 years, I live in North Wales. I tried calling to appeal but they don’t accept appeals over the phone, when I tried to submit my appeal on the website the appeals form keeps saying there is an error message, really difficult to get this resolved when it should take 5 minutes. If you look at the photo the reg has an M at the end not a W. I’m not replying via letter as it’s the 21st century and people should be able to contact them without issues.

Unfortunately I can't give this scum…

Unfortunately I can't give this scum less than one star I paid for one hour parked for 21 minutes and get slapped with a parking fine but I don't have my ticket anymore. Conveniently they have a picture of me arriving and one of me leaving but not one of me paying there's a surprise. Scum of the earth they need stopping

disgusting scum

disgusting scum.

zero stars and as a local I am disgusted. We didn't mind paying peak fees in the summer as we could walk our dogs in the winter without charge and then the alliance scum took over.

parked there for 30mins on new years day to get my dad who had just had a heart attack out of the house.

they now charge as soon as you enter...we tried to park by the cafe to grab a coffee and sit in the car and were blocked by cones, having to find a new space. payment app won't work due to signal. we did not stay for 30 mins and have been slapped with a fine...bet they won't take it from the hour we didn't use last week...stay away from any car park under Alliance

Scum of the earth....

Scum...Cornwall Council you need to take charge of your car parks and get rid of these cowboys who are unscrupulous in their quest to make money. Parked in Polzeath 28th Dec, neither machine working for contactless payments, took too long trying to find cash/coins and then allegedly didn't pay enough to cover time I was parked. £60 for a 43 mins stay, 15 minutes of which I was trying to pay! There were many of us in the same situation. The cowards who hide behind their parking fine letters should answer the phone and speak to human beings about their very valid reasons. Don't bother challenging - tried that once before and ended up paying more - that time I drove in and out, as nowhere to park but still got fined.

Thieving company

Tried taking money twice. Absolutely robbing gits. Spoke to somebody who said I didn’t dispite paying with proof as well. As a result of this since issued the ticket the company I used to do business with has lost thousands of pounds with of business as a result of agents they’ve used. They begged for me to go back but no, to late.

Disgraceful company

Disgraceful company, somewhat akin to an organised crime group. Dishonestly fleecing people with extortionate fines for parking. I have never seen a car park run in this manner and am not entirely sure it is actually legal.

If it was possible to give them zero…

If it was possible to give them zero stars I would. We have just returned from a wonderful half term week in Polzeath, Cornwall with our two young children, this has now been ruined with the arrival of not one but 2 £100 fines (one for Seaview and one for Daymer Bay) for overstaying our ticket by 15 minutes, that 15 minutes being the time taken to get our young children out of the car and all the beach stuff plus putting them back into the car after our time at the beach, we all know how long this can take with a 6 year old and 4 year old. Totally unacceptable! Daylight robbery, how this company is allowed to do this I do not know, money grabbing b******s!!!! DO NOT USE THEIR CARPARKS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!

Legalised robbery

Legalised robbery. This company is geared to trapping unsuspecting motorists with ANPR cameras and poor signage into paying extortionate penalties for even the shortest overstays. At Seaview car park in Polzeath you could easily drive in and drive out without seeing any signage and still get a £100 fine. In any other walk of life this would amount to criminal extortion. Who are the individuals behind this sickening scam - they should be exposed.

This is a scam

This is a scam. I paid the full amount for a day and entered my registration plate into the machine. A fortnight later I received a letter claiming that my ticket was incorrectly displayed with unclear photos as "evidence" and that I needed to pay a penalty of £60 immediately or £100 if a bit later. Despite them having a record of my payment and registration plate, I had no way of proving my ticket was correctly displayed, so my appeal was unsuccessful. I paid as I didn't want to waste any more time on this, but this is how their business model works to prey on tourists. They clearly have unfair contract terms and their FAQs are designed to pressure you into paying a completely disproportionate penalty. I do think this is worth pursuing legally.

I would recommend you avoid Alliance…

I would recommend you avoid Alliance car parks at all cost.
Parking at busy summer periods can add up to 20 minutes to your stay as number plat recognition cameras pick you up on entry and exit and charge you for that period not the ticket period.
The council should be taking action agains these people as tourists are the life blood of Cornwall. Bad practice such as they adopt will eventually cause bad feeling as expressed in these revues.

Alliance Parking are only there to make…

Alliance Parking are only there to make money from us, they are not interested in safe parking or looking after those who are at a disadvantage, they are a scam! The company makes a lot of money from people who fall into a deliberate trap with no grace, understanding and consideration. It is not a carpark in the middle of London, it's a field on a slope with no allocated parking spots where people and families love to enjoy a day out on the beach. This is a ruthless money making company with no morals. Please share with anyone and the council to stop this misery happening to us.

It's pointless appealing a parking fine…

It's pointless appealing a parking fine from this company as from my experience, judging from their response they don't even look at your mitigation, they just send out a generic rejection of your appeal. They then refer you to a so called independent body called the IAS if you want to escalate your appeal. Don't bother, just check out the reviews for the IAS, they are worse than Alliance, if that's possible, both firms are only in it for your money and misfortune.

Do as I say not as I do…

Alliance Parking liveried Vauxhall vehicle index number **REMOVED BY DEMAND OF ALLIANCE PARKING** parks on a footpath in Swansea west on a regular basis...

Hopefully Swansea Council enforcement camera car will pass by and issue PCN...

***Had to edit the street name out because AP complained about the review... (a practice which they would do well to reflect on based on the number of negative comments about their own services.)

**2nd edit as Subject of review took offence at content.**

Basically Alliance Parking are thieves!

We parked at Harlyn Bay on the morning of the 22nd of August and paid for the whole day via the app. We left in the afternoon and return the next day to spend the afternoon on the beach and again left within the time we had booked via the app. Alliance are saying that we actually stayed overnight as their cameras obviously didn’t pick us up leaving and returning the next day. They refused to respond to any of our communication and unfortunately fine as already been paid by our lease company. I have written numerous times by email and post and have never had the courtesy of one response. I will seriously be rethinking visiting this beach again simply because of the parking! Absolute diabolical customer service, basically a corrupt company who by the looks of all these reviews are basically thieves!

A DISGRACEFUL COMPANY PREYING ON TOURISTS

Went to Polzeath in late August during school holidays w our two young daughters, and waited patiently at their crammed beach front lot there for a spot to open up, it never did and after 12 minutes we were forced to park elsewhere never even having gotten out of the car to "read the small print," unaware that we were required to do so. Alliance Parking sent a PCN for £100, as we apparently "overstayed" our welcome while patiently awaiting for a place that never came, along with many others as part of a long queue.

Having been only able to find a two-hour max parking in a lot up the road, returned two hours later to try my luck, waiting patiently for a spot that again never appeared, only to be hit again with a second PCN for £100 on the very same day.

I asked for leniency, never having once gotten out of my car to read their supposed "clear" signage (and I question why would someone leave their car to read their signage if they've not found parking, thus leaving their car blocking others and adding to the congestion problem!) Alliance Parking told me their signage is clear, and required payment in full. Given the number of vehicles also in the queue, what is clear is that this disgraceful company preys on unsuspecting tourists trying to enjoy some time away with their families, making far more money issuing PCNs to those unable to secure parking, than those able to. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT USE THEM AND PARK ELSEWHERE. EVEN BETTER, WRITE TO THE TOWN COUNCILS WHERE THEY'RE FOUND AND RUN THIS COMPANY OUT OF BUSINESS.

NOTE: As mentioned, we're not the only ones to be hit with PCNs. My sister-in-law and family were visiting with us, and were similarly unable to find parking after waiting patiently, and departed. They too were hit with a £100 fine. This company fined our two families £300 in the course of just one afternoon, and we of course didn't even park with them. They're similarly outraged. Given the queue of other cars waiting with us, it seems Alliance Parking makes far more revenue collecting fines from unsuspecting families than from actual parking receipts, it's truly atrocious.

And as further evidence of other's experiences with this company, please google the following article from MSN.com: "tourist-trolls-notorious-parking-company-after-being-slapped-with-100-nonsensical-fine"
