Purchased a sleeve for my 19mm chain in May 2024 received nothing after 2 weeks. I called the company I spoke to someone who advised I'll receive it in a couple days. I got nothing so because a purchased through PayPal was able to swiftly get my money back. Stay away from this company or you will loose money.

Please avoid to save yourself the hassle, lucky I paid PayPal and got my refund quickly after opening a dispute.

They really need to just stop taking orders and close the site down!

Be WARNED as the Main Supplier of Chains to this Company we can confirm they are in serious financial difficulties please DO NOT order any products from them you will just lose your money.If you want their private address e mail myself directly and i will gladly give it to you.

Don't buy anything from them. This is now a scam website. Ordered chain more than a month ago without any trace of dispatch attempt. They don't reply to emails either. Stay away, you'll get scammed.

Almax make good products. A friend has one of their motorcycle security chains and recommended it. So I bought one. Well, I say I bought one, but I didn’t. What happened was I donated over £200 to Almax via their website and that was the last I ever heard from them. No comms, no answer to phone calls, DMs, emails etc etc. Nothing. Nada. For over 2 weeks. So, having thankfully paid via PayPal, a dispute was opened and payment should shortly be refunded. Sad to say this as the product is by all accounts very good, but you just can’t get hold of the products. They have a website perfectly capable of taking your money however. Avoid.

I ordered a chain, ground anchor and padlock from this company for £320 two weeks ago.

I’ve had ONE email to say they have taken my order. They took my money no problem, but I’ve heard nothing about it being dispatched.

I have rang the telephone number from the company website roughly 10 times. I know they are actually using this phone as sometimes you ring it goes straight to voicemail then other times it rings and rings. I have left numerous voicemails to this number also. I haven’t received a single reply.

I have submitted a dispute with PayPal, and the number for Almax is different on PayPal. So again I have tried ringing this number and left numerous voicemails etc. Again, none of which has been responded to.

I honestly couldn’t care less if Almax is a single engineer working on his own and struggling with the workload. You are more than happy to take peoples orders and money, yet you offer ZERO customer service. Almax has effectively stolen my money at this point.

Once I get my money back from PayPal I will order from Pragmasis, as at least they can be bothered to offer customer service.

Almax can go belly up for all I care to be honest.

Look at all the other negative reviews for the company. They are all true representations of how your order goes with this company. They take your money, and IF you’re lucky, you might get the product you ordered at some point in the distant future. But it’s pot luck.

It’s a true miracle Almax is still going at this point in all honesty, given the sheer number of PayPal disputes I’m presuming they receive. You’d think at this point PayPal would be taking steps to distance themselves from Almax.

TLDR: Do NOT order from Almax, go with a different company.

I ordered a 16 mm 2 metres chain and Squire ss60sc lock on the 4th of April and ground anchor , 285£ , no update on order, no reply to email. I called every week, the answer was the same, that tomorrow we will send the order. I opened a dispute via PayPal, but since it was my first dispute, the dispute expired. On 15 June I opened a dispute through the bank and wrote about fraud to the police.

Avoid this company like the plague
I ordered a 25mm chain and Squire ss100cs lock,over £500, no update on order, no reply to email, so phoned, to be told by someone so arrogant, that my bike wasn't worth spending that much on. still waiting on a refund via PayPal.

I don't recommend ordering anything from Almax Security Chains Ltd now, looks like the company is in trouble. My order is 2 months overdue. I have chased several times and requested a refund but nothing. Such a shame because their products are excellent but I can't give them more than 1 star based on this transaction.

After ten days I decided to contact him to be told it’s not been dispatched, was told he would dispatch it next day with next day delivery. Phoned up again to find her still hadnt!

Currently being ignored by him and £369.90 out of pocket. Hopefully PayPal come through and sort this mess out.

Never have I come across a buisness like this, when I did eventually get through to him via phonecall he wouldn’t let me get a word in.

The last thing I wanted to do was leave a review but as he’s completely blanking me, screw him.

Really bad ordering experience. 8 working days after the my order I called them to see what's going on as the chain hadn't arrived. Was promised it will be dispatched on the Friday arriving on the Saturday. No email confirmation and a wasted Saturday waiting around for a non existent delivery.

Called them a week later and they apologise saying it will be dispatched next working day guaranteed. No surprise it wasn't.

Called them the following week and was told it will be dispatched in two days time. I had enough at this point and it was a month since I ordered.

In all of this their whole process came across so chaotic. Everytime I called they took ages to find the order and had no history of the previous calls. So they'd ask you same long winded questions over and over again.

They did offer to provide a longer chain for free albeit admitting it doesn't cost them anything. After the third delay and more false promises I asked for a refund. Let's see how many chasers that will need!

Spending £100s on product only to be treated like this.

Firstly, the product; reputable by its users and insurance companies. I am not a security chain expert, so am happy to take the advice of those that know better, including the insurance companies. The high quality of the chain and lock is apparent and very fit for purpose. If used to lock when parked whilst out on a ride, it’s worth noting the weight per meter. For most motorbikes, the chains should fit through both wheels. Some scooters on the other hand may not have this luxury, so you will need a sufficiently long chain to attached around the footboard and a solid object, suggest a minimum of 2 meters. This logistic is not specific to the Almax of course.

The company; on the surface it appears to be run by a 2 man band. Processes are somewhat lacking. The main telephone number routes to a mobile, certainly the case on the several times I called. My enquiries resulted in a promise of a call-back on each call I made. That call-backs never happened and I had to chase on each occasion. Because the call routed to a mobile with poor signal, the conversation was interrupted on most calls. It took several days for my order to be processed, but got the chain just over a week after the order. This wasn’t the end of the world, but at one point I started to worry (with the accumulation of events) that I may have purchased from a bogus trader. NOT to be the case I hasten to add. I believe I was speaking to the owner, and to be fair he was quite helpful when I was able to have a clear conversation him; providing good advice etc. On the final conversation he advised when the chain would be shipped and when it would arrive. He was true to his promise.

Whilst I am happy with the product and final outcome, I am slightly bemused that the quality of the company does not match that of the product itself. Definitely room for the company to improve. Lets hope this can be achieved for everyone's benefit.

If I was to provide a review score based solely on the product, I would give a 5. However, the overall experience has resulted in a lower score.

Ordered my first Almax chain and won’t be going back. From the customer service over the phone and the quick and speedy shipping (a day), everything has been amazing. Received my chain and lock today after ordering the immobiliser IV and it’s a fantastic chain, paired with the squire ss80cs. Safe to say I think anyone would have to be insane to try an attack this chain.

I contacted Almax on Friday 16 July 2022 re a query about the chains. Alex couldn't have been more helpful. I decide to purchase the Almax Series IV 19mm + Squire SS65CS Stronghold Lock package. I ordered on line however Alex had informed me that he would be unable to post out until Monday the 18th and l would not receive my order until Tuesday 19th. True to his word the chain arrived first thing Tuesday morning. The chain and lock appear to be everything that l needed and the quality is first class.
I could not be more satisfied with my dealings with Almax.

I’ll be honest the service isn’t fast so you need to be patient but that is because these are the best of the best! Making them takes time so expect about 2 week wait but 100% worth the wait! They aren’t costumer service reps they are amazing engineers and will make you the best product in the market in my eyes! No little chav is getting through this! The ground anchor is the most secure bit of kit I have ever seen and you can tell it has something inside it that will spin if they try to grind it. This is my second one and I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO KEEP THEIR BIKE SAFE!!! BUY ALMAX ALL THE WAY!

Great chains and locks, it looks like all the bad reviews are on customer service. My chain arrived the day after I ordered it and thanks to that I still have a bike but when I ordered a new sleeve that took time I messaged them about 2 weeks after I ordered it and then they sent it.

I purchased a 19mm chain (2 meters long) after being recommended. I had no problems purchasing the chain nor any problems with the person on the phone.

I give 4 stars as it seems a lot of people have had problems with customer service and it has disappeared me as the service I reviewed was excellent.

Called up to find out what length version of the 22mm chain would be good for my bike. Was recommended the 2.1m chain but on arrival found it to be much much too long. Tried to call and arrange a return but both lines seemed to be out of order, so sent an email. No reply, so after a week I called again, only to be pretty much shouted at and spoken over for 5 minutes as I tried to explain. Basically told me it was now second hand and he was under no obligation to take it back and argued with me about whether it was actually too long or not, saying he couldn't just take my word for it! Bear in mind that I'd only used it once and it was totally unmarked!

Never been spoken to like that ever about an issue with a product I've bought!

Might be a decent chain but with customer service like that I'll be buying elsewhere from now on! Have to sell this one now, as I'd rather do that then deal with the owner or whoever it is who always answers the phones.

Awful customer service and another lost customer! Pragmasis or Oxford for me from now on!

Ordered one of the top of the range locks, chains and ground anchor to secure my motorbike. The order sat for a week before I phoned up to ask when it was being delivered. The rep said I will dispatch it today for delivery tomorrow. So they've sat on the order for a week before doing anything about it?

Strange way to run a business considering the website states next day delivery.

Absolutely amazing service from Alex at Almax. Such a knowledgable guy about motorcyle security and also knew my bike and exactly the chain and lock combination I needed. Would highly recommend!
