I had gone with Alpine Ramble Treks for a 10 day trip to Everest Base Camp, and our guide was Tek Bahadur Gorung. Without this guide, this trip would not have been possible for me. He is excellent, memorized the entire trail to EBC, and overall very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Tek as your guide and Alpine Ramble Treks company. They have been doing this for a long time, and the company will make sure you have the best experience in Nepal.

The idea of this adventure came out of the blue in 2023. And honestly, Alpine Ramble Trek is the only company I checked out because of the great reviews. I thought I was just sending a query but after a few emails with Dil an itinerary was laid out and that sealed the deal for me.

And here we are June 2024, I’ve completed the 12-day trek to EBC. What a grand experience! Something I will never forget. Alpine Ramble Trek definitely took care of everything, didn’t have to worry about a thing. From guide, porter, accomodations, transportation; all boxes ticked. All I needed to do was walk, enjoy the sceneries and get to the next point. Big thanks to Dil for such an organised trek!

In saying that, I wouldn’t have survive this trek without the help of my amazing guide Mr Nir Gurung and porter Mr Robin Tamang. Being a solo traveller, safety is always priority. And I’ve felt safe throughout the trek. They looked after me like a sister, always checking if I was okay especially when I was showing signs of high altitude sickness. Nir handled that expertly! We communicated openly and made plans accordingly. Thus, I completed the trek safely! They constantly reminded me that slow is okay. “No rush, we have time” - their constant encouragement taking a lot of pressure off my back. Nir’s knowledge of the Himalayas and his openess to share that is commendable. Robin’s pleasant demeanor is comforting. No dull moments with these two. And I’m in awe of their ability to walk, talk, sing, whistle, carry heavy load and still smile, laugh and breathe comfortably without missing a beat. The best mates for a challenging journey! Let me reiterate TRANSPORTATION. On the day I needed to fly out of Lukla the weather wasn’t favourable, which means flying out is not an option. These things happen with monsoon season just starting. However, I didn’t have to worry much because Dil was one step ahead and had a helicopter sorted out for this situation. He had all paperwork sorted out for my travel insurance claim. Above and beyond right?! Alpine Ramble Trek service - gold class.

From preparations before our flight to Nepal, when we arrived at Kathmandu to the trekking days and even until our flight back home, Alpine Ramble was incredibly helpful and attentive. They were always prepared for any circumstances that arose during our trek.

My friend and I went on this trip without much planning, but Alpine made it very easy for us. Dil has been very polite, helpful and responsive. He provided many detailed advice to clear our doubts. He also arranged everything for us, from the trekking schedule, trekking gears, accommodations during the trek and all the private transportations between airports and hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

The trekking trip was also an amazing experience. We were grouped with two similar aged trekkers and we had a lot of fun trekking together. Our guide Ayush and his team were also extremely helpful. We felt like we didn't do anything but walking and enjoying the tremendous view. On top of guiding and taking care of our baggage, they also arranged and personally served all the meals during the trip, helped us with recharging, wifi, pictures, etc. We couldn't have finished the trip without them.

Last but not least, the ABC trekking trail itself is definitely worth visiting. Maybe we were lucky with the weather but the view we saw all the way from Himalaya to MBC and ABC were one of the most beautiful sceneries I have seen. We were exposed to spectacular snow mountains, waterfalls, rivers, glaciers, rocks and stars at night. The world became so quite that we could only hear the birds singing and the river streaming. It was a great escape from the hustle and bustle from the city.

The best trekking company in Nepal! I spent a month in Nepal and did two separate treks with Alpine Ramble – the 11 day Annapurna Circuit and 8 day Everest Base Camp. I did a fair amount of research on trekking companies before booking and Alpine Ramble more than deserves the reputation it has in review sections like these!

First up, you have Dil who is the mastermind behind it all. He was really easy to contact via WhatsApp before I arrived. He was able to plan a trip for me that allowed me to see both Annapurna and Everest regions, with enough time for acclimatisation, rest and unforeseen delays. Speaking of which, my flight to Lukla was delayed one day due to weather, which is very common. But this is when Dil went above and beyond. He organised a helicopter to take me the next day, at no additional charge. For context, the other people on the heli had to pay upwards of $300 each. Now I’m sure Dil wouldn’t be able to do this for every customer, but it just shows how committed he is to making sure you have the best time. And I’m so thankful; it was one of the best experiences of my life!

Now onto the guides and porters. I had Basanta and Prakash for ACT, and Krishna Dhakar and Balkumar for EBC. They were all fantastic. Whether it was playing ludo/cards together or them cheerleading me through some of the more challenging sections of the trek, I will be forever grateful to these guys for making my experience so special. They were all such wonderful people. They set a nice slow hiking pace and checked my oxygen levels every night to reduce the risk of altitude sickness, but also recognised when I could go a bit further.

We stayed in great tea houses throughout, and I’d always seem to get the best room on offer. Maybe that’s Dil working his magic!

Last thing. You read and hear a lot about poor working conditions and exploitation in Nepal. It was really important to me that this wasn’t the case for my trip and I can confirm that Alpine Ramble treats all its staff fairly. From limits on how heavy the porters’ bags can be, to the 10% that goes to charity, Alpine Ramble seems very ethical. I was delighted to hear that one of my guide’s (very smart) sons was studying Computer Science in the US. It gave me confidence that my money was being fairly distributed.

Tika the guide was amazing and injected passion and humour into the trip. Very important when doing it solo! We have recently completed the Everest base camp 9 day trek with Alpine Ramble. We would like to say a massive thank you to our guide Suresh for all the support and help he gave us while trekking to Everest base camp. It was the most wonderful experience and this was enhanced greatly by our wonderful guide and porter that we pre booked before the trip. Our guide was highly knowledgeable on how to keep us safe and made constant checks on us especially on myself, as I struggled when it got really cold. Since we were completing the trek without any acclimatization days our main concern was to not fall ill and get altitude sickness. Our guide made constant checks on us and regularly checked our oxygen levels. Dill, the manager of Alpine Ramble was also at hand and we had good communication with him before the trip, during the trek and after. I would highly recommend anyone wishing to do Everest Base Camp to book through Alpine Ramble and you won't be disappointed.

We had a wonderful time in Nepal. We did an Everest base camp trek in early January with alpine ramble treks and they were amazing, the team were super helpful and professional. From the begging to end, we all had a really great time. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the friendly and cheerful driver Kumar and our guide Iman, and took us to the hotel where we met Dil (owner of the company ) and explained us everything about the trek and also helped us with the gear that we needed for our trek. The team is extremely helpful and very attentive. We really enjoyed the time Being with this team and already looking forward to come back to Nepal for another adventure. We will surely go with alpine ramble!

We had a great time on our trip! We had a couple of guides on our previous treks and our guide Amar was definitely the best! The whole experience was veryvwell organised frpm the time you land to the time ypu leave. Our trip included both food and accomodation and was definitely good value for money. All the extras not included (drinks, wifi showers phone charging etc cost us about 20k NPR per person). I'd definitely chose the company again if I come back to nepal!

We did Everest base camp hike in November, it was a wonderful trip. The Alpine ramble has ben exceptional. We are so glad that we chose them for our trekking to ebc in Nepal, had a wonderful time. My son and I planned this trek since a long time and it was our dream to do it. It is an unbelievable and rewarding experience for me to finish the ABC trek. I am gratefully appreciate my tourist guide Nir gurung and my porter Karn gurung. They are super helpful and caring. They are well-prepared for everything. Although it us a tough trip with many challenges, they always cheer me up and comfort me. The scene in ABC is speechless and magnificent. Very pleasant experience going on the Annapurna Circuit (14 days) with Alpine Rambles Trek. They were very accommodating and made my first time going on a high altitude trek a comfortable and fun experience. Thankful for the great memories I made with my guide and porter and will definitely be coming back next year!

Just completed (successfully!!!) the 14 - Days Alpine Ramble EBC trek via Gokyo lakes and Cho-La pass! What a fantastic experience and really a 5* review for Alpine Ramble and our Guide & Porter in particular.

Communication leading up to the trip was ok, it is certainly worth keeping in touch with Dil via WhatsApp as that’s the best way to get a good answer. But once we arrived at Kathmandu airport it was very smooth sailing. Dil’s kit list was very thorough and whilst I had brought all of my kit prior to the trip, the quality of some of the gear you can buy here in Thamel is fantastic for a fraction of the prices in the West. It’s also worth mentioning that whilst we didn’t use it, Alpine ramble loan a brilliant duffel coat for use up in the mountains foc for the duration of the trip.

After touchdown in Lukla (shaperoned by another Alpine Ramble Guide) we were introduced to our Guide Dik-Rai and his brother Lak-Rai who was our porter. Both guys were fantastic, professional and we genuinely felt like they wanted us to succeed on our trip. We had expert guidance with regards to food, water (only have hot water above 4000m and bottled in Gorakshep) and by some miracle neither my friend nor I fell ill at any point. Dik-Rai was also extremely helpful with advising us on the taking of diamox altitude medicine, which we did the second night in Namche and continued up to Gorak Shep. That was half a tab morning and night for approx 7 days.

We had continuous fun, lots of laughs and never felt unsafe during our hike. Accommodation was (as expected) basic, but comfortable and the food was good.

I will certainly be coming back to this wonderful country and trekking with Alpine Ramble and Dik-Rai in the future!
