Better quality expected

Service and delivery is good but the sandals not as good as expected. One of them has the back belt longer so the foot sits towards outside at the back. You can’t really adjust this by tightening the front belt. The other sandal is fine. I noticed this only after wearing them and couldn’t send them back.

Great site for getting good prices…

Great site for getting good prices -sometimes very good- on a wide range of clothing, footwear and accessories for hikes and the ski season, or just the British winter dog walks. The only downside is that delivery times aren't as instantaneous as some online shopping but I've always been delighted with my purchases over the last few years

Poor after sales service, eventually resolved

I ordered a Robens tent 20.06.2026 from them and with a slight delay it was delivered, 01.07.2026
All good so far.

The following day, 02.07.2026 I trial erected it in my garden to check all was well, which mainly it was.
Unfortunately one of the guylines had a section that was damaged.
Ok, so it's just a red piece of cord, surely they'll just send me one through the post thinks I.
I sent an email with x3 pics attached.

Despite at least x6 emails which initially were answered (bot?), progress was none existent.

I was then told by email that they didn't have any red ones so was offered a few yellow ones, but not enough to change all ????
I declined this solution.

I suggested a partial refund so I could buy a roll of cord myself and change them all to match; Should you really need to be doing this with a new product?
They agreed to this solution.

This can only be described as poor after sales service for what was really quite a trivial issue.
A credit was refunded to my card and so now life goes on. I've no idea why this took x2 weeks when it should/could have been resolved in 2 or 3 working days.
A 20.06.26 purchase took until 13.07.26 to satisfy.

Thank you Alpinetrek for eventually resolving, but your aftersales support needs improving.

Copilot said: Thank you for your feedback and for updating your review!

We’re sorry that what initially appeared to be a simple issue took much longer to resolve than it should have. We fully understand your disappointment, especially as the tent was otherwise in good condition and the problem concerned only a damaged guyline.

We appreciate that you remained in contact with us and worked with us to find a practical solution. We're pleased that we were ultimately able to agree and that you could replace the guylines as you preferred.

At the same time, we understand your criticism regarding the time it took to reach this resolution. We agree that the process should have been faster and that our after-sales communication did not meet the standard we aim to provide.

Thank you again for your patience and for acknowledging the final resolution. We take your feedback seriously and will use it to continue improving our customer service.

Best regards, alpinetrek.co.uk

Pretty crap customer service

These guys are fine if nothing goes wrong. The moment you have an issue with your order they tell you there’s nothing they can do as everything is automated. Honestly worth just going to your local outdoor shop if you can. These guys were absolutely pathetic at customer service. Probably fine with a heavily discounted item so long as there’s no issues otherwise not worth the risk. Lesson learned

Thank you for your feedback.

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience.
Unfortunately, i can also just tell you that once an order has passed a certain stage in our system, we can no longer make changes or cancellations. This is due to the high level of automation in our order processing and logistics systems.

We understand that this can be frustrating when an issue arises and a more flexible solution is desired.

We appreciate your honest feedback and regret that our service did not meet your expectations in this case. Feedback like yours helps us identify where we can improve our processes and communication.

Damaged product. Resolution after a lot of chasing.

Our product (a camping fridge) arrived damaged. The packaging that the order was shipped in was almost twice the size of the box that the manufacturer had provided, and the few bits of paper that had been packed around it were not sufficient to keep the product from being thrown around in transit. There was sticky tape on the original packaging consistent with the product having been previously unpacked and repacked. It appeared as though some of the protective packaging inside the manufacturer's box had been removed.

When we unpacked the box, there was visible damage on the lid of the box. When we tested the product, it did not appear to be working as expected.

We contact Alpine Trek as soon as we noticed the visible signs of damage. After we contacted them, we then tested the product to see if it was working correctly. As a result, I believe that there had also been some mechanical damage.

Alpine Trek were initially very quick to respond to our email and offered a 10% discount. When I replied to advise that the damage appeared to be more than cosmetic, things suddenly went very quiet. After over 48 hours without a response, I contacted the company again over the telephone. I got through quickly and I was assured that a manager was looking into it and would be in contact very soon. A further 36 hours later, and I rang again. I was assured that a manager would be in contact with me again within the day. I was sceptical, so after an hour I sent an email to ensure the conversation was recorded. This email prompted a response within the hour: finally, the product has been refunded.

Although we have had a resolution, I feel as though the amount of chasing up that we have needed to do has been completely unnecessary and a waste of my time and energy. The communications from the company have made me feel as though they think we have been trying to get a discount rather than there being a genuine issue with the product. There has been no real apology. To return the product for disposal, we would have needed to pay the return costs ourselves and have them refunded later. I didn't want to go through the hassle of dealing with the company again. Hopefully we might find some one who can repair and use it.

I think this company really need to concentrate on their communication and customer service, particularly when there is an issue.

Was sent a slightly faulty cycling…

Was sent a slightly faulty cycling aerosuit, emailed complaints and got a response from Jenny. She was very helpful and gave me an acceptable partial refund in return for me keeping the suit as it was.

Good service.
Thanks

Great deals and service

Great deals from a huge company with a extensive collection of hiking gear. Delivery time can vary but mostly about 4 to 6 days to the UK

Not UK based, it doesn't matter!

I know people moan about the fact that, even though the web address leads you to believe they are UK based, when in fact, they are not, my shopping experience with them was A+
Knowing my delivery would not be instant was not a problem and I was kept informed every step of the way.
I would not hesitate to both recommend, and to use, AlpineTrek again.

Very slow returns and refund

Product arrived quite fast but returns is trick. I have confirmation from Royal mail it was delivered to their warehouse on 24th June and it's now nearly 2 weeks later , but still no refund. Only automated responses from customer service. Waiting to see actually how long it takes to get a refund.

UK delivery times.

They are not entirely honest with UK delivery times. Delivery estimates kept changing after I placed my order. Don't think my item was even shipped in the end. They did provided a refund (when prompted).
Essentially, unless you are willing to wait for an unspecified amount of time to receive a delivery to the UK then I would avoid.

Hello Mark, thank you for your feedback.

We apologize that you have not received your parcel. The delivery time to the UK is transparently stated in our shop as 5 to 7 business days.

As our customer service colleague has already explained, a shipping error occurred after your order has been dispatched, which is why the parcel could not be delivered as intended. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused.

A refund was already processed on 07 July.

Fortunately, shipping errors like this are the exception rather than the rule. We regret that your order was affected by an issue.

Kind regards, Alpinetrek.co.uk
