Customer and technical service rep Lisa D did a great job helping me to navigate the extraordinarily confusing jungle that Amcrest has made of its product line. Lisa took the time to listen to my questions, was patient. courteous and effective. When I asked questions to which she did not have an immediate answer, she asked me to hold while she researched the issue and in all cases, came back with a helpful and accurate answer. It is a good thing that she was working for Amcrest at that time, because I was on the point of giving up with Amcrest and going to a competitor for the security system that I want for my new home in Florida. As I said, your written materials and on-line marketing web pages are about as confusing as they could possibly be. I recommend that you have some experts come in and help you to create a more customer-friendly on-line presence and look over your user manuals and other documentation with an eye to making them more comprehensible to the average customer.

Amcrest is guilty of a false…
Amcrest is guilty of a false advertising and refuses to own up to it. They distributed to all those who sign up for their email distribution an example in the following subject email this past August 2033
"2 PACK), of the 4K Ultra HD PoE Outdoor Security IP Camera listed for $84.99" After weeks of back and forth via email, and a couple of times by phone, their offer was these cameras for more money; plain and simply a BAIT AND SWITCH. They have clearly shown they cannot be trusted. It is wise to avoid doing business with them. Instead look first to what their competition has to offer. Don't bother to look to them; otherwise you'll regret it. I wasted my time, and am glad I didn't waste my money.

I purchased Amcrest camera about 6-8 months ago. I have contacted technical support a few times today trying to get into my account. 1st is that I could not understand everything they said to me. 2nd the tech kept wanting to know the serial number of the camera. I kept asking what the serial number had to do with accessing my account. He said the camera is probably not on the account. I said, that is not the issue, I can't sign into my account. After a few conversations similar to this I asked to speak to the supervisor, hoping that I could get someone that I could understand and would understand my issue. Was told there was no supervisor. After calling a 2nd time and getting a similar answer I just gave up. I like Amcrest but can't recommend the company due to the customer service experience I had. I had read other articles on camera reviews indicating good support, yet my experience with support was very different. I got called back by the same person. I was then directed to a contact form to send in for accessing my account. I asked if I could talk to cloud support and was told to put it in the description section of the form. No direct access. Help Mr. Wizard.

I bought this system directly from amcrest. It sucks. They promised me improvements, but no. It still sucks. Too many problems and very low definition. Sucks

Do NOT ….I repeat, DO NOT purchase this brand. Tech support and customer service is absolutely abismal. Their Indian based tech support staff knows nothing, the mysterious Houston tech support “team” NEVERRRRRR returns a call. The entire company should be dissolved or taken over by Dahua or some other brand.
Don’t install this brand even if you receive them as a gift.

You cannot rely upon Amcrest products…
You cannot rely upon Amcrest products to provide security surveillance. Though I was initially able to install it, it took many, many, MANY, hours to do the DVR setup. Sometimes it will record, and other times it will not. Even though it will sense motion, and you set it to record when motion is sensed, it will not always do so. When is does record you cannot view it on the app, it will only show a limited amount of the recording, even though when viewing it direct at the unit, you can see there is more recorded video.
I've never been able to view my security system remotely on a computer with Amcrest Surveillance Pro and since the app is only partially useful it renderers the entire system only partially useful. If I needed to provide video or still photos to law enforcement I would literally have to drive to the location to download it. Not great if you are using it on distant property.
The manual is written in 4 pt typeface, so you must download it so that you can blow it up large enough to read. I can deal with that, however reading it will not be helpful unless your are a trained security systems installer as the instructions are not meant for the ordinary consumer. The system, its manual, its setup, and its use NOT intuitive, simple, or consumer friendly.
I WOULD NEVER recommend this system to anyone for any reason. The plain fact of the matter is you must spend a lot more money to get a reliable product, so don't waste any of your money on this one!!!!!

I have been ordering from Amcrest for many years, and in the last two years since COVID, the product and service quality could have been better. They put me on hold for over an hour today and still have not solved my issues since 7/15/2021 with the poor ASH-42 cameras connecting to the network and dropping connection, even after spending thousands of dollars on a new commercial Ubiquiti router and access point's new ATT fiber connection. And avoid trying to return something that is a nightmare. The company has gone backward and lost business as a result. I suggest looking for another company because you will waste time and money with them.
Oh, and by the way, I attempted to offer my services to correct the customer support issues, and she ignored me when I asked if they needed help. They don't seem to care to correct the problems, as we all can witness pretty sad.

Ordered 2 IP5M-1190 Amcrest 5MP UltraHD…
Ordered 2 IP5M-1190 Amcrest 5MP UltraHD Mini Outdoor WiFi Camera, Security IP Cameras on 09/23/22. Amcrest sent them to the wrong address. When I call to check on the cameras, they tell me they are waiting for them to be returned.
It's taken over 2 weeks 10/10/22 round-trip for their mistake and now they want me to wait additional time for the cameras to be received and then forwarded to me. Multiple calls, multiple run-arounds. Asked to speak to a supervisor, get told they are busy but will call back. They never do. Today, after the 3rd call to Amcrest, I was lucky enough to get a call back. Wanted to give me the run-around again telling me I would need to wait, and he would do his best to expedite the shipment. No guarantee he would be successful at expediting the shipment, only that he would try. No incentive to give them the extra time. Demanded a refund and all of a sudden, I need to fill out a form explaining how they screwed up. Not no, but hell no. Told them to fill out the form themselves. Was finally told I would have a refund within 48 hours. We'll see if that turns out as true or not. Poor customer service. Taking the 8 Amcrest cameras off my house and replacing with Reolink, Tried to say "idio_" but is considered inappropriate language for these "idio__.". I'll let you add the "t" and the "ts." Never doing business with these lovely gentle persons and their technologically inferior products again. It was a genuine pleasure getting the company line of lie, delay and hold us unaccountable for our shortcomings. Hope that is a much calmer, more woke appropriate language they will be able to understand. Better yet, take a No. 4 x 1" flat head, Phillips tip, stainless steel, self-tapping device and insert it up your posterior.

They change prices they quote in writing
Was provided a quote, via email, called and spoke with the salesman, and gave my credit card. A day later he emails saying the shipping is $55, original quote was $5. He would not honour the original quote. This is a breach of contract and very poor customer service. In addition, I have cloud recording for another camera, it keeps editing the settings. No help from tech support so I asked for a refund, nope, won't do as its outside of 30 days, not even a prorated amount, even though its their system doing the edits. It took me longer than 30 days to notice. Very much lacking their own policy of putting the customer first. I asked for a manager to call me, nope, no call, I asked for an email to contact a manager, nope, no reply to two emails. I have been a customer for over 15 years, now they lost me.
Horrible Customer Support
I have unfortunately had to contact customer support several times due to issues - the thick accents are of no help- It is way to frustrating for them and the me! It took 10 minutes for them to understand I was saying H ... not 8 - and then another 10 minutes for me to understand "can I please put you on hold". And after all of that she told me I need to fill out a form online and they will contact me. I'm ready to dump Amcrest and look for new cameras.

you are suppose to be able to suspend or reactivate your service whenever you want. But for some reason My account has been disabled after I temporarily suspended it.....They are still billing me Surprise, Surprise I should have known they were not going to be on the up and up. I called and they say fill out a form good luck on getting access to the form. I will just have to cancel my credit card. What a Pain... Oh and you can barely understand them they are foreign based and talk very quietly.

There’s always something going wrong with their service you don’t get email notifications or it doesn’t show events or it doesn’t record with paid service and when you call for help good luck getting any straight answer from there technical support so I will stop paying for lousy service and product.

I have had amcrest for over 6 years and…
I have had amcrest for over 6 years and foscam before that. Foscam support was non existent so we bought amcrest cameras. The support was great but has gone to almost nonexistent. We have cameras we pay monthly for cloud recording and cloud recording stopped which is not good to watch your restaurant and bar. They still bill me and I have called several times to get remote workers that have no idea what they are doing. I have been told by the tech support on the phone it is better to email support but that has failed several times at the email amcrestsupport. I asked why my recordings were not working and they said "we would be happy to stop your service" Sad but so much money and time into good hardware to be broadsided by bad customer support.
