Fails to undertake promised work / Fails to deal with issues in a timely manner
We moved in to a rented house from this company. Prior to moving in, we viewed the house and saw there was a large detached garage, full of rubbish. In the front garden were also discarded items of rubbish. The agent promised to get the it cleared for us, prior to, or just after we moved in. The garage was removed but the concrete and brick foundations remained. The rubbish in the front remained. We found there was no TV aerial socket after moving in, which we reported, as well as a lack of electric sockets in the house. A light switch was broken, the boiler was faulty and the radiator valves were pretty much all broken. We discovered these things at different times and the boiler was fixed, eventually. The electrician did a poor job of installing the TV socket and replaced a light switch UPSIDE DOWN. Quality workmanship. The house leaks heat like a sieve leaks water. The loft hatch is broken and I have have to run tape around the edge to try and keep heat in. The bathroom is ALWAYS cold. This house needs a complete overhaul. I accept that I viewed the house before I rented it, but some of these issues could not have been found out just on a viewing. I have informed Amelies in writing of the issues, more than once and have to chase them to get anything done. I am still waiting for the garden to be cleared, the rubbish removed (a bin full of paint, another bin full of rubbish, bricks, concrete, detritus), the loft hatch needs replacing, the radiator valves need replacing... Amelies are poor communicators and fail to deal with more expensive problems in a timely manner. In the mean time, I have to live in a house which should be in a far better state.
AVOID this letting agent; if the house you rent needs work, it won't be sorted. I can prove this as it is SEVEN months and still the garden is full of rubbish. two months in winter, and the radiator valves are broken, the loft hatch still leaks heat.
