6 months since I signed up for this - 2 failed DNA tests (despite meticulous following of their instructions) and they've taken £100 in membership fees which is completely useless to me without the results! The website is horrible to navigate and support staff unhelpful.

Bought DNA kit, did not subscribe to a free month and then yearly subscriptions thereafter, but my ancestry took £109 yearly subscription from my account. Just had a call from a condescending advisor telling me I did subscribe but didn’t realise, referring to an email address and Apple ID which aren’t mine, and then trying to talk over me when I’m advising of this. She wouldn’t listen when I told her I even had the email thanking me for purchasing the DNA kit at £19.90, and no trial period and subscription were ever mentioned until I got the email thanking me for having used the trial period(which I didn’t have), and telling me I needed to cancel by the date before the email was sent if I didn’t want to pay the yearly subscription. I was offered a free DNA kit and an email to cancel next year subscription as a consolation, which I refused and was adamant that I wanted the whole £109 back. She then went away and told me what she could do for me was give me 25% back, which again I refused. She kept telling me to stop arguing with her, and then. said she could give me either 50% or 100% back. After telling her I would settle for nothing less than a 100% refund, she hung up on me. Thankfully, I had paid through PayPal and opened up the dispute through them. Just checked on PayPal and 100% refund has been issued. Wouldn’t recommend these to anybody, unless they are strong enough to stand their ground and dispute any additional charges that they haven’t signed up to because they will be charged them if my experience is anything to go by.

I first started this just to keep track of who was who in family photo's but when I started digging and going further and further back, I never would have realised that the Industrial Revolution wasn't just a dusty page in a history book - my family was an active part of it! Still lots of un-answered questions and some dead-ends (adopted great grandfather - so no prior records). However the genetics also answer a lot of questions . Fascinating journey.

Absolute scam.
I got my DNA results that I paid for however what they don’t explain initially is that you are expected to pay £50 per month going forward
This is extremely hard to try to cancel- I spent a whole morning going round in circles trying to cancel it and unable to speak to anyone about it.
Managed to cancel now £50 has been taken out of my bank- again I can’t get in contact with the company at all.
I’m going to have to cancel this with my bank directly
Avoid at all costs as this company is not upfront about how they work
