Disgusting, no thoughts for people suffering from mental health, are old and unable to trust non cash payments. Phoned up today and was told they do not accept cash payment. So much for council care for the community 😡

Great tasting food and my orders are always on time. Highly recommend!

This company is dealing in the main with older people who get upset when they get invoices sent to them for £400 when they have only had £72's worth of meals! Apetito blamed it on their cyber attack. To get it wrong because of this; not good, but to then get it wrong again when you have emailed, telephoned twice, read your email out to the lady who so called worked in 'customer service'... Need I go on? In addition the meals are tiny!!!

Bedford.
My Aunty was really looked after by the delivery staff who alerted us when she didn't answer the door. At times this was because she was poorly so we were able to take action.
The food was always hot and as described and of decent quality
Dealing with the back office team on the phone or by email was also very efficient
The only thing that would improve the service would be more flexibility with menu choices.

Like many many recent reviews, we have also been asked to pay a large bill. Nobody informed us that the direct debits were not being taken following the cyber attack. I am in the process of trying to get to the bottom of why my father now has this bill to pay despite direct debit payments being taken by Appetito.
We stopped using their service last year.
The food was often arriving too late, dried up, and sometimes luke warm which resulted in my father having to dispose of the meal leaving him to source alternative food.
In addition, my father was not offered a choice of meal choices so sometimes he wasn’t able to eat, through his dislike of what was delivered to him.
So all in all, a very negative experience whilst using apetito

Don’t use this service if you can possibly avoid it. My father has vascular dementia. Lunch turns up after 2pm often nearly 3 pm. They deliver meals on days where they are told not to ( and charge). They bill for meals not delivered, they charge full price for meals even though our council subsidises half the cost. After I raised this issue the just went ahead and took the money by direct debit anyway. In the last 3 months they have taken nearly £1000 from my fathers account. I have just tried to call their accounts department again to be told I have to wait 48 hours for them to call me back (which they never do). No doubt the response to this is that I need to call their customer service department!
Also check the calorie count on their meals, about 350 for a main meal for an adult seems very low. Thankfully my dad is not a picky eater as quality is no better than a cheap ready meal from Tesco!

If I could give a zero star rating, I would!!! DISGUSTING EXCUSE FOR A COMPANY. My mother has vascular dementia and after I had chased the company for several months about paying for her meals to no avail, we received a bill for £929.23!!! After using my own savings to pay the bill, I have now had notification saying that no bill has been paid, despite having bank evidence on my mother's account dated the 6th March. None of the departments know what they are doing they just transfer you to someone else that has no clue and can't help. DISGUSTING SERVICE! No elderly person or their relatives should have to put up with such appalling service.

This is the most shockingly, inadequate company I've ever dealt with in my life! My Mum has Alzheimer's and several times her meals failed to turn up (even when I've had email confirmation from the office that they were booked), leaving her confused, distressed and very hungry. Meals also turned up frequently on days they weren't supposed to, leading to even more confusion. Only one lady who works there has been very helpful and was equally as frustrated by me at the dreadful service (or lack of) that we received. As for the rest of the company, they don't communicate with each other or the customer and the phone operators can rarely help you. I've twice asked for a manager to contact me to explain why my Mum, an extremely vulnerable lady, has been left without her meals and to offer an apology, but to date I've had no contact other than a final bill as I've cancelled the service. Don't touch this company with a barge pole! They are shockingly incompetent and how they can get a simple service so wrong on an extremely regular basis, is mind boggling. I have to wonder how many other vulnerable customers, who don't have anyone to keep a close eye on them, have been left without food and probably charged for it!

Has anyone received a huge bill for food deliveries since a cyber attack in june 2022? I phoned their contact number on the letter but they couldn't help and sent my contact details to the depot as she said I had to deal directly with them. Still not heard. Mum has a bill of over £1,000 which it looks like they expect ASAP. I was not aware they weren't taking any DD from my mums account otherwise I would have set money aside for this. I have one very distressed mum.

I would like to comment on the service of the Gloucestershire depot. They were an amazing company providing meals for my late mother. When she was diagnosed with dementia, she could not master the use of the microwave. Apetito guaranteed her a hot meal. As the dementia progressed, she had problems swallowing and Apetito provided "Softer meals". It is such a shame they have lost their contract with Gloucestershire Council. I fear for how the vulnerable are going to cope without this service.

food supplied to this hostel is often poor and inedible.
The mince meat or lamb smells funny
It's generally low quality.
That said there is on a rare occasion a nice meal.
But more often than not it's tasteless
Cold and depressing.
The demo day they put a selection of great dishes
What comes now is not what was on that day
And there is now review or communication.
Edit.
Apetito have said this doesn't relate to this domain.
The food we eat is apetito the quality it's really bad.
It would be nice to not supply a value range maybe.
You get better quality food when your in prison.
The food comes frozen in foil containers, heated in a trolly that I understand doesn't work sometimes, and served cold.
Apeitito supply a branded system
But don't support the end users.
So the product really, ends up being given to homeless and vulnerable people in a really sad and depressing state.
I've seen people have a breakdown and cry after not being able to cope with eating food that's upsetting.
I've seen meat that is of a mystery texture.
Mince that looks upsetting and sad.
Retired butchers making comment on the quality of the lamb smell and texture and colour.
Vegetables that are soggy and empty of texture or taste.
It should really require a low skill to reheat frozen.
I've been eating this for 11 months myself and met hundreds of people that have struggled with the quality and temperature.
It would be great to increase the standard of the food supplied.
Lots of people take lots of photos over the last couple years if you want to see.
Contact me if you want.
I hope it gets better.
I'm sure apetito don't aim to supply depressing food.
It needs some consideration to improve it.

I must say I was very disappointed in this company when trying to order food for my Mum. My Aunt has had Wiltshire farm foods for years and years which have been wonderful so I thought that AP would be the same being the parent company. First of all trying to even get information from them has proved impossible when a brochure arrived and I use the word loosely it was just some photocopied sheets. I then rang and asked how I could order and was given the phone number of the local area. Tried them they couldn’t help and said someone would phone back, they haven’t. So won’t bother now. Such a shame when there is so little out there for the elderly and vulnerable.

Very poor communication between the various offices and departments. Inflexible delivery service which is not able to adjust to customer needs. If for no reason at all they fail to deliver, they charge for the missed delivery even if its not the clients fault. Meals themselves are quite good but customer care is poor. And this is supposed to be providing meals for vulnerable elderly in the community. Their local office in Hampshire is understaffed.

My 91 mum had been overcharged by Apetito - she has been charged for 7 meals per week instead of 3 .
She has been receiving meals for nearly a year and this is the first involve she has ever had. They have been collecting the suns due by direct debit .
When I phoned and eventually got an answer from customer services she said it was due to a ‘ computer glitch ‘. Absolutely disgraceful victimisation of elderly and vulnerable people. God knows how many more there are .

There are no flexibility with the time slots, my mother has to have her lunch at 2.30pm as they are in same area, and they start thd furthest away and work there way back to the office.
Her food is sometimes hard, staff don't even acknowledge her when delivered.

Drivers keep leaving vehicles on my PRIVATE layby to hand deliver food to neighbours, in turn blocking vehicular access on and off my driveway.

Apetito provides my elderly mother with meals on wheels (in Cheltenham). The meals have never been great, but at least she could choose from several meals each day. However, their service has declined recently in two areas:
- Back in the summer my mother received a letter from Apetito saying that it had suffered a cyber-attack which had damaged their computers or databases or something. For some reason this meant they could no longer provide meal choices. The letter implied that this was a temporary situation, but several months later there is still no choice (and no further updates) - she basically has to accept whatever the van driver gives her each day.
- Delivery times are erratic, especially at weekends when they sometimes don't show up until after 2pm. My mother suffers from depression and anxiety and gets very stressed by her food not arriving when expected.
So it's a poor situation. I wish we had a choice of meals-on-wheels provider but Apetito seems to have a monopoly here.

Rude unhelpful selling over priced pig swill ! And the reviews if you look at all the “good reviews” the poster only has one review listed whilst the (bad reviews) have numerous ??? Suspicious???? Anyway do not leave the responsibility of feeding your elderly relatives to this poor excuse of a food supplier !!!

My Uncle is in a care home supplied by Apetito. I wouldn't even call it food. It looks stodgy and either overcooked or undercooked and certainly not the least bit appetising. Residents, particularly when they are not in the mood for eating, have to have their appetites tempted and a nicely presented plate of food would do this instead of just being dolloped on the plate. Any meals that I have seen I would not have been tempted to eat and I am not a particularly fussy eater. It looks more like hospital food than someone having taken the care to produce something tempting. It also smells really bad. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Had a very quick response to my previous review from Head Office. Was promised that it would be looked into and that meal deliveries to my mother-in-law would start in 3 days time on Bank Holiday Monday. True to their word, the first meal arrived today and she loved it. She has not been eating much recently as she has been struggling to cook for herself but she was already so much brighter this afternoon on the phone than she has been recently and it was lovely for her to see someone too. Thank you.
