We Received the Wrong Item and Vendor will not Accept the Return

The reason why we purchased from this vendor is because all other stores were out of stock of the over the range microwave we wanted. This was the only vendor that showed it was still in stock. The item was shipped FedEx and everything was going smoothly until the appliance arrived and we opened the package. At first glance it was clear the item was not new, wasn’t even the right finish or brand. I took a picture of the model number of what was sent. We ordered a Whirlpool black stainless steel over the range microwave and what was sent was a Magic Chef over the range microwave in black (looks like plastic). The label on the box shows the right item. We submitted a return and sent the item back explaining the problem. Just got an email saying that they cannot process our return because the microwave in the box does not match the outside label. That is precisely why we are requesting this return. So we purchased a $538 microwave received a $300ish dollar microwave and the vendor will not return the money even though the mistake was made on their end. Will push back, but I can see how our return might look suspicious, so l’m not sure if we’ll get the desired outcome, but I won’t be ordering from this vendor ever again. I don’t even know how something like this could happen.

So far, so good!

I called customer service to place my order for a laundry set, and it couldn't have been a better experience! Nathan was very helpful and as friendly as can be. He patiently answered all my questions and insured that everything was correct when the order was placed. I have no reason to doubt that the delivery will go just as smoothly. Great prices too!

Very bad experience - not a good vendor

On Sept 20th 2023 we ordered a Bosch 300 Series dishwasher from Appliances Connection. Their price was comparable to Home Depot and Lowes (Lowes showed out of stock.) The factors that swayed us towards this vendor were these: It showed as in stock, they said they could ship within 2 or 3 business days, and they were including free installation and free removal of the old dishwasher. Note: not until I was deep into trying to resolve our issue with them did they ever mention that you must purchase their dishwasher installation kit or they won’t do the installation.

I received an email the following day – Sept 21st – showing the order had been processed, and also got an email with the tracking number for the shipping company they use - which is called AM Home Delivery (a division of AM Trucking.) The tracking supplied by AM showed only that “Pickup Order Notification received.” ON the 25th I became puzzled that no further status was shown on the tracking.
I called Appliances Connection and the phone queue was long, so I chose the “Call me back:” option. They called and advised me that the item had already been shipped and that they would check with the shipper to see why the tracking was not updated. 36 hours later I had not received any updates, so I tried calling the shipper myself. They cl; claimed that they had not received pickup authorization from the vendor, despite the fact that they made trips to that warehouse nearly every day for pickups. I called the vendor back and they initially insisted that it had shipped. Then… she started talking about how it was supposed to be delivered within 7 to 14 days of the purchase date and that it had actually not shipped yet. She also person said she was the manager of that department and there was no one above her that I could speak with. I hung up, called their main number, and asked for the Sales department. The person I spoke to there referred me to an email she had copied me on, in which she attached photos of the dishwasher in the wrapped pallet and the AM Home Delivery stick on it with my name and address. The vendor then insisted that they HAD shipped it (the story kept changing) and the shipping company continued to claim that they still didn’t have authorization to pick up the item.

I finally gave up in disgust. The shipping company gets only 2 stars out of 5 on Trustpilot but I still don’t know who was lying to me – there’s no question that someone – either the shipper or the vendor -was not telling the truth. I requested a refund and they did issue one immediately. I ordered it from Home Depot, who will deliver it in 3 business days. No installation services are provided but dishwashers are easy to install. I also got a $100 discount for opening a Home Depot charge account. From now on I will stick to known entities like Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot etc.

Such a mess

Such a mess. I purchased a console table about a year ago. It arrived with a broken door. After about 4 months new hinges arrived for one door but they were different than the other door. Now the doors hang crooked. I notified appliance connection immediately and asked for a second replacement. 5 months and several emails later no hinges had arrived, they said they were working on it (for 5 months???). A month ago I opened the bottom drawer and the entire front half just came clear off! It appears the nails were misaligned so it was never fully secured. I updated appliancesconnection. They told me that they would do 35% refund of the unit for me to fix the door myself and "oh and by the way, those hinges are never coming because they're discontinued". I finally got them to offer 50% refund for me to fix this all myself; they said they would go no higher so I accepted. Then I get an email saying they will need the item shipped back in order to get the 50% refund. So I'll have no console table, be out half of my money plus shipping, and none of it was at fault of my own, the furniture arrived broken on day 1. Bad furniture buying experience. Do not recommend.

I had 20 year old upright freezer fail…

I had 20 year old upright freezer fail 3 months into COVID. I'm a hunter and have a lot of wild game in the freezer. There were no freezers available anywhere due to COVID, and Appliances Connection was the only source I found that allowed me to order and get on the waiting list. They kept me well informed, and I got a new freezer just as they projected. Delivery and haul away were great.

I was shopping for appliances for a while, trying to get the best deals. This website had all the lowest prices. After ordering, my kitchen cabintery construction met some delays, i didnt want to receive it before the construction was completed so i called in to see if they could postpone the delivery. Wellington help coordinate everything for me. Not only did he call every 2-3 days with updates, but he also called a few days after the delivery just to check in on my delivery! Their customer service is definitely a diamond in the rough!

The Worst

The Worst! This company is predatory, they charged me 2 times for the same order then refused to refund the $ back. It took almost 2 weeks to get them to do the decent and lawfully right thing. This company is criminal, avoid!!

I ordered a washer/dryer combo with…

I ordered a washer/dryer combo with reversible doors over a month ago. When they were delivered, I had issues with the washer, and the dryer was dead on arrival.

The installer told me to call Appliances Connection to schedule a repair, who in turn told me to contact Electrolux. I asked to exchange the broken dryer, and Electrolux told me they don't do exchanges and that I had to schedule a repair. They couldn't schedule it for me though--they gave me the number for a 3rd party service company, which I had to call myself. When the repairman came, he told me that he had to order parts first and then reschedule another date.

In the meantime, I tried to reverse the washer door according to instructions, but couldn't because the screws would not come out (never a good sign). I did not want to force them out and void the warranty, so I called Electrolux again to let them know that the repairman would need to look at the washer too. They tried to tell me that this was "an installation issue" and they did not cover it. This is wrong: it is a manufacturing defect preventing me from installing the product. After talking to a customer service supervisor, we agreed they were going to help me fix it.

I then had to make a bunch of additional calls to schedule another repair. A week later the service guy shows up and tells me that he can fix the dryer, but has not heard anything about our issues the washer. I call Electrolux AGAIN, and they AGAIN try to tell me they don't cover installation issues, so I had to repeat my conversation for the third time. Finally, the customer service rep schedules another service for the washer...but then tells me that I have to call the service company on Monday morning to confirm the appointment.

Long story short, I spent thousands of dollars to purchase a brand new high end washer/dryer combo, received two broken machines that both Electrolux and Appliances Connection refused to replace, and wasted many hours on frustrating phone calls. Over a month later, they still haven't been repaired.

By the way, I also paid $90 to install a broken dryer and Appliances Connection refuses to refund me that amount.

This has been an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience.
