RESOLVED thanks to Trustpilot

This complaint has been resolved satisfactorily

This insurer appears to be using crooked and misleading tactics. Policies are sold at an agreed price on the purchase date, only for the premium to be increased later based on fabricated “risk changes.”

Instead of allowing customers the right to cancel, the insurer and its agents impose unjustified additional charges, including so-called “administration fees.” This is not the conduct any honest or honourable customer would expect from a regulated insurance provider.

I recently received the following communication from a agent called One Protect selling this insurers policy.

“It has been brought to our attention that the risk details provided to us at inception of your insurance policy are currently incorrect. Due to the discrepancy, there has been an additional premium added to your account. This balance is inclusive of the £42.50 administration fee*.”

This behaviour is entirely unacceptable and falls short of fair trading standards. The company has failed to specify what has allegedly changed, provided no evidence, and offered no right to cancel before imposing these charges.

Such arbitrary and opaque practices raise serious questions about the company’s professionalism, integrity, and compliance with the Insurance Ombudsman’s ethical guidelines and the principles of treating customers fairly.

Why would I take out home insurance excluding flood protection several different company’s you can’t never get the the bottom of who you are supposed to be talking to ? They lie and say you haven’t spoken with them ( wasn’t me it must have been someone else ( when you have just spoken to them).
Then you get you to complete a claim form knowing full well you are not covered for floods?
Why would you do this? Just to pass the time?
complete nightmare they will not explain your policy. When you try to cancel the policy they want the Years premium paid (FOR CANCELLATION OF A POLICY WHICH COVERS NOTHING) when your whole house has been flooded they think you have time to play games , throbbed off hundreds of times different numbers different people different companies.
No straight answers .I have never experienced such a BAD company.
BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!
If you want stress lack of empathy, lies upon lies , headaches and pay for insurance that doesn’t cover you (you have come to the right place) . Don’t waste your time or money.
So next steps for them…

AVOID COVEA & ARK INSURANCE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

ARK Insurance are a hidden subsidiary company of COVEA Insurance.

My Landlord Insurance claim with them has been a TOTAL NIGHTMARE and has dragged on for 18 MONTHS now!
I had a property completely trashed and they tried to say it was caused by bad-workmanship or accidental damage to avoid paying out!

During my insurance claim:-

1: I have been ignored, mocked and laughed at over the phone.
2: They use every delay tactic possible as they hope you will give up and drop your claim.
3: Been made to re-submit my entire claim as they lost the first one then denied they lost it.
4: Also had all my Loss Adjuster responses lost meaning I had to go through the whole process again.
5: They refused to come and inspect the damage then later tried to blame me for not letting them inspect it.
6: Their useless phone helpline promises to respond to all enquiries in 7 DAYS. But you will be lucky if you get a response in 7 WEEKS!

DISHONEST:- They will come up with all sorts of excuses to avoid paying-out!

WARNING:- Put all your contact with them in writing or they will deny everything!
PENALTIES:- I incurred penalties with my new insurance provider because of an outstanding claim.

FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN
Don`t let them get away with it and take your claim to the Financial Ombudsman.

SAVE YOURSELF ALL THIS HASSLE AND GO WITH ANOTHER INSURANCE PROVIDER!
COVEA & ARK INSURANCE DESERVE A ZERO RATING!
