Overall, its a good keyboard with some inconveniences..
Overall, my experience was great, prompt responses from messages and the overall keyboard was great. What makes this a 3-star is that delivery was a lot longer than promised, I ordered keycaps and a starter keyboard together with the promise that they will be assembled for for me, but they were not. The key caps that did come, all fell out of the plastic sheet, that was meant to hold them and were all over the place and were practically falling out of the box. Considering the promises and the "premium experience", it was rather disappointing. But otherwise, it was a great keyboard.
UPDATE: customer service reached out to me, apologised, and offered a voucher to help make amends. They also said they are committed to improve.

Excellent quality and service
I ordered a custom keyboard with a couple of accessories - I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the keyboard I received.
The staff at ascend have significantly improved their communication and overall customer experience; I believe this was mainly due to previous reviews where communication wasn’t as good. However, I can see significant improvement has been made in that regard.
I would definitely recommend ascend and I would definitely order from them again!

I don't want to have to give this review because staff seem friendly, but the problem for me was too few staff. Package dispatched after the 35 day limit, tried emailing and through discord but no helpful reply, still waiting for arrival, but should be soon. They expressed lack of staff, but should have made clear before purchase that the order would be delayed.

Sloppy, poor quality, terrible wait
To think that something costing so much can be so lazily put together is absurd, especially when you consider the months of time it takes for them to even send it out. I understand they have backlogs of orders but that isn't an excuse to cut down on quality so you can clear the backlog. Stabs were insanely overlubed and not tuned (yes I know you have to break them in but trust me I have tried for months to break them in and they're still so sticky that they stay down when u press a stab key) switches were insanely scratchy despite them apparently also being lubed, and adding onto the overlubed stabs, they're still somehow insanely rattly. The PE foam mod was done incorrectly and to top it all off there wasn't even enough of it to cover the board. Waste of time, waste of money, do not order here until you're absolutely certain they've fixed their issues.

I placed my order in May 2022 and paid immediately. I finally received the item 7 months later, in December 2022. After multiple emails asking for updates with minimal responses, I managed to get a response saying it would be sent out in the next few days. Within that week, it had finally arrived.
If a company is struggling with the sheer quantity of orders, surely it would be best to put a temporary halt on new orders so they're able to get on top of the backlog and actually fulfil orders, avoid refund requests etc.? If this isn't possible due to staffing or funding issues then at the very least there should be a clear disclaimer outlining the lateness situation BEFORE customer hit go ahead and order in good faith. Having customers wait literally over half a year for something they paid quite a bit of money for is honestly quite appalling. Imagine if this was purchased by someone and intended to be a gift, or they needed a replacement asap... No chance.
Something positive to focus on - Ascend did respond to me and fulfil the order in the end, and most recent communications I had with them were helpful, informative and pleasant. Hopefully things have improved since I initially placed my order, but personally? I doubt I'll be returning, given my poor experience.

Stellar product, with a few ordering woes
I ordered a Black TKL, with Gateron brown switches back in April 2022 time, and recieved the item around the end of November 2022.
Overall: The product itself is great, and the team has much improved under their new leadership throughout the year, in both quality of communication and production times. Displayed clear knowledge of the products they are selling, and were always happy to help suggest items.
The team has done a good job of fostering a good community around their products, with community helping each others, and discussion keyboards/other hobbies.
Order communication: Ordering custom built products is always hit and miss when it comes to communication, especially during a turbulent period globally. Initially, Ascend seemed to struggle with providing clear estimates for production and shipping times, even when prompted on a monthly basis.
Later in the year however, things kicked into gear. With a new owner taking the reins, and the team moving into a permanent office to speed up production. Weekly (sometimes even bi-weekly) fufillment updates are now provided in their Discord, especially since they are so reliant on overseas shipping from third parties.
With extra capital, Ascend has managed to put themselves in a better position to purchase stock required, and it shows in the improvement in shipping times and sheer stock they have been getting in.
The Product: I picked up a full desk makeover from Ascend, in the form of a new keyboard, coiled cale and a desk pad.
The coiled cable is high quality and the connector seems incredibly strong, there is adequate length for the cable to plug into my PC about 3/4th a meter from the desk. The desk pads feels very well made, with anti-fraying stitching along the edges.
As to the keyboard itself, the sound is absolutely phenomenal, having come from a Ducky One previously this thing sounds like a dream. That also translates to the feeling of the keys themselves.
The product does not feel cheap even remotely, having a lot of heft to it.
My only gripe with the product is the software and associated documentation. I won't be docking any points as I appreciate they may be at the whim of a third party. Their Discord links to a piece of software for the TKL, that does not seem to work.
Upon further inspection and a lot of googling, the kit itself seems to be incompatible with the software. However, there does seem to be function key bindings that change the LED and several settings. I have since contacted Ascend regarding the software to see if I can get an update/clarification on its setup, and I will update this review once I hear back!
Overall, the product is well worth the money, and I will certainly be shopping there again for any of my needs.

Great customer service!
The order took a little longer than expected to arrive (a month and a half) but the customer service was great and quick to reply. Even when there was a slight issue Oscar was very quick to get things sorted and left us very happy. The quality of the keyboard is spot on, we can’t fault it. We will be using them again for sure, just order a little further in advance if it’s for a present!

Hello fellow consumers and workers at Ascend.
I made an order for a white coiled cable and some kiwi C3 switches. The coiled cable has been received and is as described, the switches are to be delivered to me shortly.
I was aware of the delays at the time of ordering, so will admit I did have to wait a little over a month.
Things have changed at Ascend Keyboards Limited during my time in the community, a new premise to work from and a restructuring of management has resulted in a complete turn around in service time which cannot be compared to the past experiences from customers.
I would certainly recommend joining their Discord for seasonal events, news on offers and even the option to vote on upcoming products.
The staff at Ascend are friendly, professional and insightful on what they offer, the Discord integration to this business allows another layer of modernisation whereby you have a hub of useful information and experienced members who can assist you in a potential future purchase.
I would recommend this company for those of you that enjoy the idea of putting your money where the service is, you are contributing to something that is expanding and growing in a marketplace that quite frankly, we all love and need.

Top quality product, worth the wait
Friendly, helpful and quality products!
Initially I was a little bit worried about this order as saw some comments about delays. There were internal restructures that have helped improved delivery times and communication has drastically improved. I appreciate that some of the delays were unavoidable due to being unable to acquire the stock required.
I did have a bit of a wait on my order but this was expected and was communicated ahead of placing the order. My order arrived today and can confirm it's well worth the wait. The improvement to my keyboard is huge and I would definitely recommend Ascend to someone else who is in the same position as me.
