Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 141 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the website to be full of fake profiles, bots, and scammers, making it difficult to connect with real people. They frequently reported being bombarded with messages and requests that quickly led to attempts to move conversations off-platform to apps like Telegram or WhatsApp, which users identified as a tactic by scammers. The pricing structure was a major point of dissatisfaction, with many feeling that the cost for credits was exorbitant and that the site was designed to quickly deplete their funds without providing genuine connections. Additionally, some users experienced difficulties with payment processing, leading to frustration and the need to cancel credit cards. Some people were dissatisfied with the customer support, reporting unresponsiveness when trying to address issues like missing credits or suspicious activity. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that with effort and a compelling profile, it was possible to find meaningful discussions and even meet partners, though this often required significant time and strategic engagement.

Biggest scam dating site I’ve ever…

Biggest scam dating site I’ve ever used. They give you a “free trial membership” but everything you do cost money, sending messages, winking , opening messages…. The only thing that is free is that you can look at profiles… ha! I can do that on any site! The only person I made contact with turned out to be some scam profile wanting my email address so they could send pics… save your time and don’t waste a single penny!! Not worth it

AM is a MAN SCAM, 10/22-12/24

Mass majority of women are fake, scammer, profiles flooding the site. No doubt in my mind that AM is in on it and most likely orchestrating it as they have only profit from it. TOTAL fraud being perpetuated on men. Women complain that after beginning to chat their profiles are canceled. Of couse. AM/the Tick, doesn't want to lose their paying "customer"/ the Dog. AM is a SCAM. It SUX and should be prosecuted.

Catfish.com

They should change the name to Catfished.com! It’s horrible, what a waste of money. The women try to get you to communicate off site then act like they have met their life long love to only end up asking for money.

Criminal

I wish I'd read the Trustpilot reviews before I was conned out of £60 to send a few messages to fake women. You get the odd "hello" or I've favourited you. Then you reply. That costs over £3. FOR ONE MESSAGE!! Then you might get a one word reply not responding to your question properly. You generally get no reply. Guess what they want you to message them again. It's supposed to be free this time!! Yea right!!

Clearly fraud.

The worst thing really is that it's just morally wrong to exploit people. There are many lonely chaps out there who just would like a partner.

I will report this site to the correct UK authorities who are beginning to take online crime more. seriously.

Rip off and straight up lies

Definitely don't recommend this site. Men have to pay for everything. They nickel and dime you to death. If you send a wink to someone you're interested in you'll get an email saying so and so sent you a message. That's a flat out lie. It's an automated response disguised as a real message. Lots of fake profiles and scammers. Lots of prostitutes, sugar babies, etc. Ashley Madison takes no accountability for allowing the fake profiles and won't refund your credits. Definitely look elsewhere.

A M is a total scam

A M is a total scam! I have been a member for around 3 months. 95% we're scams. They either want money or theY send you to a soft porn site to spend more money. I had one threaten me to pay or they would hack my social media. Total scams! The site should be shut down!

Ashley Madison Review: A Pricey Path to Disappointment

I gave Ashley Madison a try after months of skepticism, thinking I’d give it the benefit of the doubt despite the negative reviews. I contacted over 50 profiles in three months, and the results were abysmal: only 3 replies, and 2 were clearly fake profiles. The site is overwhelmed with bots and fake accounts—easily 90% of the profiles fall into this category. Many have no descriptions, minimal details, and conveniently list their weight at 90-110 lbs across the board. Profiles without pictures somehow “favorite” you, which makes zero sense.

Even when reporting fake accounts, nothing is done. It feels like the site thrives on the illusion of engagement, pushing users to spend money on coins with no real chance of connecting with genuine people. Expensive, frustrating, and disappointing. I regret wasting my time and money here. Save yourself the trouble and stay far away.

As a man...

As a man, you can sign up for free, but you cannot message anyone unless you pay crazy prices.

For example, the lowest package they have costs about $60 CA which gives you about 11 messages that you can send, with no guarantee of getting a reply. That equals out to be about $5.50 CA just to say "Hi."

And then you don't even know if you are talking to a real person or a bot.

Another thing I noticed is that immediately after signing up, I got plenty of winks and other indications of interest. However, within two days that all settled down to basically nothing. This reeks of bot-play, bots designed to motivate a response from you to use up any credits you may have very quickly.

Guys, listen to me. Stay the hell away from these hookup sites if you value your money. They literally prey on your desperation and will bleed you dry long before you ever actually hook up with anyone.

Bits and gotchas galore

I didn't check them out since the data leak gave me reason to think they might be legit. After signing up,vi got numerous likes and messages. If course, I can't read or send messages without coins. I decided to give it a real try and bought the low end membership. Bear in mind, each coin cost about $.50 and it took several coins to send a message but subsequent messages to the same person are free. The problem is that every message defaults to 'Priority' which costs 10 coins. It is an intentional thing to suck coins faster if you don't know to look for it. I have written to numerous accounts that Liked my profile or messaged me with no replies. It appears to be a bit farm.

At least 80 % of the accounts are fake…

At least 80 % of the accounts are fake bot accounts and since they are the posts that seem the most attractive and available, they will dominate your experience. A real waste of time and money. Don’t get sucked in. Easy to get addicted

I met the most evil narcissist woman I ever met in my life on Ashley Madison. I found later that she was a Santanist and completely screwed up mentally and still talking to her ex husband when she said she wasn't. Be careful with the people on this site!

AshleyMadison is full of their own in house profiles. They are not genuine🙁

They will reply to your first message just to lure you into the paid membership. Then you won't hear from them again. After wasting a few bucks on Ashley Madison I gave J7Fling.com
a go and it felt like a breath of fresh air. I was contacted by genuine girls💖 I could see it right off the bat that they were genuine. Then I met a couple of girls for real. I doubt that it would have ever been possible on AshleyMadison. Despite canceling my subscription, AshleyMadison still took $80 from my card. So when you cancel make sure that you close your account for real. For this you must contact their customer support more than once, you must be very insistent.

I have been on and off Ashley Madison…

I have been on and off Ashley Madison (AM) for the past 16 years. And from my experience relative to other dating sites, I suspect AM intervenes in determining what messages are delivered or not depending on the member's payment plan. And vice versa, if a member's message is received. A few years ago, AM was allegedly hacked, and I wondered if AM used it as a screen to exhort money from member's in exchange for keeping a member's ID private. I think AM is so governed by money at the expense of fair play and ethics.

It's free for women and very expensive for men which leads to tons of con artists trying to milk lonely and horny men for money

AshleyMadison has got extremely expensive. I can get a meeting within one or two days on AFFDate.com
for 10-20% of AshleyMadison fees. So if you feel the sudden urge to hook up a girl, AshleyMadison won't be in a good stead. They require to invest a lot of time and money in this process so it turns into an overpriced and meaningless drudgery.

Cash cow

As 'adult' dating sites go, this seems one of the better ones, with fewer fake / misleading profiles and quite a few attractive people. However, it's all ruined for me by their 'coin' system (which a lot of these sort of sites use) instead of a subscription, meaning that if you want to send lots of messages (and you have to of course) you have to spend an absolute fortune. It's a shame because in many other respects it seems a good site relative to others of this ilk.
