Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 141 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the website to be full of fake profiles, bots, and scammers, making it difficult to connect with real people. They frequently reported being bombarded with messages and requests that quickly led to attempts to move conversations off-platform to apps like Telegram or WhatsApp, which users identified as a tactic by scammers. The pricing structure was a major point of dissatisfaction, with many feeling that the cost for credits was exorbitant and that the site was designed to quickly deplete their funds without providing genuine connections. Additionally, some users experienced difficulties with payment processing, leading to frustration and the need to cancel credit cards. Some people were dissatisfied with the customer support, reporting unresponsiveness when trying to address issues like missing credits or suspicious activity. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that with effort and a compelling profile, it was possible to find meaningful discussions and even meet partners, though this often required significant time and strategic engagement.

They want fake profiles.

I made a profile on Ashley Madison a few years ago and met someone so thought I would try again so I made a new profile, then all of a sudden it was gone and it said temporarily closed so I went through the steps to find out what happened then called them to prove I was real and they said I have to prove I’m human by putting my drivers license or passport against my face and sending the picture which I will never do that not only is illegal in the state it’s insanity. They said it’s a third-party that gets that not them that was even worse because if something happens to my information floating around out there, they will not be held responsible for it. in our conversation I came to realize they don’t want many real women on there because they would rather have fakes so they can scam the men out of their money so I called him out on it and he started to stutter. I laughed and said, I guess with the real women on there you’re not making as much money hmmmmm then I ask do you believe I’m human? He said yes I said what’s the problem then I just proved it to you. I continue to ask questions he couldn’t answer of course because I figured it out what they’re doing.
It is not anywhere close to the way it used to be years ago. This site supposed to be discreet but yet there’s nothing discreet about it in what they want the women to do. Women please be careful going on there.
I have tried to make two more profiles which are automatically closed so I’m going to assume that I guessed correctly about the game they are playing, It’s all about your money guys so be careful. To many other sites out there that work that you don’t have to give up your identify for but they will ask for a picture which is perfectly fine with me.
I would never recommend Ashley Madison to anyone. I don’t even like giving it a one.

I've been on Ashley Madison for the…

I've been on Ashley Madison for the first month for 32.99 and then there was a surcharge for internet access it ended up costing me $70. Then you have to buy a minimum package of credits in order to be able to receive and send messages to any of the profiles. Then there was a reoccurring charge of $32.99 on my PayPal. At which point I decided to delete the account and stop the auto pay. First off I only message maybe 6 or 7 people/profiles .Each and every one of them was very nice and wanted to text me on Whatsapp or reg ph text. and sent me all these beautiful pictures the conversation would start off going very well they were always From A Distant location area code although their profile said that they were local to me they ended up saying that they were just visiting when they wrote the profile. Even so each and every one of them ended up asking me in so many words to invest money with them as they were a financial expert or to help them through a tough time etc etc. So then I went to cancel the subscription and there's these big harsh words that your credit card will be blacklisted and all this kind of stuff on the Ashley Madison site. I am just going to say that I think the whole thing is a predatory scam site and there is no way you're really going to meet a real person on there. Maybe they are a few real profiles but I certainly had not found any

A useless waste of time and money.

A useless waste of time and money.
Received numerous favourite strikes from all around the country, but nothing locally!?!?
Full of fake profiles and liars.
Not a chance getting any intimacy or excitement with this site, could barely generate a genuine chat.

Doesn’t work for me

I’ve been on this site for 4+ months. Yet to find a real person yet. Really getting adept at spotting phonies because there are so many. For a site that “reinvented” their platform after their data breach. Not sure AM isn’t any different than any other corporation $$$$$ and we’ll look the other way. Very disappointed and about to cancel my profile.
It’s been nothing but a frustrating waste of time. And in their own defense. Online dating is full of hustlers and soulless parasites across the board. Why am I here, because where I live most of the women already have girlfriends. So buyer beware and be very careful

Great for women & not for most men

There are real women on the website, but be aware that you'll need to be patient, be willing to spend some funds, and there are scammers who will attempt to extort you. Scammers will create profiles, and they will quickly temp you to pay for a background check at a site they'll list, they ask that you send money for a new pair of eye glasses, and etc. If you're an average guy then you're going to feel rejected a lot. Women are after the guys with status, wealth, and looks. With men greatly outnumbering women by many factors, women are going to be very very picky, including women who are not as appealing. If you're a guy with youth, looks, status, or wealth then you'll do very well with more than one. If you're none of above, there's still a chance, but you're going to struggle. Just be patient, don't have high expectations, and be ready for some rejection. There are definitely some negative experiences associated with this website. If you can handle that and keep expectations real you may eventually meet someone and maybe connect. There is a way to report scammers to the site's tech support, and they do investigate, and remove scammers when they're identified. I reported more than a handful of times, and only one remained on the site after 12 hours. The problem is that scammers come back onto the site using a different profile. This is a legitimate website, but it's laced with dangers to your wallet, your psychological health, and perhaps to your existing relationships. 5 stars great website for Chad and rather a crappy 1 star for an average guy. So, 90% of guys it's horrible. For women, no matter your situation or status, it's really awesome for 95% of you. In any case, be careful using this site

Overpriced, Unbalanced, and Disappointing Experience

I joined Ashley Madison in January 2025, investing a total of £340.97, expecting a premium platform for like-minded individuals. Unfortunately, my experience has been frustrating, costly, and completely misaligned with the service advertised.
Despite reaching out to 32 women, the response rate was shockingly low—many didn’t even read my messages, while others ignored or rudely dismissed them. The platform’s pay-to-message model for men, while allowing women free access, creates a severe imbalance, leading to wasted time and money. With the high cost of initial messages and no guarantee of engagement, it quickly becomes an expensive exercise with little return.
Additionally, the lack of real-time chat features, engagement incentives, and etiquette standards makes meaningful connections nearly impossible. Ashley Madison’s marketing suggests a discreet, high-quality experience, but the reality is far from it. I would strongly caution anyone considering joining—this platform is overpriced, ineffective, and unfairly structured.
Avoid unless you enjoy throwing money away.

The site as a female is not the best

The site as a female is not the best, the men can send you nude photos, offer you all types of things, and the women are automatically blocked or removed if they entertain it. The double standards is disgusting, I don’t see them being around for a long, considering all I see it’s the same men rotating in my options

It's free for women and very expensive for men which leads to tons of con artists trying to milk lonely and horny men for money and considering the data leak with the unverified robots that you are messaging it is a total waste of time scam.

Scam STAY AWAY!

Scam, do not waste your money on this site, It's way too expensive for the amount of work you need to do to vett these "women" I've have yet to meet someone who is local. If you do blow your cash on this, be prepared to spend your time trying to see if these people are real or scammers. The site will allow you to report them. but i think this should be on their to-do list. F that site.

Someone in the legal realm needs to…

Someone in the legal realm needs to pursue this commerce website. Million$ pouring into there online revenue for nothing. Not one single real human interaction, or no genuine profiles. People need serious help if this is their idea of entertainment. I tried it a year ago. Disaster. Again two weeks ago (and more educated) and its a sham. And the even fed me free ‘coins’, without purchase (why ? I have no clue). Bigger time wasting than even cash outlay. Don’t even open it. If its a fling you seek, your luck will be better at the bar or work. Dating? Match, eharmony, etc. I’d love to see AM’s financials. Sick but effective business model.

Don't do it relaxe don't do it 3 months worth of giving my money away

I really don't know what I was thinking the 2 time for me another $400 insanity doing the same thing and expecting different results!
All the numbers I got , were from some other state when they did answer or call you , you could tell right away.it was Ukraine or Russia or a woman's voice with an English accent with men speaking in the background are you there are you there I can't hear you I can't hear you are you there . One girl I did me she wanted me to sign my old paycheck over to her every week lol that was just a walk down the sidewalk . So to sum it all up save your money try online booty call that one actually is more legit than any of them
Happy hunting ladies and gentlemen

Biggest scam dating site I’ve ever…

Biggest scam dating site I’ve ever used. They give you a “free trial membership” but everything you do cost money, sending messages, winking , opening messages…. The only thing that is free is that you can look at profiles… ha! I can do that on any site! The only person I made contact with turned out to be some scam profile wanting my email address so they could send pics… save your time and don’t waste a single penny!! Not worth it
