Honestly very poor service. Decided to go with these guys as was GETTING MARRIED. wanted a nice fitting suit. Had to wait months to find out the initial measurements were completely wrong. Unable to change it/alter it before my wedding. Unbelievable. If I could give these guys a 0 out of 5 I would. Didn't even offer me any alternatives when it was there fault I'm the beginning. I mean how can you make such big mistakes when measuring??? That should be bread and butter. NEVER GO WITH THESE GUYS.
Please avoid the headache and try…
Please avoid the headache and try another tailor. I bought made to measure suit over a year ago due to the various fitting and time delays I never quite got the perfect suit. My last visit to them they took my suit to make the necessary adjustments (mainly the sleeves were too narrow), but never heard from them again and found online that my suit was discontinued. I was aware of all the negative feedback, but what angered me more was these emails enticing more customers to place orders. At the end of the day the company is a gimmick which over promises and never delivers (quite literally). Very luckily I managed to get a credit card refund as they understood customer service.
Just like a lot of the comments on…
Just like a lot of the comments on here...avoid! I made an order in January and still waiting.
Their customer service is abysmal, if you do get through which is near impossible you will be met with the same response..2 weeks. Never received an email/call to inform me of delays.
This is my 3rd time ordering with ASTF. Kicking myself for not heeding the warnings. I first came across ASTF when they visited our offices, nearly everybody who ordered from them has experienced long delays.
Like some of the previous posts I was seduced by an offer which was too good to be true.
Heed my advice...AVOID!
Bought 5 shirts on the 10th July…
Bought 5 shirts on the 10th July 2018 and at the time of writing 23/04/2019 they still haven't arrived. I have given up and will reclaim my money via my credit card company. And that is despite being a very good customer since 2011. Shame however I would not recommend asuitthatfits to anyone.
ASTF - The reviews say it all just move on find another Tailor !!!
ASTF seemed a good option when choosing a bespoke suit tailor. How wrong was I !!! The first red flag should have been the Regis office I went to in Birmingham to get measured back in November 2018. Then there was the upfront payment, again i thought nothing of it. But as with all the other reviews from Dec 2018 onward, i never saw any of the items despite several efforts to get updates. I then turned to my credit card company to complain. They were brilliant, thankyou VISA. They gave ASTF 30 days to respond to the claim which they obviously didn't as i had all £1124 of it refunded onto my credit card today. Do not deal with these bandits you will not get your stuff!!
Bought 10 shirts early January and nothing...
Bought 10 shirts early January and now nearly 4 months later I can’t get any update on where they are, I am actually not sure if this business is still in operation?
Worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with
If it seems to good to be true....
Last June I started making investigations regarding suits for my wedding. Having never had a tailored suit before, I went to a couple of places to look at fabrics and discuss the process. The customer experience at A Suit That Fits was superb, and although the price quoted was more expensive, the way I was treated inspired confidence. I decided to leave it for a while, as I had plenty of time, but a couple of months later, out of the blue, I received an email offering a £1000 voucher for £500. Seems like a no brainer, right? I'd already had a good experience there, and now they were offering me a discount. I purchased the voucher, feeling very pleased with myself.
Fast forward to November 2018, and I made an appointment to actually be measured for an order a suit. Sam, the consultant we originally dealt with, was no longer there, but I had an appointment with Nick. He was very good, and again I had an excellent customer experience, however I was also told that the majority of the fabrics that I had seen were no longer available, because they had lost their main supplier. This should have been my first alarm bell. We looked at what was available, and there was only one thing I liked, but Nick then made a phone call, and it turned out that they had a new contract and the original fabric I wanted was now available, so I ordered my suit. I was told the turnaround would be approximately 2 months.
In December 2018, I started receiving emails from them every day with new special offers. At the end of the month, I received an offer for 2 suits for the price of 1. I still needed to get suits for my best men, so I jumped on this. This time, when I made payment, instead of paying by card, I was given bank account details so I could do a transfer, which I thought was a little strange, but I didn't think any more of it.
I made another appointment 2 weeks later to order for my best men. I discovered at that time that their West End office had closed, and the person I had spoken to a week before had left the company. A lot of closures and people leaving!?
At that appointment, I was told that because I paid for the voucher by bank transfer, I would need to pay the balance by bank transfer, which I did. Oh what a mistake that was!
After I paid them the money, I did not receive an order confirmation, so I called their support line to try and sort it out. This is where I discovered the complete nightmare that is their nonexistent customer support. I had extreme difficulty getting through to anyone, I would often be on hold for 10 minutes, and a lot of the time it would just cut me off before getting through to someone. It took nearly two weeks after paying them to get the order actually confirmed. After that experience I decided to do some checking, and that's when I came across the reviews on this site. If only I had checked earlier!
The company is clearly going under, and in an attempt to shore themselves up, they are taking money for orders that they are not capable of fulfilling. It has been 4 months since I ordered my original suit, 2 and a half months since my best men suits. In that time I have not had one progress report or any contact with them that was not initiated by me. Getting through to them by phone is almost impossible. If you have the time to be on hold for half an hour then after several persistent calls you might get through. When you do, it's always the same story. "We know it's taking a long time, just another couple of weeks. Sorry you can't get through, we are very busy, high call volume, there is a problem with our phone lines etc"
It's all blatant lies. They have almost no-one working in their back office, and no-one manning the phones full time. Don't even bother emailing them, you will get no reply.
I will now be making other arrangements, and requesting a refund in writing, which I am sure they will not respond to. After that the next step will be to take them to small claims court. Hopefully I can get my £1700 back before they go totally under, but I'm not holding my breath. The worst part is that this is all for my wedding, and this experience has tainted the process of getting a suit.
These people are trading completely fraudulently, and I am stunned at how brazen they are. Their CEO is a monumental pr*ck for taking my money. I hope they go bust, but not before they refund my money.
Do not use them, and tell everyone you know not to.
Always remember, BUYER BEWARE!
Read the reviews below
Read the reviews below - my experience the same. 3 shirts paid for and never received. Don't go anywhere near this place. I'm going to arrange an appointment to pop in and, "have a chat".
Anyone received a refund?
As everyone else below...I was promised a "perfect" suit almost 2 years ago now for my wedding. Had to eventually go out and buy another 2 days before my wedding.
I was promised a 50% refund with the option of tailoring a brand new bespoke suit. I accepted (I was just frustrated with their customer service and wanted an end to it all). Still nothing.
About a year later, I call them due to pathetic delays, awful measuring etc. My suit arrived through post and it was AWFUL. Measurements were all over the place. I called them up and let them know that I did not want any further tailoring appointments, it was just a waste of time. I asked them to process my refund (I would have just accepted the 50% and wash my hands with them). Since then, I have contacted them every month.
I am always told it is in process and can only be signed off by the CEO (who is scum as everyone knows!). I can now no longer reach them at all.
I wish to go for a full refund now because I am so annoyed - a waste of £1300.
Can anyone advise on steps they have taken that have been successful? I would have taken legal steps but this will cost more than I would get out of it which is so unfair.
Hope to hear some success stories.
Absolute fraudsters - avoid like the plague
Absolute fraudsters. It's nearly a year since I paid for my suit, and I still don't have it. I was promised a refund in October 2018, but that's never appeared, and whenever I chase, nobody answers the Customer Services telephone, nor do they respond to emails.
I notice that they are still spamming me with "special offer - pay up front" emails. I assume that the company is in financial difficulty, and is punting out these offers to try to get some money into the business.
Do not touch with a barge pole - one of the worst companies I've had the misfortune to deal with.
I was told to call my credit card…
I was told to call my credit card company for a refund. Need I say any more? In retrospect, the "incredible" voucher offers, where you pay up front for a suit, in the future, were just that... not credible.
Hanging by a thread ...,
10 year and happy customer who grabbed an email offer in Oct. Measured up and met 3 tailors in the mortgage / city office. 6months down the line I don’t have a suit or email but someone did pick up the phone today who gave me the new factory story...”flooded and unoperatiobal due to weather! But your suit will be ready in 2 weeks”
Having read these reviews I’m really not so sure! The thing that really gets me is those tailors back in Oct clearly knew and still took my money.
Until further notice -sadly I must say “Avoid” and although I expect the firm to go under, I hope it doesn’t
Dishonest fraudsters
I was measured for a suit on 19th April 2018 and was required to pay in full in advance. It is now 11 months on. They have not made the suit. They do not reply to me. I am suing them.
I've waited nearly a year...
I've been waiting nearly a year for my shirts. After I paid c.£100 extra for a 2-week turnaround.
The first one didn't fit or even nearly fit. Its replacement was of mediocre fit but of very poor quality. The remaining 4 shirts I await....
On the rare occasions I get through by phone or spend time and fare money attending one of their studios, I feel I'm lied to. (Being told they're "In production" wears thin after several months).
I'd recommend avoiding this firm.
Think they are going bust.
I bought my wedding suit and shirt from ASTF. I found a fault with the suit and the shirt sleeves were too short so I returned them for alteration. I started getting concerned about the state of their business when I was struggling to get a response from Customer Service to have a repeat appointment to make sure that my garments were correctly sized and finished. I eventually managed to speak to them and asked them just to send everything back by courier as they could not promise me a fitting appointment in a week's time as "the diary wasn't available". When my garments returned today, the fault has been "fixed" in an atrocious way and the shirt has had nothing done to it despite being with them for two months. Avoid this company like the plague.
Fraud
Fraud - made an appointment but now can’t get hold of anyone (their tech team don’t even respond).
Something has clearly happened to this business that hey aren’t advising customers of.
AVOID
Great frontline staff terribly let down but their owners & senior management
UPDATE TO PREVIOUS POST
Having paid for suits upfront, and having had one fitting I had then heard nothing, couldn't get hold of anyone by email or phone and seriously feared that I would never see the suits I had paid for.
However, I noticed the website was still live and accepting bookings so I figured I would try it and hope to speak to a real person. I half-expected to find boarded-up windows when I got there but was delighted to discover they are still operating. And even better I walked out with my 1st suit (that fits well and I'm very happy with!).
So, what the hell has been going on? Discussed at length with Nick (who has worked for them for 10 years) and seems to me a genuinely nice guy who desperately wants to do the right thing by his customers.
They had serious issues in the middle of 2018. Lost their Nepalese factory (they're in dispute with them still) and also lost most of their back-office support staff. Liquidity became extremely tight, partly because of Nepal but also they had tried to expand aggressively which didn't really work out. They got their new Vietnamese factory up and running but the overhang of issues very nearly put them out of business (they had to stop trading for a period in Jan 2019).
However, a change in ownership is progressing and they are now back in business, taking orders and delivering suits again. They're still operating off a skeleton staff without any real customer service support but the situation appears to be improving.
ADVICE: If you are in the position of having paid for suits but now can't get hold of any updates, log in to your account, book an appointment and the use the freeform box on that screen (I think it's called "Additional comments" or something like that) to outline the situation. The people who do the fittings will see this text and can actually do something to respond! (It's not completely clear why they don't have a single person in customer service but I guess that's the first thing they'll fix once the ownership is resolved.)
I really hope these guys get through this tough period. Everyone I've dealt with on the ground has been 1st class and the suits have always represented very good value (I've had 6 suits from them). But clearly they're not out of the woods yet and I suspect the brand is irreparably damaged.
If ordering a new suit, my sense is you'll eventually end up with a great suit for great price, but it might take a while. And you'll probably want to make sure you pay for it on a credit card that provides decent insurance in case they go out of business before they deliver your suit (I actually don't think they'll go under now but clearly still a risk!).
Non-existant customer services, hoping suits eventually arrive....
Is there any way to currently get in touch with anyone at A Suit That Fits? I order suits in October. In December when I was calling after the initial date had passed I was able to get through to customer service though they were not able to tell me that I would hear by the end of the month. Given December I gave them grace until mid-January. I was able to get through again and told I'd hear by the end of the month. this month I am now completely unable to get a response to either phone calls or emails. It's been 16 weeks since I placed my order and I am yet to hear back at all let alone have any fitting appointments.
you are, interestingly able to book appointments online. Tempted to do this so that at least I could tray talking to someone face-to-face.
Assume others are in the same boat? I really couldn't recommend ASTF given the absolutely terrible customer service.
Same as other recent reviews - poor customer service
Same as other recent reviews - ordered a suit in November 2018, told 6 weeks delivery, then heard nothing. After lots of unanswered emails, eventually got an apologetic response saying would be 10 January 2019. That came and went, and after lots more unanswered emails, I eventually contacted my credit card company and raised a chargeback :(
Negligent customer service
I'm a repeat customer, having ordered from A Suit That Fits many times in the past. Previous orders (before the ownership change) had been a positive experience and great customer service. My last order in November was the polar opposite. Whilst the initial consultation was (as usual) very good, customer service following this has been appalling, to say the least.
I was told the order would take 6 weeks. 6 weeks later, no email, no call to tell me why it was delayed. I called the helpline. Rather than being answered in the UK, this went through to a call centre in India. The person dealing with this couldn't tell me anything useful about my order, and just told me it should be another week. Another week later, no call, no emails, logged in online and nothing had changed. Tried phoning the helpline, but no answer so I left a voicemail, I've not received any reply since. Sent them an email, but no email reply since.
I decided that if this is how customers are treated when their orders are late, it's a very bad sign of the state of the company and that I would reclaim the money via the credit card company (through which I've now received my refund).
I'm sorry to say that the company is now letting down its existing customers and staff. What was once a successful story (at least from a customer satisfaction perspective), is now a nightmare.
If you cannot respect customers who have paid good money, by at least communicating properly when things are late, then you do not deserve to be in businesss. I would strongly suggest that anyone thinking of placing an order does not, as your money, or time, would be put at risk.
