All well until one day they stopped sending me OTP texts to log into my audible. I have over 200 titles and still keep paying monthly for over a year now without access in hopes I can at some poin... See more

Charged me for nothing
Audible UK are taking charges from my credit card. I don't have a subscription, haven't made any purchases. When I phoned them with details to enquire they told me they could not even look at the system to check.
Waste of money.
I have the basic account called STANDARD. I can get a new audio book credit a month. That’s £5.99 a month.. For one book credit 💁💩
The next level up is £9.99 a month. PREMIUM. But hey they won’t DELETE your purchases if to stop this subscription! unfortunately that tells you they did delete your old purchases before. Wow. So can I listen……AGAIN………to that stuff I bought years ago on a lower plan? Oooooooh noooooo. Please. Not that way! Not like that! How can they take away that rubbish I loved. Life. Must. End. Oh. And still only one credit a month
One more standard level up for the truest needy £14.99 a month. But wow, un to 2
Credits now
Zero customer support
All the time things are working not an issue with them. However two weeks ago my app stopped working and gave me a server error message. I have spent hours on the phone with them, they escalated it to tier 3 technical support who emailed to say to go onto the app and do this and that. The point is the app is not allowing me to log in my account. They just closed the ticket, I had to call again so they reopened it and still nothing happened. All they do is read a script and nobody is looking into the issue. I asked for the complaint department’s email address and they said there is no such thing. Diabolical customer support!
Beware of the "Ghost Subscription" Trap
Well it worked wonderfully until it didn't. Like some of other users I was tricked into a ghost subscription paying it for years until I realised what happened. The customer service was awful and I don't think they are empowered to really help at all. No number to dial, just the faceless chat. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because the few books I bought with "free" credit worked OK. But my customer experience was zero. Buyer beware.
They'll steal your audiobook
Removed my audioback and scrubbed it from both purchase and listening history.
FREE TRIAL IS A SCAM
FREE TRIAL IS A SCAM.
completely false advertised "free introductory offer" scam says you will get 3 free credits for three months then they will resume in to a normal subscription.
However what they do is give you 1 free credit and charge you for the subscription anyway.
then when you try to unsubscribe from their emails the link just takes you to a page trying to advertise more of their titles and services.
Underhand tactics , deliberately hiding things in the small print , misleading, a complete bunch of thieves like the parent amazon who is rising to riches simply by stealing people money
Credit card scammed by Audible UK
Despite having a cancelled Australian Audible account, Audible UK have allowed 10 fraudulent transactions on the saved credit card that was on my account to be processed in the UK scamming me out of $1300 . Multiple payments going out to Audible UK on the same day and multiple days over a 2 week period. When I spoke to the bank the customer service told me that there were actually about 18 attempts to charge my account which 8 were declined and yet 10 went through. Now I have the annoying job of cancelling all my subscriptions and deleting my cancelled card from everything else due to their incompetent security system. If you have a cancelled membership delete your saved card now!
WARNING – Now only 3 Returns
WARNING – we all know how difficult it can be to find what you want on Audible, despite a massive library. So, if you've got the monthly account, it's easy to end up with over 3 credits. Shockingly, Audible are now limiting you to JUST 3 RETURNS. I've just cancelled my subscription, losing 2 credits. Now looking for a more reputable supplier.
Had been with Audible for OVER 20 years.
Customer 'tec support' useless
Customer 'tec support' useless. App bugs not fixed for months on end. Tec support literally just googling fixes (which don't work). Told to wait 24 hours (for no reason other than Princess appeared to have run out of solutions and wanted someone else to take on the problem I think). Garbage. If you have a choice, go to another audiobook provider
There are always problems with Audible…
There are always problems with Audible and when you then use your time to contact them, they do not listen to what you are saying.
I just spent hours trying to make them understand my problem, and wrote the problem as if they were 5 years old. But they still did not understand.
I am a reviewer, so receive free books in exchange for honest reviews. However, with one series of 12 books, 4 of them showed an error when I tried to review, so I was not able to. The rest, I reviewed, only to find out that the reviews were not saved even though it clearly said "review submitted". I had of course not saved the reviews anywhere, so had just wasted HOURS of work and had to start over. It was a ton of reviews and the new ones were not nearly as good or detailed. I was heartbroken! And frustrated for wasting my time. When I contacted "customer service", I literally used another two HOURS getting thrown around with NOBODY understanding the problem or severity. It was a complete waste of time.
When I went on to review other stories by the same author, I can got the error "Review not available for this title. You haven't listen to enough of this title, or it isn't included in your current membership". Even though I had finished all AND reviewed others with no problems.
Impossible to access account
My account was linked to a now defunct work email (which the website would not allow me to change - I tried this numerous times) now I am unable to log in. There is no way to contact customer services without logging in. Had to block the payments via my bank, which thankfully worked. Also they keep updating their plans to far worse deals for the consumer, no one cares about their crappy podcasts and we want to be able to OWN our books and NOT lose credits just because we haven't used them in a month. I doubt they read or respond to anything on here but I'm hoping this puts others off of signing up with this absolute sham of a company.
Useless Customer Service
I somehow signed up for a free trial.
I didn't want it so tried to contact Audible via the chat messaging service.
I explained my problem to at least 3 representatives .....authorized who I was etc etc, they just kept 'airing me'......it was very strange.
I could occasionally see someone was typing but then it would stop and there would be nothing for another 7 minutes. If there is no action it 'times out' automatically. So it's very frustrating.
I am still none the wiser if they have cancelled it .....probably not as noone was responding 🤣
It made me certain I don't want an audible account anyway!!!!!
I love it
I love it, personally. I use it all the time when I'm travelling!
Unauthorised Debits
I set up an a free trial account with Audible for my wife but she didn't like it. So I cancelled it and I no longer have an active account. Yet randomly they debit my card for audio book orders. I have managed once to actually speak and get a refund in full. But now it's nigh on impossible to physically speak to anyone in Customer Service about my recent purchase that I didn't make and I'd like refunding.
Chat doesn't work when it is one way only
I have bought several audio books. I tried to buy one today and was asked to agree to a google contract? I searched help on audible and there was no where to leave a message about this. I received a lot of messages but none relating to my issue. A chat is not a chat when it's only one way.
Signed up for a free trial, didn't check the reviews first.
Signed up for a free trial. First book was supposed to be included, but my "library" showed that I had two copies; one I was charged for and the "free" one was cancelled. I used chat (blocked), "call me back" (blocked) and eventually wrote emails to the executive department at Amazon. They merely said that the complaint has been passed on.
Today I decided to cancel, so changed all my credit card details, as you can't delete it. Then at the cancel screen there was a chat option which worked this time and they reluctantly and standoffishly agreed to a refund. I use Amazon a lot and am 98% satisfied, but this shower bring the business into disrepute.
Dreadful company with some of the worst…
Dreadful company with some of the worst customer support I've seen for a long while. No one seems to really care that you have a problem. There's no way to complain / escalate any issues you're having just simply meh not my problem. Have a nice day.
They stole my credits
My phone got so old that the app could no longer run audible, but I didn't cancel my membership, as I expected to get a new one soon. Quite a bit of time passed, and Audible took money out of my account each month.
When I finally got a new phone, I installed Audible on it, and expected to see that I had a lot of credits to spend, but to my surprice it said "0 credits".
I contacted the chat to figure out what had happened, and they said my membership had been cancelled, due to my creditcard expirering, but if I gave them a new card, I they could reactivate my account.
So I entered a new card, and got the "your debit card has been successfully added to your Amazon wallet"- message, and after I verified my card, I got the "card verified"... yet the system at Amazon still wasn't able to use that card, and claimed that my bank had declined my card, despite there being plenty of money on the account, and the card working fine in other online shops.
So I guess my credits are just gone now, as Amazon's paymment system basically just doesn't work, and their employees can't fix it.
What a waste of time.
The app is so poorly designed
The app is so poorly designed. A remarkable achievement. I am so irritated by it that i am cancelling my membership.
Simple things like it not showing when 2 for 1 offers come up
Cant preorder a book i wanted without logging in outside of the app
Needless waste of my time.
