I have literally saved a fortune and received the best customer service I have had in many a year.
I am the owner of a 1980's Bernina 1130 sewing machine which came with 7 presser feet. Additional feet cost a small fortune so I was surfing the internet to see if I could pick up a genuine Bernina zipper foot cheaply. By happy accident this ultimately led me to Austin Sewing Machines and the £9.99 Bernina- Compatible adaptable presser foot snap-on shank holder which can be used in conjunction with generic feet.
I emailed to check it would fit my model and received a very speedy reply to confirm it would. I placed the order in the late afternoon and received it at 10am the following day.
It is fantastic!! I already had a number of snap on feet for a more basic machine and the adaptable shank allows me to use all of them on my Bernina. The genuine presser foot would have cost £35 for one. For £9.99 plus postage I can use my new adaptable shank with all the feet I have already.
I am genuinely delighted with my purchase and the service. Thank you

Great company, very helpful, impressive and prompt service

Bought a brother walking foot at a bargain price. Arrived quickly and we'll packaged.
They do use their own packaging for their products so don't be surprised if it doesn't come in original packing.

Had an Austen sewing machine as a present. I'm not used to this sort of machine and had trouble working out how to thread it. Eventually got onto customer services who have been great. Replying promptly to my emails full of nonsensical autocorrections. They intend to make a short video to show me more precisely. I really can't fault them. James especially has been more than helpful and patient.

Excellent customer service from James. He checked the part would fit my model and said I could return it if it didn’t. Arrived the following day, and it fitted my machine. I ordered a few items all of which were very good value. I would definitely buy from this company again.

They took great care to verify that the item to be supplied was the correct one for my sewing machine, then promptly posted the item to me, arriving the next day, nicely wrapped to ensure no damage in transit, all for a reasonable price. What great customer service!

I bought an Austin for my mum, she’s a retired professional seamstress with over 50 years experience. Before her Austin she’d only used Singer or Brother and was extremely dubious when I handed her the machine.

I reached out to Austin, a chap called James, because my mum wanted a hard copy of the manual, he couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Long story short (or not quite so long) my mum is over the moon with her sewing machine and the great features. She thought the stitches were too small but with the manual she now knows how to adjust the size and couldn’t be happier (and she’s very hard to please!!!)

All my dealings ASM have been positive. Their customer service were very quick to respond to my questions, and helped me find the right part to order. The part arrived quickly, and worked as advertised. I guess the real test of a company is when something goes wrong, and how they respond. Nothing has gone wrong so far. So, I can only give them 5 stars.

What a bespoke service! I lost the footer from my machine while in transit. I order what I thought might fit but it didn’t. I then asked Jamie at Austin machines for help. I received an email that evening with a possible suggestion and, sure enough, 3 days later I’m happily seeing again. Absolutely blown away with the personal response in next to no time. Would highly recommend using this company. I also ordered a pair of their dressmaking scissors and they are fabulous too!

Bought machine via Amazon in April 2021. OK for a few months then began jamming in hook race area. Unjamming was possible as this area has to be dismantled for cleaning, but the frequent necessity became a nuisance so I needed it repaired under the warranty. I contacted Austin and we agreed a collection date. Then came my first disadvantage - I hadn’t keep the original packaging. I took photos of each stage of my own packaging of the machine as I anticipated difficulties on that point, and I was right to do so. Following collection of the machine, they have used all kinds of contradictory reasons as to why they will not repair and return the machine free of charge under the warranty, including an initial assertion that no warranty existed. In response, I have provided photos and various kinds of evidence to justify my claim and have copied the email trail to Amazon who are currently trying to settle the dispute for me. This is an extremely unprofessional company and I would never recommend buying from them.

Junk. Cheap Vietnamese junk at that.

Used approximately six times, with varied issues. Now the motor has burnt out and the crap thing doesn't work. Can't get in touch with the seller for love or money. Will stick to Toyota or Singer in future. Worthless warranty.

Got a machine for christmas it broke after a year of light use, took to a local repair shop who can't fix this machine brand so thought I would go through warranty as it supposedly has 2 years, I have emailed twice, left a message on their FB, tried calling the phone number on the website, no answer to any. Complete waste of time and money do not buy this unreliable, impossible to contact brand. As other reviews, I wish I had checked reviews before asking for one of these machines.

I wish i had read the reviews on this company, before i wasted my time trying to order parts.

I ordered a small part for my sewing machine it arrived within a couple of days. Excellent service, good value and will purchase from them again.

BEWARE THIS SELLER.

I ordered a ruffler foot from Amazon with item being sold and dispatched by Austin Sewing Machines. The ruffler foot worked for about 2 minutes before bending my needle which then damaged my sewing machine.

I contacted them to return the item and was told I would have to post it back (and obtain proof of postage) at my expense.

Unfortunately I cannot get to a post office to do this due to the COVID-19 situation.

Be VERY wary of purchasing an item that could damage your machine, from a seller who will then expect you to return the item at your own response and will simply not reply to your “contact seller” messages.

Such a shame as I’ve heard great things about ruffler feet and was really looking forward to using this. Previous purchases from Austin Sewing Machines have been OK but it’s VERY clear they’re only interested in customers when they’re happy.

Just wanted a spool case. Ordered through Amazon. Didn't come. No answer from company. Ordered again. Hasn't come. No response from company. Guessing if it's not a big order, you don't get priority. Don't waste your time with this company.
