Bank dispute got my money back
Hello everyone.
I had the same dreadful experience with skiddle and the jaly group.
After much of a do I eventually raised a dispute with my bank.
It took time but barclays finally got me a full refund on my tickets.
Worth pursuing so scam companies don't get away with it!
Never use Skiddle
Agree with the other comments about Skiddle. A complete lack of integrity in issuing refunds for an event the organisers cancelled! Skiddle blame the organisers (Jaly Concerts) or Stripe, who handle the receipts. I suspect these companies all work very closely together in their own best intertest. Definitely a scam entity and a scam event.
Festival canceled, no refund offered.
My husband bought us tickets for the Southampton festival which was canceled. Now they are refusing to give us a ticket refund.
Southampton Festival cancelled
Southampton Festival cancelled, refusing to give a refund for tickets, very poor.
Southampton Event moved from 11/8 + 12/8 to 28/9…
Event moved from 11/8 + 12/8 to 28/9 +29/9 few days before event cancelled, allegedly due to security concerns. Skiddle advised to contact organisers direct for refund, referred to previous correspondence for contact details but there wasn't any, but kept 12% booking fee. Tracked & sent email to detailing purchase, order number, method of payment, dates, venue etc. no surprise no response to date. Will never trust another event like this again. Scam scam scam.
Complete Farce…
More than half the acts advertised weren't there oasis, Fleetwood mac, stone roses etc etc. Apparently spice girls car broke down so was filled in with a random who had played Robbie Williams badly for about a hour and a half. It was about 7pm when we decided to leave.
We paid 60 odd a ticket for VIP just to here in toilet from a girl and her friend they were just giving away free tickets on Facebook, that's how her and her friend got in.
On arrival my sure spray deodorant was taken of me because its liquid? I Sprayed it to show its powder but it was still taken. I'm just glad I didn't take my perfume. Nothing on page about this only said no food or drink which we didn't take.my friend had a roll on deodorant which was liquid but she was allowed to keep it.
Plastic glasses allowed but they tried to take them also.
It was a complete farce and would not recommend at all.
Absolutely rubbish due to organisers
No information about line up times beforehand, 3 of the advertised acts we wanted to see not there. I bought a can of cider and when I returned for a second they were sold out at both bars, we had vip tickets but only went in to check the bar which had barely any drinks and use the posh loo that had piles of soaking toilet roll piled next to the sink. Absolute rip off, time felt like it was going in reverse and we gave in and left at 8.30pm. Worse music event I have attended
Poor
I enjoy any festivals /events . This was so poor though at scone . Waited ages for the next acts to come on , a lot of the acts didn’t show up either . Heard lots of people around us complaining about various things about the festival . Kids looked bored and a lot of disappointed faces . Couple of acts were good but the whole event was poorly organised and overpriced food and drink . We just tried to make the most of it though . Our vibe picked up once ABBA was on. Felt bad for VIP area as looked poor & lots of people who didn’t pay got through anyway as security were not checking. Thought it was poor to pay extra for parking, told once your in you can’t go back to your car and in again . Later on when it was cold loads of ppl wanted hot chocolate /hot drink , only one van left tea/coffee left to offer after waiting in queue
look a like festival…
Just attended the look a like festival Scone, and to be fair the acts themselves were actually very good. Even though it was different bands on the day than as advertised. You can't compare it to larger festivals at Scone as it really is a kid sister next to them.
Cons.
Not allowed to leave once in. My husband was not drinking, we had our car and had planned to go check on our dog. Nope not allowed. (Luckily a friend stepped in and dog sat!)
Shockingly expensive once inside. I was charged £3 for a paper cup of barrs coke from a 2 litre bottle not even an individual can or bottle. £3 for a small bottle of water! £4 for a SMALL plastic cup of slush for the kids.
This is supposed to be a family friendly event, but charging silly prices for water and soft drinks. All the food vendors were also told they were not allowed to sell any drinks. One vendor wasn't even allowed to sell coffee or hot choc with his churros as the bar were supposed to be selling it. That section closed early, just when it got really cold and you needed something warm.
Alcohol was ridiculously expensive £8 for a cheap (unknown)label single vodka with barrs coke. No fridges just cans sitting on trestle tables after a cash and carry run! £30 for a bottle of wine you'd be better stripping paint with.
We bought vip early tickets and couldn't really complain. There were benches and a good view of the stage with an area at the front.
Again the bands we did get were very good, it's just a shame it's ruined by sheer greed & exorbitant over pricing once in. The star is for the acts as the rest of it was a complete rip off. I can't see this lasting long or having repeat business which is a shame, with reasonable policies, pricing and selection it would be much better.
Really wouldn't bother
Really wouldn't bother, better sticking on youtube and blasting your favourite songs to a morrisons cheap bottle of wine. Never rant very easily pleased to be honest. This was a shambles 4 tributes act by 8pm started at 12 yaaay. Random songs played inbetween this to keep people entertained, yup unbelievable I know.charge £16 for two vodkas and cokes watched him pour the juice but he enjoyed us staring at his back while he poured the vodkas, the juice yuk 39p bottle you get from asda cheapest of the cheap, £8 nah maybe coca cola next time thanks considering the price. Couldn't even taste the vodka infact was surprised their was any in it charged £30 for bottle of wine which is under £7 in morrisons shambles from start to finish not well organised again not one to moan but wow just wow
Most acts didn't show up so played…
Most acts didn't show up so played music through the speakers not even the artists advertised. Guy that checked our bags was later serving drinks well the drinks they had ie limited. Told would get a complimentary goody bag as the date was changed got two things from save the rave yesterday's show REALLY LOL
Rip-off, boring
Was terrible, charged £8 for a bottle of Barr cola, even though on the bottle it said £1.40 or soemthing. VIP but couldn't see the stage. Didn't even have the bands or artists they advertise, no Fleetwood Mac, no Bowie, and you need to wait until 9pm for the best bands. Only good thing was the donuts and crepes. Do not waste your time going, me and my friends left after 2 and a bit hours.
Absolute joke
Absolute joke. Poor selection of drinks and food vans. Over priced even for a festival. VIP was a joke. Couple of benches and a bar that had less in it than any of the other bars. A pathetic excuse for a festival. Left after 2-3 hours.
Chepstow sept 24
Chepstow 8/9/24........£18 for 3 pints of lemonade! Bottles of vodka/rum/whiskey £140-£160 each! Daylight robbery! Absolute rip off, even glasto isn't this expensive! But we still had fun in the rain!
We very nearly didn't go after reading terrible reviews but we are glad we did in the end. We chose to eat & drink before we got there & didn't arrive until 5pm. We saw end of oasis then beatles, abba, Queen & we had a blast! We had vip tickets but no need really although it got us to the front of stage, we used loos in a building which were all fine but unisex & not just for vip ticket holders & we didn't need vip bar. It was on hard standing so despite the rain at least no muddy field. Not very busy but everyone seemed to have fun & bands we saw played all the fave songs so happy days. Didnt notice any issues with security & bar staff all friendly, we didnt eat at any stalls. We might not go again but glad we didn't waste the £65 each we had paid for ticket & hotel.
Absolutely shocking!!
Absolutely shocking!!
I feel so sorry for anyone who parted with £50 for a VIP Ticket as the VIP area was as far as it could have possibly been from the stage and gained you nothing but a wooden bench to sit on.
Security was way over the top for such an event.
The whole thing looked to be run by the travelling community and was a cross between a bad fairground and a village fete.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Absolute joke,
Absolute joke,
They advertise good acts, but on the day you don’t get who you thought you were going to see, there is no information about the line up, so you don’t know until you get there.
Tickets were pricey so I thought it was going to be good quality acts !!!
Absolute joke
It was like watching a bunch of karaoke queens, I was really shocked at the lack of talent, the prices did not reflect the acts there,
The drinks were wayyyyy over priced, we payed extra for parking, no need to, it was a first come best spot basis, waste of money, they just waved you through.
Basic hot dog £10,
It was a circus, waste of money we ended up leaving early, if your looking to book this…. Don’t
Yes, it’s a festival, yes they are just tributes, yes prices get raised at these events, but seriously they all were terrible,
We booked for VIP, the vip area was closer to the stage but if you wanted a drink or the toilet in the VIP area it was on the other side of the venue, the normal bar and toilets were closer.
It’s just a rip off, they need to up there quality before they charge so much.
We went to the venue in Chepstow.
AVOID this travelling daylight robbing circus clowns of a company!!!
If I can save one person parting with their cash then I’m happy and have done a good turn. Please DO NOT buy tickets for any of these scammers’ events!!!!
We arrived at the venue (in Norwich) and although the queue was long, it did move pretty quickly. We were in the “standard” queue; we felt sorry for the people in the VIP queue as we got through much quicker than they did. We could hear that the first act had already started (David Bowie) which is dreadful as surely they should’ve waited for at least an hour for more people to make their way in. He was very good vocally but visually seemed to have made no effort to dress up to look like him (the clue is in the name “look alike festival”!!), but close your eyes and he was good. Elton John was up next and he was very good vocally, and did dress to look alike! Next up was the Spice Girls who were absolutely woeful! Oasis were up next, they were also good but we were personally disappointed by the lack of their main well known hits - but they did include Wonderwall and Supernova so happy with that! Food and drink wise - nothing to say other than VERY expensive as you would expect at a festival. But we witnessed one of the catering staff wiping off the price for dirty fries and upping the already expensive price! We opted for noodles and they were beyond revolting! The texture and taste were awful and make a pot noodle taste like premium gourmet food. We threw them straight in the bin - an expensive waste of £20! As for drinks, a can of lager was £6 and rum and coke £7. We got hungry early evening having thrown out the noodles earlier, so we begrudgingly decided to join the back of a very long queue for a burger. The Beatles were doing their thing as we stood there; we didn’t feel like we were missing out as didn’t sound great. We stood in the queue for around 45mins and hardly had moved; we got so fed up that we decided to leave the queue and call it a day altogether. We made a good call by all accounts as we read that we only missed Queen, who reportedly were poor, and ABBA, which okay, would’ve been good to see, but we can live with that! Never again will we waste our hard earned cash on attending anything associated with this joke of a company: travelling daylight robbing circus clowns comes to mind.
Worth going to the Wadebridge event!
Having read the awful reviews form other venues, we almost didn’t go to the Wadebridge event, but are glad now that we did.
Communication needed to be a lot better (especially regarding bringing food in for those with medical dietary requirements) and having accurate information as to which acts we could have expected to see would have been useful.
Having said that, we had an amazing time. Once there, I had no problem bringing my own food (I’m coeliac) once I’d shown my doctor’s letter - and for others there were plenty of food trucks and very few queues.
The toilets were porta-loos, but were clean and regularly maintained.
The atmosphere was wonderful - people of all ages having a good time and enjoying the outstanding bands.
Some in our group were disappointed by the lack of beer options at the bar, and I heard others complain that the VIP area didn’t have a very good view, but other than that I’d recommend this to anyone thinking of going to future events held at the Wadebridge venue.
We’ll certainly go again - and if the communication issues can be ironed out, next time we’ll be giving five stars instead of three.
The Cornwall experience
I agree with the other 4* review stating they almost didn't go due to the awful reviews. We had a blast, thoroughly enjoyed the bands, the food & mostly the singing, dancing & generally just enjoying life - great atmosphere and fabulous time obviously had by all. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is we pre paid £10 for parking which wasn't necessary as cars were just being waved in - no ticket necessary - a small gripe and would definitely go again.
Don’t use this company
Start refunding your customers for the cancelled event in Southampton! You literally changed the date with no notice and not refunded the people who can’t attend the new date! Such a scam rip off company and rest assured, I will be taking this to the papers. Absolutely shocking.
