Communication was poor leading up to the event as we had no idea who was appearing.
On the day there were obvious sound issues with some of the bands and the VIP area could have had a better access to the stage, but generally everyone had a good time.
Yes the drinks were expensive but its a "festival" what do you expect? It's not compulsory to get hammered but plenty of people managed it!!
Hopefully they'll do it again next year in a bit more polished fashion.

Like the previous Reviewer, we were quite worried as to what to expect from other venue's reviews.
The general info wasn't clear as to who were playing, it displayed a general list of performers. However, once finding the Cornwall Showground website announcement, it gave the exact lineup.
The performers were great, even though there was clearly some sound issues, so potentially no reflection on the acts. In general though, the tributes were excellent!
There was a great choice of food stalls!
Drinks were very expensive - £30 for a bottle of 'ok' warm white wine, but the bar staff gave us ice which in turn, meant the wine lasted longer being diluted down haha!!
We purchased VIP tickets, the toilets were extremely clean at all times. We had a separate bar to avoid queuing at the general bar, however, with the pricey drinks (I'm guessing), there wasn't a queue either side. My criticism would be, we felt a bit caged, it would have been nice to have had a VIP dancing area at the front with a lower fence to see the acts.
The car park at £10 was rather expensive too, friends of ours paid an extra £5 online to park closer to the event, this didn't happen.
The weather certainly helped make the evening a thoroughly enjoyable one!
A big shout out to the security staff who, whilst keeping a close eye on things, were extremely friendly and courteous.

We almost didn't go today due to the terrible reviews, but so glad we did! I agree that there was a lack of information before the event, and some of the bands advertised weren't there, but I guess we were lucky that the ones we wanted to see most were there. The line up was Amy Winehouse, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Spice Girls, UB40, Oasis, The Beatles, ABBA and Queen. The bands were all great and we had good weather. There were 2 fair rides, 5 food stalls plus churros and an ice-cream van, so sounds like there was more at this one than the previous locations. Parking was £10, which was a bit much, and drinks were very expensive - £6.50 for a can of cider, £5 for a bottle of water, but you were allowed to bring an unopened bottle of water in with you. The security were all lovely - dancing and having fun with the crowd, so very different to other reviews. So yes, we spent a fortune, but we had a great time, and we'd definitely go again.

Take your money, then with no explanation change event date. Unfortunately could not make new date, but impossible to communicate with the organisers to get refund.
Screams a Scam. Save your money and don't get disappointed....DONT BOOK TICKETS FOR THESE EVENTS

Understand that refunds need to be managed but to deny a refund to someone with a recent terminal cancer diagnosis is below the belt and shows a total lack of compassion. Disgusted.

Paid for VIP tickets had to enter with general tick holders VIP area was behind the stage could’nt see or hear the acts.5 of the acts didn’t turn up food & drink prices were just a rip off.The security people were no more than thugs looking for trouble.Just a rip off save your money & DO NOT GO!

It is clear that the lookalikefestival organisation do not care what their customers think. They don't respond to any reviews on this site. They employ bully security to defend poor service with aggressive behaviour and the physical removal of anyone who complains and tries to hold someone to account. The only solution is a total boycott of their events as they just shrug off complaints and criticism.

The security guards were like the SS manhandled old laðy as she wanted to fish and chips . 🍟 the foodstalls ran out of food the beer went
The toilets had no where to wash ect they were disgusting 😑 someone got barred as she tried to see if tje old lady who was just left on the payment was ok
It was all a shambles with a a lot hitler security force.

Event postponed, refund promised and never received. Do not book with this company.

We arrived about 2pm to see a young lady being rather frogmarched out of the venue. This set the tone! On arrival bag searching is a norm so was expected but so many security staff was an overkill - more on this later! From when we arrived the venue was out of draught beer and cider and only had cans at £6.50 each... not good enough to say that the excuse was that there had been another couple of events that had caused them to run out....they should be prepared for all the events that weekend. Food stalls were minimal and by evening there was only a small choice eg overpriced burger and chips! Anyway on to the security team who were awful and overbearing...I heard more than one person say they felt totally uncomfortable and intimidated just by the general attitude of the staff. To have several up high on the stage overlooking is more than necessary in a crowd of that size especially when a lot of them are older people, families and kids. It was a distraction from the acts as I found myself looking at the security to spot what the hell they were scowling about! To make matters worse, halfway through they decided that anybody using chairs or blankets to sit on had to move to the rear of the pier....and then proceeded to use a heavy handed approach to move all those "offending" including the elderly, infirm and kids. Why did they not make it clear from the beginning where people could be seated....it would have been easy enough to make a sign saying where the standing area would be instead of suddenly deciding this when people were settled. Saw others being removed from the premises as time went by. I am a regular festival goer and having attended large events such as Creamfields and Rewind I have never experienced or seen this level of misplaced authority.
Disconcerting. Toilets were pretty dirty - likely not having been cleaned after the previous events of the weekend and again, so much security seeing you in and out! I would have been gutted to have paid for VIP as that area was behind the stage so absolute rubbish - only plus was they seemed to have draught beer and the toilets were reportedly less likely to make you want to puke! On top of this, some of the acts advertised did not appear which was disappointing as my partner was particularly looking forward to Oasis and Fleetwood Mac and felt he had been conned! Now to the one plus side - the acts that were there were great. Elton John had an amazing voice and great stage presence, the Spice Girls had bags of energy and Freddie Mercury did not disappoint and had us singing along. There are so many other Tribute Festivals out there now and I am afraid to say that this is one I will not return to. I will be looking for a better organised event with a more friendly approach and hopefully a good selection of drinks and food.

So.... on approaching pier,I bore witness to 7 of 8 *security* carrying out a pensioner, who was calling them out for assaulting her.
As others ignored this and walked straight past, I had to find out if the old dear was ok when she was dumped on the promenade. It was a disgusting display of man handling assault and battery, right there in front of me.
I have so much videoed.
A couple of the security guards were damn right rude, one in particular (of which I later found out from her colleague, her name and what company she worked for (confirmed) and also what branch she came under. An official complaint shall be made as well as story going into the local press.
I was refused entry by this person to the look alike gig on pier,as she said there was no way I was getting in, based on the fact that I swore!!! I did not swear AT her, I swore at the situation I had just bore witness too, it was abhorrent!!!!!!!!
After reading reviews it appears many are complaining about the show, its staffing as well as safety issues. Kind of glad I got refused entry now, I'm the type of person who calls out bad behaviour. So it was a blessing in disguise, because from what I'm reading, there was a lot of nonsense going on with security staff.....SAMURAI SECURITY.... I shall be onto their CEO. As well as Sussex Council.....im gonna try getting my
money refunded, but from reviews I'm not holding out much hope, with them ignoring peoples requests for a refund.
I will never go to anything organised by these people again, and if they are employing heavy handed security, who feel wearing a badge gives them the right to assault and battery, they can do one.

I have video footage of another lady, much younger being escorted off the pier by two female security in a 'respectable' manner (Walking) so why they used the method of carrying out this pension in the manner they did was beyond me. OVER ZEALOUS SECURITY!!!

Outrageous!

Only 4 of the original 11 listed tribute acts showed up (Elton, Beatles, Abba, Queen), with Ariana Grande, Rod Stewart, and Spice Girls in place of the missing 7. No Bowie, No Stone Roses, No Oasis, No Coldplay. No Fleetwood Mac. No Rolling Stones. No Pink.

Not allowed to even take water in, told on entry no plastics allowed yet everything then served in plastic. (So a 10hr event and you have no choice but to purchase on site!)

Most beer/cider pumps ran out by 3pm so venders selling cans with less volume at same prices. Can’t comment on food as didn’t try to purchase. If you had VIP then you were stuck behind the stage

No info on site about order of play, we eventually got info from member of security who got it on his phone after being tired of people asking.

All in all huge disappointment. If I knew the actual line up I wouldn’t have bothered.

We had tickets for both the Saturday and Sunday. Both days were terrible. There were two food stands which were over priced under quality food. The food in question wasn’t keep refrigerated so the later you ate the warmer the food was before be heated up. Security falsely accused my friend of stealing drinks from a bar we never attended. There was 12 security guards to take one man to a bar we never been to for the bar staff to look confused and not bothered as why we were there. They then started rounding up all men with ginger beards and hats and taking them up to the bar. Honestly it was the worst festival I’ve ever been to and so unorganised.

Well where do I start what a terrible experience there was eight of us and one was had health issues being treated for kidney dialysis and was to tip her water out what she’s reliant for the treatment and told to buy more inside.
Security walking around like soldiers trying to intimidate people.
1.5 hours wait to get something to eat with four people in the queue.
No wine for the first two hours
Ran out of beer on draught at 1.30pm on the Sunday then selling cans at extortionate prices stay well clear in future

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! there are plenty of other events similar to this that are much better. We just returned from the Hastings Pier event today and what a shambles. No clear signage of where to queue we had a disabled person with us and eventually the staff decided they would create a disabled entrance, the event doesn't open at 12 like advertised but more 12.40,we our group which was only 8 people was all split up, you can't take bottled water apparently so this was taken from us and then they tried to take sweets used for a diabetic hypo, after some arguing they allowed this. When we was in there though we saw people with picnics they had brought in! There was supposedly meant to be street food there? I'm not sure where this was because there was 2 burger places and a doughnut place.. this was for 3000 people so the food run out very quick. Told you could sit wherever then 3 hours in they said you couldn't sit down anymore. There was meant to be loads of acts but actually turns out over half are not there!! And out of the ones we stayed for only 2 was good, the speakers are so bad you can barley hear the singers. Long waits between sets and nothing to do, it was so boring. Glad we left early because looking at reviews it has not got any better. Such a disappointment

Well, what can I say? We had high hopes as the festival at Newark Showground was advertised as outdoor and family friendly.

When we got there it was immediately apparent that things were not as advertised.

After passing through security I was immediately aware that people were already leaving. As we headed towards the music it became apparent why. Instead of a grass venue there was a crowd of people say on a tarmac yard with a waltzer playing music so loud you could neither relax nor hear the bands playing.

The outdoor festival turned out to be in a castle shed or garage for farm machinery. I ventured briefly in, but the sound quality was awful.

A waste of money and a Sunday which should have been wonderful. And, although I have reached out to the organisers, they have not replied.

Will not be going again. Will also be wary of they other brands run by the same company - Save the rave, Seaside Weekender and others.

If I could rate this a minus number, I would. Worst festival I’ve ever been to but the ones in Earlham park Norwich have been pretty rubbish last 2 years. Complete rip off. VIP are an absolute joke.. like a cow pen with everyone crammed in. No picnics meant at the mercy of minimal number of food vendors up to 2 hours wait. We got an uber eats delivered to the entrance. No water in the vip loo, overpriced drinks .. lemonade out of a bargain priced bottle. Drinking water out of a garden water butt. Cmon people, you deserve better than this crap. No ideas of the bands were any good as we didn’t stay

Purchased early bird tickets for an august 2024 outdoor festival which was rescheduled, with no explantation, 2 weeks before, for a date at the end of September, with the promise of a full refund if the new date could not be attended. A refund was requested via the process advised (ticket agent who now says they have no control over refunds and are also not helpful) with a response saying it would be received within 15 days! 20 days later still waiting with no actual response from tribute festivals, despite emails, DMs and social media posts (as advised to do by useless ticket agency). I wish I’d seen this rating and reviews before I booked. Currently £102 out of pocket with no refund in sight.
Avoid this company and the ticket agency they use!!

What a scam, they should be ashamed of themselves, advertised as an outdoor event, was in a hanger type filthy building with equally filthy toilets, no grass to sit on at all, we were one of the lucky ones, we found a bench, didn't bother bringing chairs as we believed we would have been outside on grass which we would have been happy with, bands were mostly very poor, sound was awful, never again.

The event at Newark yesterday was a joke. It was basically a car park with a few food and drink providers and a waltzer ride, with all the bands in a metal hanger.
Everyone was complaining. Ok, it was only £15 a ticket, plus £10 to park, but we actually only stayed for half an hour. The sound was awful, the programme was not as advertised and there was an hour between each band but nothing to do or see.
No idea why it was at the Showground as hardly any of the land used. It was a beautiful day but expected to be inside for the music.
Families were coming in with excited children and within minutes you could see their disappointment.
I feel for anyone who paid for the VIP area as what they had extra was embarrassing.
Would never attend another one.
