Aveda Hair Salon - Covent Garden

AI went there on 2nd time as first time, unbelievable I met a very good stylist.

Second time Davide was a complete disaster. My hair was in a bad state. For 35 minutes, I said to stylist not to cut my hair short about 10 TIMES and used the exact words - to avoid BIRDS NEST. Told him not to cut it short as it is really thick.

Blowdry usually lasts 7 days but it is out after 2 days. The cut looked ok in the salon but it is really short and it is a very odd looking hair cut.

Not sure if I can trust someone cutting my hair ever again. Think I should have left them as damaged as they were - at least they were long.

My hair looks like it has been cut with WHEAT SICKLE instead of scissors as it has no layers even though I asked for layers. Perhaps if I used a sickle, I wouldn't have lost £110.

Apart the first receptionist was really rude. I said that I have to be downstairs but she wanted to me to go upstairs using steps.

Perhaps if you speak Chinese to these type people they can understand more.

Won't be going again.

Ps they did contact myself and offered me complimentary haircut but my hair is way too short now and won't be going again due to what happened.

I order products on 10/6/25 and never…

I order products on 10/6/25 and never received them. Tracking continues to be unavailable. On Oct. 25 through chat finally told carrier never received products. Told agent would reship, 5 days, then 2 more and another 5 days. This is much too long and Aveda is refusing to cancel order.
This is unacceptable and horrible customer service.

Absolutely awful company to try and…

Absolutely awful company to try and communicate with. Was advised by courier to contact for refund or replacement as parcel ‘lost’. Aveda’s live chat was a waste of time, agent connected then disappeared. The WhatsApp was the same. When I finally got them they couldn’t care less and eventually just did can’t help you. There is no telephone connection and it is clearly a very run down company which is a shame as it was a well respected brand. Clearly do not think anything of their customers and I still don’t know where my parcel is paid and sent over a week ago. Wish I’d read these reviews first.

Horrible customer service

I have been a loyal Aveda customer for 30 plus years.
I purchased an $90 bottle of Shampure, and shortly after opening it, dropped it on the shower floor. It developed a small hole and leaked everywhere.
I reached out to Aveda for a solution. It took 26 days for a reply. When I got one, I was first told to send pictures and batch number, etc. for a replacement. Within an hour I was emailed again and told that the break was my fault, they would not help me, and to disregard the previous email.
Horrible customer service.
They have lost a loyal, 3 decade customer. Do not buy from them.

I spoke to the Aveda Institute in Phoenix. Told them that I got a call from a person that is friends of one of my clients. She explained to me about what happened at the Aveda Institute with the color of her hair. I called the institute and said I have a new guest that was not happy with their hair. To get to the point the institution said we can correct the color with another student. Are you kidding me they are new students that don't know how to do a color correction. I have been a hairdresser for 35 years and I know Aveda color. I am so disappointed with Aveda

Why can't we contact this company?

Placed an order for the same item I order every time and it arrived yesterday. included was a complimentary shampoo pump, which I needed. Problem is the pump was broken and doesn't work. What frustrated me more was there is no way to contact this company. They list no contact information anywhere on their site. They show a "Chat Now' link which doesn't work..... nothing happens when you click it. Their Facebook page has a 'message' feature, but the last time Aveda posted on it was in 2022 and last comments were 36 weeks ago. The email they send confirming the order and any subsequent emails regarding the status of the order are all from a noreply email address. At he bottom of each of those emails they specifically state: Do not reply to this email. This box is not monitored and not responded to. So this all begs the question..... How do you contact them. No phone number is listed; no customer service contact. Nothing. I have no idea where to go from here. You'd think for a $75 bottle of shampoo, they'd be a little more receptive to potential customer issues. (edited to correct date from 1922 to 2022)

Customer care what?

I am writing this review after a recent and highly disappointing experience with Aveda's online store. As a loyal customer who also frequents an Aveda salon, I expected a level of service and quality that was completely absent from my recent order (No. 6895755867).

First, the promised free items—a Botanical Repair minisize from a website contest and two product samples I had selected—were missing from the package. What's worse is that these items mysteriously disappeared from my order summary right after the payment was processed. This feels like a dishonest and opaque practice.

On top of that, the products I received, for which I spent €238, were in an unacceptable condition. The packaging was dusty, and some products were even dented, suggesting a total lack of care in the warehouse.

The poor service didn't end there. I tried to contact customer support, which is incredibly difficult to reach. They do not have a direct email address, and the only way to communicate is through an online chat that is available only during limited office hours. The phone number listed on their website is misleadingly labeled "WhatsApp," but it's not a WhatsApp number at all.

After finally getting in touch, they offered a 20% discount code, which is insulting given that I already have a corporate discount of 30%. It was clear they did not listen to my concerns or even bother to check my account history.

This level of neglect and poor service is unacceptable, especially for a premium brand. I am extremely dissatisfied with this entire experience, and as a result, I will not be placing any future orders with Aveda.

I have been embarrassed by the color of…

I have been embarrassed by the color of my white hair, be turned a light purple and the “yellowing” that I wanted washed out, stay in my hair during my 15 day vacation.
I usually get endless compliments on my hair. But find it the opposite now.
My granddaughter points out the color difference. She is 8 years old. Thank goodness she is honest.
I have noticed my hair breaking off more than ever.
I will go back to the other product
( please don’t buy them out Este Launder and change the ingredients. )
My family won’t use different hair products because it makes their head itch. The same is happening with me too. Sorry Aveda, I use to speak highly of the product but now will stop using it.
I appreciate the vegan, plant based, but things have changed.

If I could give a -20 I would

If I could give a -20 I would. This is the worst salon I have ever had service from. I scheduled an appointment for a color. There were a couple good reviews with a young male hairdresser so I scheduled. The first thing I said when I sat down was,”I do not want black hair”

I’m assuming he spoke English and understood me. But, I was wrong. My hair has never been so black and damaged. The dye transferred to my bed linen and my headboard on my bed. I called the salon, (las Vegas downtown Summerlin) and they informed me the date to call and report was 7 days. I asked to see the contract I filed stating I had 7 days to report back. I asked to see the information that was given to me stating I was told I had 7 days to report unacceptable service and of course there is zero information about this lie.

I spoke to a front desk person by the name of “Soliel”. I asked for her supervisor and she informed me she didn’t know the number. I asked her for the name of the owner and again she “didn’t know” She obviously lied to me.

I will never recommend this salon to anyone. This is pure dishonestly and manipulation. They will do anything to take your money and then will say it’s the clients fault for the obvious bad outcome.

The service was $200.00 and the dye they use is dangerous. My hair is dry and brittle. My scalp was burning. I am currently getting hair correction service from a reputable salon.

This is an experience that I never want to repeat ever again. They do not care about your concerns after your service. DO NOT VISIT THIS SALON

Aveda is absolutely rubbish

Aveda is absolutely rubbish. I couldn’t understand why my hair felt so bad using it and I did some research. They are not hair science specialist but botanical specialist and as a result they don’t always know what is the right thing for certain hair types. There products don’t penetrate the hair shaft it just sits on top and coats it and it feels dreadful. I would never recommend this tripe and it’s overpriced rubbish

terrible shopping experience

I ordered a shampoo and a conditioner, they only sent me the conditioner. I contacted the customer service who offered to send me the missing product ( the shampoo), and they sent me the conditioner again!
Is it so difficult to send the right product? I love Aveda products, but i will never order from the official website again. The cost of the products is high, I think they can afford people who know how to send the right products to customers.

Aveda Be Curly…Advanced

Aveda have introduced a new Be Curly Advanced co wash, replacing the old and trusted Be Curly Co Wash.(which I have used for years) The new product is awful and the old product is now unavailable.
I have very curly hair and it is fine albeit thick and this new product leaved my hair like rope and fluffy I will not be buying it again and will ditch what I have. My daughter has the same problem with the new product - why not keep the old one Aveda - never does one product suit all!!

Having been a customer for 30 years their tier levels were great. Now poor. If one does not use the shampoos they have in tiers then hopeless. Better to make it tailored to the customers purchases. Tier 7 is a back and face exfoliation. Who just has a face exfoliation? Not followed by a facial! So much room to capture a bigger market with all the above massively improving. Birthday gift that has to be rung up for and then go to salon to collect it? Why not just send the gift out with an order whilst the birthday code lasts 2months. Aveda have taken away the perks from the clients.

What happened to AVEDA?

I have placed an online order 4 times over the past 4 weeks. Each time it’s says I will be receiving a confirmation. I never do. I go back into my account and the same order is in my basket again! Tomorrow I will have to go through my online banking to see if I’ve been charged four times!
This isn’t the first time I sat and waited for an order that never came and never went through. I have been an Aveda customer since the 80’s and actually owned and operated an Aveda Salon for 26 years. THIS is NOT the Aveda that I loved for over 40 years! What the heck is happening?!?

I have used Aveda for years until they stopped making color conserve. When it returned, I ordered $140 worth of the new color conserve products. I have NEVER been so disappointed in a product as I have been with these “new” color conserve products! It’s like shampooing your hair with mayonnaise! It made my hair greasy and dull! I had to buy different shampoo to get the gunk out of my hair! TERRIBLE a product!

So disappointed with Aveda

So disappointed with Aveda. Been with them religiously since the 1990s, to the point where I have (had) over 60000 reward points. I had been saving them to get to the 50000 reward of the spa in Antigua, only to find a few years ago they’ve done away with that. Decided to use it this year for the flagship spa in London, only to find that package is downgraded a lot as well. Then decided to take a friend to the downgraded spa day, only to find that they deleted my rewards account and all my points recently because I hadn’t used it in a year - which isn’t true. My salon was Aveda until very recently, when they switched to a new brand because Aveda kept increasing their prices, and they always put my colour and botanical treatments on my Aveda card. I haven’t bought product in a while as I stockpiled the old Colour Conserve when they changed the formula, but to just delete the account without the courtesy of an email is appalling (there is a notice on the website, but that isn’t good enough).

I called this morning, and they’re going to look into reinstating, which is good, BUT this should never have happened. The old Aveda was so focused on great products and a positive customer experience; this new iteration seems to be focused on cutting costs with products and rewards. So sad to see the deterioration such a great brand.

I used Aveda products

I used Aveda products, and salon for a couple of years. My hair became lifeless, and much thinner. It has taken me months and different products to finally get it back in decent shape. I wanted to like the products, but they aren’t for me or my hair.

New formula Aveda Confixor Gel has an awful smell.

I bought 2 new bottles of Aveda Confixor Gel. I've been using this stuff for many years, but the new Gel smells awful. Why the change? These 2 bottles are the last I'm buying - I don't get it and it appears there are a lot of others who are very disappointed in the "new" Gel and, for what they charge for it, it stinks.

Aveda has gone downhill for years and…

Aveda has gone downhill for years and doesn't improve. The website has terrible navigation, and the checkout page doesn't confirm that you'll be adding to your Pure Privileges rewards. It's amusing to see how terrible the reviews are ON THE AVEDA SITE of the reformulated Color Control line and they still haven't gone back to the prior formula. Consumers are yelling about the formula change and they do nothing.

My hair turned green

I have white hair and a dry scalp, and until last year, I used Scalp Benefits with great success. However, when Scalp Benefits was discontinued, I switched to Scalp Solutions, and whilst it helped with dryness it unfortunately turned my hair slightly (but noticeably) green. It has taken me many uses of other products to remove the green from my hair.
