All the hype and spiel says 1000mbs. We were all endlessly battered with the fastest rural speeds in the world. 1000 MBS, 1000MBS-WOW. What a crock. Put into practice and at every stage of the way your 1000mbs diminishes.Man ripping up your garden `Well it`s only a theoretical 1000, in reality you might get about 800.` Man drilling your front room wall ` Well, it`s 1000mbs fibre to the property, round here you might get about 600 from your router.` Well that`s still pretty fast, I suppose. Day of going live arrives, all gullable hope and anticipation. The big switch on and first speed test. A WHOPPING 40MBS. PARDON ? Yes, you read it correctly, 40 mbs. Straight on the blower, whinge, whinge. The response ? ` Well, you`re only really testing the speed of your own equiptment. Some devices are only capable of 40mbs.` What a load of retrospective disingenuous guff. A 128G IPAD, a Samsung 190mbs capable mobile phone, a 600 quid laptop and an i phone 8 ( which did manage 71mbs in honesty-WHOOPEE ) No, unless things drastically improve it`s back to landline and superfast ( 59mbs ) broadband next year for 22 quid. REVIEW UPDATE. Well, I was contacted by B4RN in order to discuss and, possibly, review my review. On reflection, however, my original review stands, though slightly re-worded. Nothing written is either exagerated or untrue. That being said, I would like to add a few points I feel are well worth mentioning. Firstly, the service provided by every single meber of the B4RN team has been beyond excellent from the very first contact. 2nd. The level of diligence, work ethic, standards and efficiency in the execution of their respective duties, rolls and tasks has been beyomd reproach. Lastly, and of great importance, the speeds of the actual broadband received are far in excess of what mere mortals, such as myself, will ever need, on line searches, shopping, Netflix, Amazon and Youtube. Equally important to mention, the signal, touch wood, after nearly 4 months has never gone down and is very, very consistent in it`s performance. Perhaps the main point of contention, therefore, is quite simply the way in which the POTENTIAL speed of the broadband service is portrayed/advertised/sold to us.
Amazing! A True fast internet I can watch videos in 1080p now and 144p on BT
We had a problem with our internet earlier today and have no mobile signal at the property so we’re really left in a vulnerable position. I contacted B4RN this am and Pat couldn’t of been more helpful and understanding, she managed to call out an engineer (joe) who wasn’t local but agreed to come and fix the problem on a Saturday afternoon, I’m very grateful as we wouldn’t of had any signal for my daughter to call us this evening , thank you for being so lovely, it’s very rare to get such a personal service thank you so much jade
Fantastic service!! incredible internet speed, upload and download and most importantly an excellent friendly and very helpful technical back up team available if needed, no waiting for hours on a helpline!!
