Shocking.
My son saved his pocket money for months to order a Sluban tank. Waited 7 days when the estimated dispatch said 2-4. I then chased and was told by James that it would be dispatched that day (Monday), which was clearly untrue because it was not until Thursday that I received a dispatch notification. When my son opened the package he discovered that it was the wrong model and one that was of a £5 lesser value. Initially, James was quick to respond. The correct model was apparently out of stock. He was insisting that I have to return the incorrect item before a refund. I challenged this because, frankly, zero trust in them at this point. I have now emailed twice to suggest a range of days when the package could be collected, including potentially from a different address to make it happen faster and...complete silence...
If you actually want to get the right item at the right time - AVOID.

Absolutely disgusting service ordered boots back in April Royal Mail lost them tried contacting James no reply for a month offered me a refund I told him I would sooner have the boots I ordered that was around mid may still not received them messaged him two weeks ago nothing then received an email this week saying he has refunded me checked my bank nothing I have asked him to send me proof of refund nothing still waiting now I will have to get my bank involved to claim my money back this is bordering on legalised theft

I’m absolutely appalled by the service I have received. I ordered a jacket 3 weeks ago I changed my mind and sent it back for a refund. No response off you for the last week even though I have sent numerous emails to you.

Ordered a pair of shoes on 26th May expecting a delivery in 2-4 working days ( as they state is standard). E/mailed them after 5 days only to be told by a guy called James that he would sort. After another 2 days without a reply I emailed again expressing my disappointment and asking for a refund and to be advised when this has been done. Still nothing so am now reporting to my card company for a refund.
Stay well clear of this company, awful customer service, even if they exist!!

Order a patch on the 17th of May, it’s now June 5th still haven’t received the item. got no shipping information, contacted them 4 times, got two replies form a man named James. 2nd time he told me he’s “contacting packing” to find out what’s happening with the patch I ordered as apparently the first
one disappeared. Still hasn’t got back to me. He must of contacted packing via a messenger pigeon and he’s just waiting on the return flight.

I suggest taking this fella to small claims as you get no responses, no shipping information and the fact the shop doesn’t have a contact number says it all. He hides behind emails.

After waiting 11 days for my order for it still not to turn up, I emailed the company to be told it had just been sent but they could retrieve it from Royal Mail and process a refund. I took this option as I had to buy another pair of work boots as my order hadn’t arrived. It’s been around 3 weeks now and I haven’t received my refund. I will keep emailing until I get a reply.
Will not be shopping with them again

Avoid this company I purchased a pair of boots on the 10th of may and have still not heard anything about my order I have also emailed the company 4 times and the only time I got a response was to ask what my order number was and when I gave it to them I was ignored the customer service is terrible definitely don’t use this company

Order my husband boots in March they leaked after wearing them 1 time ! Emailed and have then since been told I would get new ones sent out now they are saying they won't and now ignoring my emails ! Horrible customer service from this company! Stay clear of them

I bought a shoe on the 15th of may so as I can take the shoes with me for a camp in Nepal. When I bought the shoes it was specified that I will receive it in the 4-5 working days. Today is the 26th and I am flying tomorrow. I emailed them several times and each and every time they said within 48 hrs I will receive it. Such a disgusting people. I will recommend no one to buy from them.

UPDATED (02 June 2025): After engaging in email correspondence with the business, I am amending my review to reflect the extra mile that they have gone to try and sort things out. Communication has been superb and their helpfulness should be commended.

Refund for undelivered items is impossible. I'm not even standing for the answer

Still no updates for my cap i ordered on the 3rd of may. Ridiculous this place needs to be shut down. Look how many people have had the same issues. Also BAAS if you tell me to write an email to you i have several times please reply to them

I contacted BAAS by email to confirm if they can ship to my hotel. They responded quickly with a "yes". I place the order. My order NEVER arrived and they fail to respond to any of my emails now.
Placed order 6 May. It is now 1 June. I did check my spam…BAAS is not responding.

Received second pair of black military high ankle boots due to first set cracking and material coming away.Worn second pair in 3 weeks in even worse results.wish I could upload pictures to show customers.please do not purchase from here.i have went back to magnam boots and can honestly sayi don't know why I took a chance on the change.As they say learn from your mistakes

Edit 14/05/25: Back Alleys latest reply shows just how Incompetent they are and that they truly believe their own lies. They state 'refunded in full' with a screenshot showing refund percentage 97.39%. NOT A FULL REFUND AND I REQUESTED A REFUND 16/04/25 after Back Alley failed to ship the items I ordered 11/04/25.
Reported to Trading Standards for breach of distant selling regulations.

The comment below from the Back Alley Army Store, claiming a full refund had been issued is another lie. They have withheld £4.70 for postage of a package I never received.
The refund was only issued after I had left my review, even though I have email confirmation from James dated 28/04/25 that a full refund had been issued. I have also been threatened with legal action if I continue to post negative reviews.
Nothing but a bunch of thieves.

I ordered 8 items at a total of £180 on 11/04/25. I emailed customer services on 16/04/25, as I hadn't had dispatch notification. This is where the lies started from James. He told me they had been dispatched that morning. When I checked the dispatch note, 3 of my ordered items were missing, even though the website shows them in stock. I emailed back to cancel the order and complain about their woefully slow process times. James assured me that he had recalled the parcel and would issue a full refund once they had received it back.
TWO WEEKS LATER, no refund. Emailed James again to chase it, and the parcel had just arrived back to them at the weekend and a refund had been issued. I asked for proof of refund, and James said he had requested it and it would be emailed to me the next day.
ANOTHER TWO WEEKS LATER, still no refund or reply to my email. I have reported it to Klarna, but will be considering legal action against this fraudulent outfit.

Never recieved my items for my trip, they told me the items must have been stolen so I have to report it to the police, the police told me they don't deal with missing parcels under the Consumers Act the company has to refund or send another, so i now have neither not only did they mess up my trip but also my credit cause I refuse to pay for something I don't have. I have had an Ebay shop and I can claim my money for missing parcels as it is there fault, I have never ever told a customer to go and report it to the police as if it is a crime that they did not recieve it. Also personally from my experiences with online selling TRACKING SIGNED FOR is the safe way to send parcels, not dumping it on a door step when the delivery man can clearly see it is a block of flats with lots of people going in and out. I will never use this company again.

So far, not so good, I am hoping that they can change this view, it has been five working days since my order for a backpack was confirmed. (This backpack now appears on the site as "Out of Stock") I have contacted the company through their contract us link about this issue and as of yet have received no reply!

I am not feeling very confident about recieving my order, and have doubts about how successful a refund will take. I was hoping to use my new backpack over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of May.

Update: The same evening i first posted my review i received an e-mail from "James" He said that my fist attempted contact e-mail had gone into the spam folder, and that as far as he could see, my order had been received and was still being processed this was the 8th of May, well past the 2-3 working days for dispatched as advertised on the website. Since the 8th of May, I have had no further contact from Back Alley Army Store. Having waited in good faith, I feel it is now time to give up expecting them to fulfil my order. I have bought another pack elsewhere and will be seeking a refund from Back Alley Army Store. I guess the name says it all.

Still awaiting an email back re. Refund, Royal Mail tracking states they arrived on 01/04, had one email from ‘Laura’ stating it would take up to 5 days to process but not received a reply to notify they have been processed nor when I will be getting a refund. Really poor communication and terrible customer service. Would not recommend at all.
