Closed My New Account Without Warning, Wasted My Time, Horribly Rude Customer Service
After spending a good 2 hours opening an Any Deposit business checking account online and getting it connected to Quicken and other business accounts, I was locked out and the Bank informed me that they had closed my account. When I called customer service, they were both unhelpful and rude. No apologies - they simply said they had the right to close my account, even though nobody called and gave me a chance to answer questions, provide documentation, etc - the worst customer service I've ever experienced from any bank.
Run, run, run, run as fast as you can!
Run, run, run as fast as you can from this bank. We opened four personal and business accounts and every step of the process was horrible. Our opening deposits were held for 15 days, even though the deposits cleared our other account the night we made the deposits. They said they put a hold on the funds to see how we do business with the bank. We are beyond creditworthy. On the last day of the 15-day hold, we were told that if we could prove the funds had cleared the account the branch could remove the hold. During this time we deposited cash to these accounts so we could use them. We were then hit a cash deposit fee. We were not given counter checks and when we went to request them they charged our account. The customer service call center is the worst experience ever. It is clear this bank has no interest in building a personal bank relationship with its customers. They are most certainly concerned with how much in fees they can get from you. Everyone we encountered was useless in solving problems and no one had the power to actually solve any of the problems we encountered. The turnover at this bank is high which now makes a great deal of sense - the staff is poorly trained and directed to generate revenue. When we closed two of our accounts, we zeroed them out as directed and then were assessed a few cents service charge. We were told that we have to wait days for the accounts to close and in that time the bank tried to assess small fees so the accounts would be overdrawn and assessed overdraft fees. Two of the accounts are finally closed. The other two accounts are still open even though we went to the branch and were told they had been closed. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BANK - RUN RUN RUN - YOUR BUSINESS IS NOT VALUED AT THIS BANK!
Inept bank, horrible technology, wasting your time and money when there are better options
My partner and I have dealt with this joke of a bank on 3 separate international trips. Each time, we call to advise Bank of the West that we are out of the country and to ensure our card can be used abroad.
EACH AND EVERY TIME WE HAD TO SPEND HOURS ON THE PHONE BECAUSE OUR CARD WAS DECLINED.
We have 100k plus with this bank and have decided to close our accounts because of this.
Do not ever choose this bank is our recommendation. Bank of the West reviews are less than 1 star across nearly every review site which tells you everything!
Identity theft
Customer since 1989.
They never notified me or got my permission. They route their Customer service calls to Guadamala. Disrespectful rude agents. Now they have access to all of my identifying info and account numbers (social, bank accts, credit cards, gold lines,
Home address, security questions, mothers maiden name etc.) which leaves you open to fraud and identity theft.
So disappointed in Bank Of West.
Won't recommend.
Horrible website, app & customer service.
I will stick to big names not this
Very jank website
Very jank website, really hard to figure out how to confirm microdeposits for external account.
Poor customer service at the SWPlaza…
Poor customer service at the SWPlaza branch in Littleton CO! ATM shut down, Libby closed, 18 minutes in the drive up to get 50 in cash.
Extremely rude branch manager, Christine, talk’s while you are talking does not listen. Rude tellers. They seem to all have an attitude. Unprofessional bank. This happened on Friday afternoon a very busy payday but they didn’t care. 3 people in the parking lot said they were going to close out their accounts. I called the main line on hold fo 32 minutes got transferred to claims, on hold another 24 minutes and got disconnected.

Worst bank to work with
Worst bank to work with! DO NOT FINANCE WITH THEM! We paid off a loan held by Bank of the West for a boat purchased. Have been requesting paperwork for over 90 days to get the US Coast Guard documentation deleted from the vessel. Bank of the West has not complied with our request after weekly phone calls, emails and faxes. It should not take over 90 days to fill out 1 piece of paper! completely unacceptable banking practices.
Bank of the WORST!
Hey everybody - It's TRUE! They really are THAT BAD! So BAD that they need to change their name to "Bank of the WORST"!
I needed a 0% APR balance transfer card to transfer just a thousand bucks to keep it from accruing interest on it's original card. My credit was solidly in the good rating with no flaws, and only 4% utilization rate, but I was carrying a few thousand in debt in a separate personal re - fi loan so I knew that I was on the line of "iffy" for getting accepted for a new card. Bank of the Worst sent me a pre - approved offer in the mail. To research, I saw that BOW had horrible reviews, but for my own reasons, I thought they were my only option, because they sought me out, and they would be best likely to approve me. I thought "I only need to do a bal xfer and pay it off in 3 months", how could they screw that up?"
Surprise, Suprise, S.U.R.P.R.I.S.E!!!
I applied using my computer on their website. Clicking enter to submit, I received a vague response telling me that my application is being submitted for further review and I would hear from them in 7 to 10 days, with a phone number to call them and check on my application status. This notice did not tell me if I was accepted or denied, nor is there any credit inquiry from them on my credit report, which is really unusual. A few days later, I started calling them. Not only is their customer service overseas in foreign countries, which creates language comprehension barriers, NONE of their agents could answer any of my questions or give me the slightest clue of the status of my application, or if I have been approved or not. After 2 weeks of 5 incompetent agents, I asked for my call to be transferred to U.S. customer service. This time, I got an American agent, also incompetent, who told me that she saw my FICO score listed and a credit limit, but no clue as to if I had been approved or when I would receive this "Notice" in the mail. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor was one of these official, highly polished speakers as if he was a politician, (He probably was), but still he told me that he had no information for me except that they had no way of contacting the underwriters so, I just had to WAIT, with absolutely no clue as to if I had been approved or denied or when this "Notice" would come in the mail. So now I'm in a predicament with 35 days to figure out what to do with this thousand dollars of debt I need to transfer to avoid interest, as well, Im worrying if I am going to get an inquiry on my credit bureau report, which again shapes my decision of deciding to apply for a card elsewhere.
I cannot tell you the frustration that I am feeling and how pissed off I am of the intense runaround that I've gotten from these jerks. This supervisor had the gaul to patronizingly tell me that he could understand my frustration, And boy, then I finally had had enough and he got his ass chewed from here to Kentucky!!! And I enjoyed each and every word of it!!!
Avoid this so called "Bank" at any and all cost!!!
Worst bank I have ever worked with in…
Worst bank I have ever worked with in the over 20 vehicles I have purchased. 7 weeks and still waiting for lien release paperwork. Costumer service can only read what's on screen when I have asked questions I was given the response that's what it says on my screen. Do not use this bank for any loan. They truly deserve a 0 star rating.
It shows money in my account I do…
It shows money in my account I do purchase they say no money to cover then charge me a bunch of overdraft fees in the last 3 days over 260$ worth I call they don't care it's my bill money they r stealing
Terrible customer service and inaccurate records
I had a car loan with them that we paid off in 2016 and was in good standing the entire time. Not even one late payment at all. Now, almost 7 years later, they reported that they charged off our balance. This is a lie and their customer service is horrible. I will never do business with them again.
Called customer service because my…
Called customer service because my transfer feature was locked. Spent 45 min on hold and got disconnected. Spent another 30 min, they said they neef to transfer me to online technical supporr and I wax on hold for 75 minutes, i got my acct ok to transfer funds and i transfered 17k from my acct where I had over 18k.
After 3 days, i see no transfer but one 35 fee overdraft charge. Called the bank and was told it was a bank error. My account was again locked from transfers. I was given the 35 fee back but charges another 35 fee for nobody knows what. Put on hold again for online support and after holding for 1 hour decided to close my acct for good. Being with them for over 10 years. I asked why I was charged again a $35 fee and no explanation. Be carefull and verify your acct. I bet you will see $35 fee that nobody can explain.
Bank of the West is our Business's worst NIGHTMARE!!
Bank of the West has been a frightening nightmare! The bank is beyond poorly managed, they steel $$ from your accounts regularly. I would steer away from Bank of the West if you value your money. They charge fees on our accounts without reason nor services we signed up for to line their pockets. They lost their rights to use Zelle due to their own fraudulent behaviors costing us, since we now cannot collect monthly revenue for our business via Zelle. They lie, cheat and should not be trusted. We recommend banking with the MOB before ever choosing to do business banking at Bank of the WILD West because, you will be sorry like we are for taking our business banking here. We have been through 10 hours over the past week trying to resolve our account issues to no avail. Even one of our local bank managers in Citrus Heights kindly spent two entire days trying to fix our frozen account issues with their backoffice online banking group that is very rude and obnoxiously unprofessional. She was told upper managment said we had better not count on transaction processing via Zelle any longer and go with their fee based ACH instead.
They see any way to depart you from your business revenue deposits as a way to better their profits and are the least customer service oriented bank I have ever encountered, save one very frustrated branch manager we actually do trust because she is the anomaly in this horrible financial institution. In fact, I hope one day the managers running Bank of the West are institutionalized for their ripping us off with no remorse.
Never got my debit card
I just signed up for a new checking account on August 15th. The bank stated it would take 5-7 days to get my debit cards for my wife and me. After ten business days, I called to find out where my debit card was; customer service said it was never ordered and they would rush one out. I still never got it; been 15 days now. Customer service stated it would take another 7 - 10 business days.. which is unacceptable; now, I have to wire funds to my old account because I am traveling and have no access to funds.
I will be closing my account, first interaction, just opened the account, and nothing but trouble.
Deliberately withheld my own money from me in 2008 for months
Kansas City, Missouri - Mercenary scumbags at Bank of the West, 5245 N.W. 64th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64151. Deliberately withheld my own money from me in 2008 for months and caused enormous problems in my life and personal finances. I did not owe them a penny for anything, so the motive was and still is unclear. They had no court order and there was no basis for one. This was illegal particularly since some of the funds consisted of VA benefits which are exempt from any levy, attachment, or seizure. A judge in Kansas City told me that, and I've read it in federal law. I filed numerous written complaints. I'm a Vietnam era veteran, a former medic. Thanks for the service Bank of the West, 5245 N.W. 64th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64151. They also got strangers at another bank to start insulting me which further demonstrates their malicious intent. I didn't do a thing to those people to cause this. I reported all of it to police in Kansas City, Missouri. One officer told me it was a civil rather than criminal matter, so the police did absolutely nothing. Sure seems like a criminal matter to most of us. There are almost no legal services in this country for the average person. It's almost impossible to get an attorney: Lawyers don't return phone calls or simply refuse to help you in any way. Except for a public defender, they're not required to work for anybody. Attorneys cherry-pick clients based on their arbitrary preferences whether it's for wealthy people, Republicans, red-haired people, or nobody at all. I had to do my own divorce in Kansas City once. I'm an older adult now, but my deceased lawyer parents were both child-abusing thugs who abandoned me at 17. One was a judge in Mississippi. If I hadn't gone to college I'd almost certainly be penniless and in prison on some wrongful conviction. The US has more people in prison than any country in the world, including China.
Worst bank you can find
This bank deserves 0 star. Customer service is the worse. Branches cannot do anything for you. Support phone number is terrible, options are not even enumerated in the right order (I don't even know how that's possible). Your account gets locked regularly for no reason. Took me 5 months to finally unlock it. Don't put any money there.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Jamil was horrible! Never use this bank! They don't even allow you to online bank, you have to go into the branch once a month! It's insane!
