Barnard Marcus of Covent Garden are excellent.
Barnard Marcus of Covent Garden are excellent estate agents. The Branch Manager is Francesca Lewis.
I was contacted by them a few months ago and they have now sold my two bedroom flat in Pimlico.
The money is now in my bank account gaining interest.
My optimistic asking price was £550,000, and Jake Tharp, the Assistant Branch Manager, managed to achieve a respectable £530,000, with property prices in London falling all the time, and a potential general UK financial crisis on its way very soon.
They are all good people, professional, proactive, friendly and patient in a stressful activity for us all. I recommend them to everyone.
Alex Campbell from the Sutton branch…
Alex Campbell from the Sutton branch has helped me buying my first property. He was approachable, friendly, very knowledgeable and always available throughout the process. He is a great asset to the company.
Last minute cancellation of valuation
Made an appointment to have one of my to flats valued to out on the market. Justgot a call 45 minutes prior to meeting that ' The valuer is in a meeting that is over- running so he is having to cancel' Thanks to the Sydenham branch for being unreliable and cancelling last minute. Will not be bringing you business anytime soon!
ANDREJA KMETOVIC IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND…
ANDREJA KMETOVIC IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY UNHELPFUL. HE IS A LIAR AND A CHEAT. HE IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. HE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO RESPECT PEOPLE. AND TREAT CLIENTS WITH RESPECT!!!
The breakdown in communication happened from you, not us. You spoke to my partner about moving up the start of tenancy date to which you said you will let her know after presenting the offer to the landlord. You failed to do that. The dates were the issue here and you failed to notify either one of us that the landlord wanted to proceed with the originally given dates.
I really don't appreciate how you have spoken to both of us. According to Victor, I never even spoke to you, which is false. You used the word negotiation on the phone to my partner. This means you should have come back to us and informed us of the dates being the ones given in the offer letter. At no point did Victor also say on Saturday that the holding deposit will be taken away immediately without any consent being given.
You both do not seem to understand how to communicate with clients. You cutting the call on my fiancée is unacceptable. You raised your voice first. Victor saying that me and my partner are together means we are one is wrong. It is not my bank account and I am not authorised to make a payment on her behalf. It is illegal. If she did not pick up the phone, you had a responsibility to wait or at least email her, get her consent, then make the charge.
Victor saying that this is now how you work as agents is shocking. You do not inform your clients before taking payment? How is that an acceptable business practice?
You are saying you took the holding deposit after the landlord confirmed. At what point did you confirm this with either one of us? Victor said that he rang me and I gave him the go ahead. This never happened. It is you two who are messing up facts and diving deeper into miscommunication. Victor said you dropped my partner an email to confirm. This never happened. No email was sent.
Before accusing us of falsifying facts, you both need to clarify your stories first and speak to prospective clients properly. You operate in a crowded business market. There is plenty of competition out there so why do you speak to genuinely interested people in this demeaning way?
This tenancy is not going forward purely due to the miscommunication, lies, and making up of facts mostly due to you, Andreja. As my partner said, you took the money from her account without any consent or information, this money needs to be returned urgently. This has to happen as you both left us in the dark and did not communicate when you clearly needed to.
Refund my money as soon as possible otherwise I will be taking legal action.
Scott and Lucy at the Sanderstead office provided a good service
Scott and Lucy at the Sanderstead office provided a good service when I was selling my flat. They were polite and helpful and responded to phone calls and emails and passed on communication from the buyer.
They kept the sale alive during times when there were pauses from either buyer or seller.
Use this estate agent Barnard Marcus…
Use this estate agent Barnard Marcus Seldon branch at your peril for renting. They took my deposit of £260 and refused to give it back stating I lied about my salary on my application form.. When I asked for proof of this as it was not true they refused to show me my application form which would prove I did not give them false information. I took them to the County Court and they were issued with a CCJ. Only then did they return my deposit. This cost £35 to do and I got this back as costs. They had to pay me as they knew they had no proof. Please be aware.
Advertising woodland as open land while it's is private property
I have tried to contact this company with regards to woodland they have advertised for sale in Park Corner, currently I'm still the owner, we have exchanged but not completed .It is private land but they have it advertised at OPEN LAND at no time has permission been given for anyone to be on my property. I would like this removed from your sales bio immediately
Don't buy from their Auction business !!!
I used their auction division and bought a plot of land through their auction recently. It turns out the land has other owners who believe they should own the land so having paid all the cash and I now in a massive legal dispute over if I have bought the land or not. They emailed me the day after the auction telling me that the completion date, as was the seller's right to do so, had been brought forward to 2 days from then, giving me no time to get a solicitor/conveyancer and their auction rep company, who badgered me with threats and sent someone around to my house and posted a notice in my window all taped to the glass, told me they always check that everything is fine with property and/or land they auction, so it would be a waste of time for me to get a solicitor. Then letters started arriving from other solicitors telling me of the claim to the land I had bought and I have emailed Barnard Marcus many times and no-one will respond to me. Absolute disgrace. Don't buy from their auctions !!
SERVICE (REPAIRS) Bad customer Service.
We have recently shifted into New Maden property managed by Barnard Marcus. Letting agents were kind and nice.
We have a list of repairs & requests within a week of shifting into this new house, which was communicated by email, phone & in person.
We were told the handyman was busy & will come last week which of course he never did .
Follow up with the in person meeting in Barnard Marcus office in New Malden & was told he will come today on 14th Aug in the morning. I pushed my online (teaching) Yoga
Session to the next day, and again we were disappointed.
It is very frustrating to chase them and be in waiting line, hoping to hear from them, which never happens.
We do not like to rant, unfortunately we are left with no choice but resort to social media.
I hope Barnard Marcus could pull up their socks & be more pro active & faster in resolving tenant requests. Alternatively let us interact directly with the owner if you cannot manage their property properly.
Thank you
Best regards
Pam
I viewed a flat in Wandsworth and tried…
I viewed a flat in Wandsworth and tried to put down an offer and I called agency maybe 5 times then manager called me to say landlord lives in another country so getting back to you will take time because of time difference. And I waited till Monday no one called me and I was wondering and called them to ask and manager was surprised that no one called me to let me know that someone else offer accepted from same day. I got it landlord could accept another offer but again why I needed to call 5 times to put down an offer and I wasn’t inform that property now available anymore. Please you judge the professional work here
Barnard Marcus Putney
Really impressed with the changes they made in their Putney office.
I was selling my flat with them before they changed the whole sales team in July. After few weeks without a single viewing or communication, I was about to take my property to a different agency. BM scrapped the old team to bring a new one just on time, including a top sales from another office (Karim). I gave the new team a chance.
What a change... like day and night. Karim took over my property and found not one, but two buyers in a matter of a couple of weeks. Old school, high touch, high intensity, working the property with callouts, bringing relevant viewings and keeping communication with us on point. These guys are not waiting for clicks. Karim has to be one of the best agents in the area. It's not magic, it's just hard work!
Great Customer Service @Barnard Marcus, Sydenham
We sold our house through Barnard Marcus in Sydenham, London and from the outset we were given great customer service. Nathan, the branch manager, patiently went through the contract with us and answered all our queries promptly. Once we'd signed up everything was taken care of promptly e.g. marketing photos and setting up viewings. The team worked tirelessly to manage our sale and keep the chain communications progressing once we'd found our new home. A nice bonus is that they were all so friendly and approachable throughout the process; I highly recommend them.
If I could give Barnard Marcus "0" I…
If I could give Barnard Marcus "0" I would. This is the second time I had the misfortune of dealing with the "Sales Manageress" Ms. Gizzelle at their Chiswick Branch. A few months ago I saw Barnard Marcus's signboard on a smart block of houses on a well-kept Road Road in Chiswick. I arrived at the property as advised by Gizzelle and waited beneath their sales board for over 30 minutes assuming the house I was shown was where their sales board was. When I telephoned Gizzelle to see why she was not at the location, she told me the property was not in fact where the board was but on another side street. I made my way to the new location. The house she wanted me to see was a run-down property and completely the opposite of what I enquired about. Gizzelle became rude and argumentative and blamed me for being at the wrong location. I was dumbfounded by her unprofessional and rude behaviour. I politely told her that I was not happy with her attitude and the way she treated me and that I was no longer interested in the property and I left. Today, I telephoned Barnard Marcus at their Ealing Branch but I was put through to their Chiswick branch instead. I was in conversation with a lady but her abrupt and rude mannerisms soon became clear that it was the same Gizzelle that I had dealings with previously. When I asked if she was from the Ealing branch, she lied to me and said "Yes I am, what can I do for you?" I explained to her that I had already left my email address, my phone and the address etc of the property I wanted to sell with her colleague. She went away for a few seconds and came back and said my colleague took down your wrong details, can you let me have them again. I was confused why she did not have my details and asked her to speak to her colleague again. At his stage she became rude and abusive, saying, I don't have your details, so can you give them to me or not? It became clear to me with whom I was talking with and informed her that she was rude and that I will go elsewhere because of her disrespectful attitude and the lies she told me. Gizzelle was not in fact from the Ealing Branch but from the Chiswick Branch. She was dishonest with me and told me a pack of lies in order to keep the commission for herself and not her colleague from the Ealing Branch. How deceitful and selfish is that? I hate having to deal with dishonest and deceitful people who have been put in the position in representing a reputable company such as Barnard Marcus.
Trespassing Agents
I have been marketing a flat for rent with Barnard Marcus Earls Court. The early stages of the marketing were unimpressive given how busy the market is, but when I threatened to move to another agency, they upped their game and tenants were found. In preparation for this we made sure it was cleaned from top to bottom and we exited the flat having closed all internal doors, switched off all lights and double locked. 24 hours later I needed to place an information booklet into the property in advance of the arrival of the tenants, only to find that the front door was no longer double locked, the property had been used for some sort of 'entertaining' - the furniture had been sat on, there were champagne glasses in the sink, the bathroom had been used, the doors to every room were open and the TV had been watched as the remote control was not in the holder where I had left it. The only possible conclusion was that someone from Barnard Marcus, knowing the flat was empty and being in possession of a set of keys took it upon themselves to trespass into a now rental agreed property which was off market and make use of it in the few days between completion and move-in. They are strenuously denying it and trying to place the blame on us, or the previous tenants... but its absolutely clear that someone from that branch has behaved appallingly - and indeed illegally. The service throughout has not been particularly stellar but their response to this situation has been total denial and trying to place blame elsewhere.
Barnard Marcus
Barnard Marcus - Wallington
I had a viewing in Coulsdon with Barnard Marcus and subsequently put a price in with an offer. Days had passed since the viewing and I found myself chasing the estate agent for updates.
I was promised call backs I was never to receive, I then looked online again at the listing to see it had been marked as "let agreed" on rightmove. I find it highly unprofessional that this would be publicly updated online for all to see without firstly giving a courtesy call to the other offeror's to advise it has been agreed elsewhere.
I have since asked the company to remove me from their systems and I shan't be using their services again.
no phone call to cancel
so...
First impressions...
I arranged valuation ..got a call to change date ..ok date changed..and comfirmed text..took the Saturday time out to meet at the property at 11am.... no-one turns up ..so I ring them and they cannot find my booked appointment...then was told they didn't book because they don't deal in my area...
no phone call to tell me this...just don't turn up...joke, very unprofessional 🤬
Lazy letting manager Putney
I have a beautiful refurbished one bedroom flat in Putney next to the tube station. I visited Barnard Marcus on the High Street and introduced my property to the lettings manager - Azhar. He informed me they were inundated with people looking for flats. I therefore invited him to come and view the flat, he seemed a little reluctant to commit to a date which surprised me as he told me he had a large number of people looking for flats and I have a beautiful flat ready for occupation. surely he should make it his business to come and view the flat immediately or as soon as. He informed me he would call me, but he never called me, and I’ve not heard back from him. Tomorrow I will go to Foxtons which I have used before as we have a number of high quality flats to rent, but I thought I would give Barnard Marcus a chance. Obviously that was a bad decision.
I must admit how Barnard Marcus agency…

Non return of monies - appartment not as advertised
A member of my family moved to "luxuiry accomodation" in Sutton. Due to unclear information emailed by the agents the deposit, which I paid for was made twice. BM were given my bank detials for the return, 30/05/23 but took no action. I called them 06/06/23 an agent called Sophie asked for my account details. I followed up with an email and her response was "Ive amended the refund so it will land in your account, Refunds can take up to 10 working days,". I was unhappy that there would be delay and emailed Sophie several times regarding this. Following my 4th chase Sophie responded on 14/06/23, "I have sent the refund request to my accounts team, I will chase this now". I have been chasing progress daily since then with no response and without payment of the £317.
The appratment is not as advertised; the member of my family moved into the appartment 10 June. Despite Barnard Marcus advertisment that the appartment is "luxury" it did not have a working cooker (it had not been wired in) and there was no plug for the bath. The landlord has been contacted daily regarding this. For the most part they have not responded. On the 15/06/23 they managed to speak to the landlord who stated only that the issue would looked at some time this week. A close member of my family has not bee able to cook for themselves for a week nor take a bath. This is completely unreasonable.
very unprofessional -cannot be trusted
very unprofessional -cannot be trusted
