Clarksroom direct were great. Good communication and they put me in touch with a Barrister (Stephanie Heijdra) who was excellent.
Highly recommend both.

Stephanie is just the best described as an angel in disguise gets to the core of the situation and really makes a difference we will definitely be using Stephanie again for our next hearing. I dont believe many of the reviews on here are accurate, but the actual barrister's themselves are very very good.
My issue is how Clerksroom deal with each case.
The cost of each hearing differs each time, which isnt helpful for planning, but I would recommend that you request a breakdown of the invoice to be paid. This is where they make their money. If you speak to the barristers, you realise that they dont see most of what you actually pay Clerksroom. Why isnt the Clerksroom service a set fee?
Why are they charging a fee again, when you use the same barrister who knows the case, for the next hearing and then their fees have gone up again?

Dont be fooled by the initial charm. That willingness to help you and even offer a lower fee for that first hearing. When the case goes into the nitty gritty, they will show their true colours, and sadly this is when they pounce on the weak and vulnerable, leading to people being forced into paying extreme fees, which quite frankly, dont add up, when the work they have done is no different to the previous case.

They merely 'book' someone for you. Thats it. So this should be a set fee, with the barrister receiving the remainder of what is to be agreed as a fixed price (be prepared for additional costs if the case is more complex than they expected).

All in all, woudl i recommend them. No. But anyone going through a court proceeding is governed by their financial status and ability to fund legal help. Clerksroom sadly are a business, out to make money, and this is evident when they begin to raise their fee, despite them doing less and less as a case progresses from hearing to hearing.
Ask your barrister. Ask for a breakdown of what you are paying each time. You will be shocked.............

I have never been through a court process like this. With so much at stake regarding my son and given some of the allegations it was very stressful time which Nadeem put a blanket of calmness over instantly. His professionalism along with personal experience really made a huge difference in how we moved forward. Nadeem secured what I wanted from court and more. Nadeem aslam - represented me in court. As I struggle with anxiety, and as we met in person he gave me full confidence and made me at ease with the whole situation, and I’m continuing to use him for further matters. Now! I don’t ever write reviews, nor do I like to bad mouth people, or hurt peoples feelings! That is not my intention when writing this review.

But I feel that I should give people the heads up, who may also be in a very similar situation, im not saying that this will be the case may be in all situations but after a very distressing couple of years, I had decided that my only option left to resolve my family issues, was to have to attend court. After my first hearing & representing myself, I decided for the my Final hearing, that I would instruct a barrister, because I didn’t have a solicitor I instructed a barrister. What I did not know, was this was going to be a complete waste of money. To break this down, without rambling on and going into to much detail.

In 2021 my ex-partner took both my children from me, (because I had a new partner) Police wouldn’t do anything. After a few months my eldest came back to me, & he kept my youngest son. But he would only let him come to me once a week & every other wkend. I tried mediation, that didn’t work, as my ex-partner would not agree.
I tried speaking with him, everything. So all that was left was to attend court to be able to get something in place where I could spend more time with my son. Went to court in June this year, & I represented myself. The next hearing was this August.

I contacted clerksroom direct, and was allocated a Barrister. Who I was told he would be in touch, to arrange a convenient time to telephone me, which he did not. He telephoned me at 7:00pm the evening before. He was on the call all of 3 minutes. 😳😲 when we arrived at court & met with him the next morning.
It was as though he had not read through my statement or my respondent’s statement what so ever! He had no idea about any form of psychology abuse or manipulation or anything of the other that me & my children have been put though. Which if he had read my statements then he would have been aware of.

It was as though all he had read was the statement that CAFFCASS had wrote. As that’s all he seemed interested in,
as he said that this is not about you, or what you want. It’s about the children.
Yes, fair enough I agree to some extent. But at the end of the day. They are our children & we should have equal rights to spend equal time with them.
The Barrister even said to me, “I don’t know what we are even doing here! You’re wasting your money!!” He even said that, his own words. He didn’t seem to want to fight for anything else that I wanted. He didn’t seem interested in the case at all.

The issues wasn’t just about time spend with children I wanted to raise other issues up. Which was not even going to get looked at or argued by him, he didn’t want any to entertain any of it, he just wanted to free up court time & get off early.

What a waste of £1,800. I am Really disappointed in the service that I received. This was mine & my children’s future. These Barristers need to take things more seriously. At least put abit more effort in and try.
