Steer clear, awful company

I have had the desktop computer for two years, worst computer I have ever had. Doesn't run smoothly, software I was issued to be used in parallel but will not run together (freeze crash or very slow).
Had a re assessment, had to go through them again to get another piece of software. Software has not been released, past date they state it should be released in portal. No return calls and couldn't speak to anyone.

NOT RELIABLE, OR TRUST WORTHY

Not a very good service, I was told my Equipment was arriving Saturday just gone, and it hasn't arrived. I waited in all day for this delivery only for it not turn up.

If you can find a alternative company it would be better.

Friendly staff and my recent repair…

Friendly staff and my recent repair work looks good but in the future they should consider informing people if they are upgrading people from windows 10 to 11 as it could upset someone if they start up there laptop expecting windows 10 user interface but are greeted with windows 11 and it's different user interface and appearance

Don't bother with a DSA laptop, get your own

The DSA laptop I was provided with didn't work from day one, blue screening when attempting to multi-task. As a distance student needing to be able to watch my lectures while using other applications this was wholly inappropriate. They did take it back, install an SSD drive which seemed to fix the issue. Now, three and a half years later (I'm part-time, this laptop is insured and meant to last me for six years) - it's incredibly slow to boot, barely usable and they don't want to know. The battery doesn't last and their only response to all of the above is "batteries are classed as consumables and only warranted for 12 months, by youself a new one". They don't care once they've paid the initial sum to provide you with a sub-par laptop that's honestly worth nowhere near £200.

Oh, and the ergonomic chair that's meant to last for ten years is falling apart too. Absolute joke.

As a previous student at a university…

As a previous student at a university the support I was given by Barry Bennett was excellent I would like to say a big thank you to Barry Bennett and especially my previous mentor sania saeda and fiona my academic 1-1 support worker who where excellent in helping me stay focused and achieve I would highly recommend Barry Bennett service as it is the best support I have had since being diagnosed always helpful and supportive and deserve 5 star for the support I was given I would highly recommend students to get support from such fabulous team so a massive thank you to you all.

Good service

Good service, understanding when I had to change delivery time at short notice. Didn’t really explain about the offer of upgrade, but Laptop and apps all good and orientation online of installed apps was very useful.

Barry Bennett, provided me with the items DSA authorised. Delivery was prompt, and packaged well.
Software training was easy to book, trainer was friendly, polite and helpful. Overall excellent service, I highly recommend.

Thank you…

Wife’s laptop has had to go back for repair. Not a problem these things happen.

The staff there were excellent were I reported the issue and advised that due the the time of year it may take a little longer.

Contacted the team today and spoke to Sayyad in the tech support team who was very professional, understanding and helpful.

Good customer service can be hard to find in these troubling time but these guys are working hard and doing well.

Thank you so much for your help and support.

Barry Bennett - DSA equipment provider is unprofessional and slow to process orders.

DSA equipment insurance takes forever to be processed. Seems like they are avoiding to pay the claim. And they do not communicate with clients.

if you want to know how your order/insurance claim is progressing, you have to kee[ on chasing them yourself therefore to get anything done, even then, they put you on hold for a very long time so that you give up contacting them.

That is if you are lucky to have your phone call picked up at all.

Basically I was awarded Student Finance England DSA laptop etc. Which unfortunately was stolen from me some time later. Once I filled an insurance claim, it been over 2 months and im yet to receive the replacement laptop and this is because I kept calling them. And I only found out that my claim was successful because Barry Bennett is the laptop replacement provider and I logged in to their student portal (for another reason), and to my surpise, I was able to see that there was a new laptop order in progress, totally by chance. I never received any contact from Speciality Risk who manages the claim, they simply never got back to me with their final decision, nor did Barry Bennett contacted me about a delivery, even though in the order details it showed as order date 1/12/2021 and delivery date as 8/12/2021 and i found out about this on 16/12/2021, so over 1 week passed their own set delivery date they did not contact me at all about it.
They did have my phone number and i got no missed calls from them in this period.

And after i contact them with the new order number they also kept on delaying the delivery. Their 'scheduling' team left me waiting on hold for over 40 minutes, "transfering" the call to his collegue, just to have my phone call terminated. I took a sceenshot of the call and duration.

In my dealing with Barry Bennett I was treated unprofessionally by amateur people. The different departments I contacted all were the same unfortunately. Deliberatly, ignore questions by email or if their phone is picked up after a long wait, its terminated. They urgently and desperately need customer care training.
