Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 44 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported issues with payment systems, where machines would confirm payment but not provide receipts, or online systems would decline payments despite available funds. This often led to receiving penalty notices weeks later, even when proof of payment was available. Reviewers also found the appeal process problematic, with appeals being ignored, denied with generic responses, or requiring customers to pay fines to avoid higher charges while waiting for a resolution. Some people were dissatisfied with the pricing, finding charges disproportionate for minor overstays or for parking in locations where they believed they had valid permits. Additionally, customers experienced poor response times from customer service, with calls going unanswered and emails being ghosted, especially when trying to resolve payment or appeal issues.

AVOID ‼️Watford Church car park. I’m Never using this car park ever again. Best to use the harlequin car park instead! The machine will display that your payment has been received and processed, however Often No recipes are given as paper has run out or you receive a plain piece of paper where there has not been a transfer of ink onto the receipt. Also you will receive a penalty notice 3 weeks after your visit so likely you have already thrown out the receipt. I believe that this is a Flawed parking system, designed with flaws to extract maximum penalty charges for their users. I will Never trust or use this parking lot again.

Absolute Scammers - do not use!

Used ther site I'm Manchester - Tarrif Street. Paid on the app they tell you use to then get a fine saying I had not paid. Sent proof of payment (screen shot of the app payment), but they stated that because I had not put in my reg no, it was not proof of payment for my car. This suggesting that maybe, I had happened to pay for a different car in that same car park, that exact same date and time in a car park that they had photos of my car in and was trying to pass that payment off fraudulently. The app did not ask for the reg to be entered, otherwise I would have done that - this is the app that they tell you to use. I appealled to POPLA who confirmed I had indeed paid to park correctly, but I had not followed the 'rules shared on site' (the reg no issue) so were still liable for the fine!?!? There were no signs on site telling me to do this - I just followed instructions by paying via the app. I believe that if people appeal, they send POPLA false signage that isn't actually on site (or is not at all of the main payment points) and are indeed scamming customers. The fact that the app they tell you to use does not ask for reg no is clearly scamming people from the outset. Criminal behaviour. Stay away from any citipark/baysentry car parks, just to be sure you don't get scammed, stressed and still end up having to pay an additional £100 fine when you have been told that you did actually pay to park all along!

This company is a SCAM!!

This company is a SCAM!!! I have tried to pay multiple times through their website and their phone line but the payment is either rejected or the website doesn’t allow me to make the payments and brings up an error. I have tried using multiple cards for payment & still no success.

I have emailed both their enquiries email and their complaints team to discuss my issues and resolve the matter before the time scale for the reduced fine ended, but I have had absolutely no luck.

I am at my wits end; I called their number to speak to an agent, at various times of day over different days and each time I am kept on hold, told that there is a wait of 5-8mins and then after 15mins the call is cut off after being told there are no agents available.

This is driving me crazy & I can only assume this is a tactic to hit me with a later bill, later down the line for a hire amount “because I didn’t pay”.

Has anyone had any successful experience with being able to pay? If not, did they try to issue proceedings against you at all? I am anxious about this.

Fine when blue badge was displayed

Charged for not displaying a blue badge ‘correctly’ it was there and visible but bottom of it had slipped under window - all the badge number etc was clear to see. I appealed and heard nothing for 2 months, then they emailed me to say as I had not sent a picture of the badge as they requested my appeal was rejected. They never sent me an email asking for it!!! But now it’s too late so had to pay or take it further but the fine goes up if I lose! At least Turpin wore a mask. Should be ashamed of yourselves.

Parked in Dale street for 3 hrs on…

Parked in Dale street for 3 hrs on 01/05/25 in Manchester and experienced really rude attendant on entry . When I returned a guy was having problems at the pay machine as I did after he finished , I tried 3 credit cards and eventually it accepted my capital one card and said payment for £13 successful . I checked on my app that payment was pending. However 12 days later I received a fine of £60 -£100 if not paid within 14 days. I rang my card company who informed me there was a payment pending but hadn’t been taken and had now dropped off the system . I asked for their back up team to give me proof to appeal it but they haven’t got back to me in time so as a result I have had to pay it or risk paying £100 or having CCJ’s against me 😡😡 Bay sentry parking are absolute scum bags and I warn anyone who parks on their sites not to or they will get scammed like I have and many others on here

Watford Citipark Gade Fine

Citipark Gade Fine

Penalised because it took me a while to find a space and also how to figure out how to pay. So 7 mins extra but still under 3 hours. There isn't an option to change the time on the Ringo app either!

Was told in the appeal response that I had to prepay for parking... who does this???

This parking system is rubbish!!! When I park at Church street, I go to the machine when I leave and enter my reg and it tells me how much to pay. Why is this so complicated in Gade??? Totally set up to make money! Do not park here.

Helpline not answered

Liars . I used Gade car park in Watford, returned within the £1 time, paid the fee. When I returned to my car it had a flat battery. I saw the contact number and tried several times to speak to someone as I didn’t know how to pay for extra charging having already paid. No one answered despite several attempts . I appealed the charge, they refused and they said the help numbers are displayed, and ignored my point that no one picked up the help line . In my mind offering a help line that doesn’t work negates their position. I genuinely tried to pay the extra but couldn’t see how to do it in those circumstances. I am a pensioner and not as efficient with delaying with machines only.

Zero for this lot.

Zero for this lot.
What a scam… car park, recently now, has no barrier so who can ever tell if you’ve actually paid!! (Cue a perfect crime!).
I use Gade carpark in Watford fairly often (but no more) and I would stake my life that I paid by card beep.
Of course, no receipt requested and drove away! Why would any normal person NOT pay these shyster car park owners as they will always hunt you down if you don’t!
PCN arrived, appeal made and (of course) rejected and now they want £100 for a £2 parking session. It’s just a further sickening allegory for this sinking, once great, country. So many organisations have their greasy and desperate mitts in the pocket of the hard working person!! Time to leave the ship!

Avoid any car parks

Avoid any car parks operated by these con artists - whilst the parking fees may be cheaper than other options for parking, they are an awful organisation to deal with. I turned up late for my pre-paid booking and left late too - however, I parked for less than the 3 hours that I paid for. I was charge £60 fine for over staying a £2.30 ticket by 16 minutes. It's not worth the risk - avoid at all costs

Terrible company, who are inhumane!

I am a young girl, my dad was rushed on blue light to Barts Hospital in Barbican due to a heart attack. I had to drive 50 minutes and rush to find parking in the area as I am from outside of London, so I chose Citipark Barbican. I accidentally typed in one digit wrong in my registration due to the pressure of the situation, but I did pay for parking. I explained this, but was referred to BaySentry who have also completed disregarded my explanation, which is completely inhumane! They have now referred my situation to Bailiffs who want £170! For parking I did pay for.. whilst my dad was having a heart attack. Complete joke.

They claim I did not respond to their appeal decision in time, however I sent them an email to two email addresses, one which is monitored, and their appeal decision was also on the basis of incorrect information, as they too got my registration wrong on their reasons for declining (didn't even match the incorrect reg number I put in!) They also claimed I only provided one receipt when I provided two.

Parking in London is extortionate, and these companies are just out to get your money.

Scam Parking

Parked in Gade car park in Watford and the system asked me to put in an entry time. I couldnt remember the exact time so put in a rough time and paid for the parking. I then get a pcn saying the time i entered and left. Well if they knew already why ask me? I assumed the system was picking it up and would tell me the correct amount to pay. I appealed and they rejected it and from what i have seen about popla i dont think its worth trying to appeal further. Total scam as i see others having the same issue and been fined too.

If I could put 0 stars

If I could put 0 stars, I would! Recently purchased a house and had parking passes in my house. Used said passes in my car and got 2 fines for parking in my own parking space that is on the land registry of the property - appealed and said the passes were invalid! Can’t call or talk to anyone, just getting harassed for parking in my own parking space! Can’t wait to sell and move - will never use them anywhere again. Very stressful moving house, to then get fines with no helpful use or discretion for actually parking in my allocated parking space!!!! Jokes!!! Sure, I have money to waste on parking in my own parking space!!!

I recieved a PCN due to a failure of…

I recieved a PCN due to a failure of the citipark app. I had a stay of just over 4hrs at Sutton car park Watford when I went to pay the app requested that I put in my time of arrival, but there was time already in the box, which the app wouldn't let me change, even though I reset the app three times, so I paid the amount the app requested. I then received a PCN from them for £100 for the £2 they missed out on. I appealed which rejected, I then appeal to Popla who sided with BaySentry. On 23rd Jan due to a function I attended at WFC before the game that night, I again parked for over 4hrs and guess what, I had to put in my arrival, this time I was able to put my arrival time into the app and paid the correct amount. So be careful if you park in their carparks for over 4hrs as judging by over reviews I've seen, they are trying to catch you out

If i could give a 0 i would these…

If i could give a 0 i would these people are just stealing money in any way that they can. I used their parking in ilford near a restaurant called Enigma. Once in october and once in december. Their payment machine was down on both occasions so i had to manually enter my car details and pay. Yet they continuously sent me fines saying i hadnt paid. As soon as i received the letter i contacted the email PROVIDED and received NO RESPONSE. There is a string of 4 emails sent with bank statements and photographic evidence of payments been made. Yet NO RESPINSE. A friend of mine had a similar issue and provided a different email which i finally got a response from but they did not care that A. I paid for my parking when i left the lot. B. The string of emails i sent which THEY FAILED to respond to which would have prevented this to now be handed over to debt recovery. These people have caused me SO MUCH unnecessary stress and have wasted so much of my time. Now I have to chase people to fix what theyve failed to do. Their customer service is ridiculous. Why on earth provide an email address which no one checks
