Sadly this is still quite costly compared to traditional less environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes.
Hopefully this will change in the future as the demand for more environmentally friendly products will demand that manufacturing industries are able to come on board with a more environmentally friendly way of making nappies.

Terrible nappies - Avoid!
Terrible nappies! I tried these given they are slightly more eco friendly than “normal” nappies. Quality isn’t great, they seem rough and are noisy (like cheap plastic ones)
I’ve tried 4 times and everyone has leaked straight up the back, like others have said. My baby wakes up distressed from being soaked in urine- it’s probably worse for the environment with the extra clothes and bedding that then needs washing!
When he did a poop it was awful just leaked out the sides all over himself.
Even worse when you think how much more these cost just to give you an upset dirty baby!

Going up to a bigger size nappies means the nappy is capable of handling more waste as they have more absorbent material. Even if you baby is not in the bigger nappy weight bracket, they still could benefit from the bigger size, especially if they are tall.

Not worth the trouble and all the extra washing
These nappies are leaking constantly, which leads to a complete change of clothes about 3 times a day and I spend half a day doing the washing. Decided to try these as I got the voucher and they are better for the environment, but I end up doing so many extra loads of laundry, making these nappies less eco friendly. The wipes are poorly packaged too, it's very difficult to open the packaging in the first place, and then you always pull at least two wipes out at the same time. And don't get me started on their emails, even when you opted out! Not worth trying.

I was happy with the nappies for our…
I was happy with the nappies for our son as a newborn but once his bowel movements became regular and daily we've had nothing but problems with leaking nappies. Straight up the back! It's almost like the nappie design funnels the poo straight up the back. To begin with I questioned whether we were changing him quick enough but I can't be quicker then immediately and this still leads to a full change of clothes. We've tried for 10 weeks but I've had enough now.
Delivery very prompt so that eeked the score to 2 stars rather then 1.

The Beaming baby own-brand biodegradable nappies aren't too bad. Nowhere near as good as Eco Naty though. What I'm leaving a review about is the utterly diabolical customer service, or lack thereof!
You buy, thinking promises of "no nappy rash or your money back" are genuine, but they are not! We bought a huge stack of reusable nappies, just as the lockdown started, so as to make sure we never ran out of nappies. We have used plenty of reusables and felt comfortable carrying on. Wow. Instant nappy rash and a REALLY bad case at that. Our little one has never had it until these nappies and the leaks were constant, plus her sleep pattern was disrupted and she was in so much distress all the time. Emailed to ask for a refund and was given a load of patronising advice about reusables. No mention of money back. I replied that we were no strangers to reusables but that the issue was the rubbish nappes. Bear in mind that a reply took well over A WEEK to come, each time!
Eventually told I would only get a 50% refund, as the nappies had been used. HOW ELSE CAN WE TELL OUR BABIES WOULD GET NAPPY RASH USING THEM?? I asked for confirmation when this was completed and nothing. Total radio silence.
Had isues before, with no communication when an order was weeks late. Nappies never arrive the next day, even when you place an order early in the day and the free postage codes? NOT A SINGLE ONE EVER WORKED!
Dire operation that is looking to make money from parents trying to be more ethical and considerate of their children. No actual care for the little ones being made to wear their awful products. Steer clear mums and dads, there are far better options out there and people that will listen to your concerns!

One year of nappies
I have been using Beaming Baby for almost a year.
Delivery is always fast, and customer service has always been brilliant, they are friendly and quick to respond.
I have only had had one order sent out wrong and in under 24 hours they had taken the wrong size nappies and replaced with the correct size (only had one mistake while using them, did not feel it was a big enough issue to mark them down for it)
The nappies them selfs are fantastic, I have never had a nappy “explode” with urine. My daughter sleeps 12 hours at night and the nappy will hold throughout the night. No leaks.
I can count on one hand the amount of times a beaming baby has leaked with poop/urine and in all honesty the times it’s happened I don’t think any other brand would have held what the child did (never had leaks at night)
In regards to no nappy rash, Baby’s never had nappy rash, besides when teething witch is common.
When the child was first born I was using other cruelty free brands of shampoo and my child had really bad cradle cap, flaking off all day long. I used Beaming Baby shampoo and body wash and I was surprised it quickly cleared up in 24 hours and it did not come back.
Every month I am sent offers with money off or free postage witch is helpful as my orders are normally under the amount for free postage.
I have read some reviews on here that are negative around Beaming Baby, maybe I am lucky and never had issues with the brand, I have seen comments where someone was unhappy with the free sample sizes, currently you can order two free samples at a time one sample pack comes with two nappies and four wet wipes in sealed packs, I like the samples as when my child goes up a nappy size a order a sample so I can check sizes when the current ones seem too snug. I also like the sample wipes as i leave them in baby’s changing bag, and if the big packet of wipes I carry runs out i have some back ups.

Only reason I haven’t voted 1 star is because I didn’t bother to use them long enough to vote lower. After originally trying to redeem a £20 voucher we got with a newborn pack with “no catches” I was going to try out some of their bath products, but later found out you could only use the voucher for £20 off the jumbo packs of nappies retailing at over £50!!! No catches huh.
Secondly, after trying to claim a free sample pack of nappies & wipes (why wouldn’t you want to trial these before using them at such ridiculous prices) I claimed one, then noticing you only get around 4 nappies and 3 or 4 wipes (yeah I know, have any of these actually ever had a baby?) I got my partner to claim one too to give it a good trial. Clearly our attempt was shot down as only one of our trial packs was delivered, must have noticed we both put down the same address. What a joke, 4 nappies and a few wipes.
From what we used the nappies didn’t even fit well to our newborn (tiny size ordered he was early) and the wipes were on par with a decent water based one that can be sourced at a fraction of the price.
Overall, unless you’re deadset on having biodegradable products, that costs you the earth to obtain id stick to more affordable comparable products.

We are a small family company with a product that we have spent an incredible amount of time researching and developing. Our mission is to help banish Nappy Rash by creating a Biodegradable Nappy with far fewer chemicals in than any other nappy.
We try to make as many offers as we can to encourage as many Mums and Dads to buy these nappies so that their babies can be free from Nappy Rash and all the horrors that come with this. As a relatively small company we cannot afford to make these offers with no commercial clauses as this just would not be financially viable on top of all we spend on research and development. We have previously made our sample offers free but this has sadly been abused on Freebie Sites and people just wanting free stuff.
We do take on board all your comments though Hannah as we really don't want to annoy anyone.

Great nappies. Great service!
Beaming Baby always send out their parcels very quickly. There is always a an opportunity for voucher or gift available.
I had trouble over Christmas with Yodel leaving my order and Matt from Beaming Baby's customer service department was so incredibly polite and sorted it all out for me quickly, efficiently. He completely restored my confidence. He was very apologetic, even though it was the courier's fault.
Beaming Baby's nappies are far better than the usual, popular nappy brands I've tried. They were the difference between bad nappy rash and severe nappy rash during the really hot months with my newborn.
I'd recommend their nappies and really route for their customer services team all the way!

disappointing product
I ordered these nappies after reading the good reviews, I received the nappies and was shocked to see how awful they are! packaged in plastic wrapping and the box was covered in plastic tape which to me defeats the reason why I have bought a biodegradable product. After trying the nappies I was disappointed with the quality they were crispy in texture and did not look soft for my baby to wear, after the first wear the nappy leaked poo all up my babies back after it only have being worn for 30mins and my baby being changed as soon as they had pooped! I would not recommend these nappies! I can only assume the reviews are fake!

The bag the nappies come in is made of low density polyethylene with an oxo additive, which means it will degrade. If you are taking advantage of our bulk discounted buys the card board box the packs of nappies come in is FSC certified.
It sounds like there may have been a manufacturing fault with the nappies you received, as the nappy really shouldn't be crispy. Regarding the leaks, it may have be a sizing error. Going up to a bigger size means the nappy is capable of handling more waste as they have more absorbent material. Amazing company, amazing customer service, so helpful any time I need to contact them. Very poor quality and highly …
Very poor quality and highly overpriced! The Velcro tabs on the sides are particularly weak and often break, even just trying to put them on. If children play with them at all, they come apart easily - meaning some nights I am using two or three nappies which are not even 'used' at all. Adds greatly to the overall price.
They hold a very small amount of pee before overflowing causing problems and distress at night time.
Not impressed with their bio-degradable claims. "Over 65% is biodegradable." What about the other 35%? And, their figures include the cardboard box it is packed in!! Makes it easy to get figures up to 65%.

Feel like i have been cheated on!
I bought nappies for my new born from beaming baby thinking it was the right thing to do as they do mention they are organic.
It was my fault as I blindly trusted the labelling without reading the ingredients in the packaging!
The beaming wipes gave the worst preservative out there which is phenoxythnaol which is known to be a very harsh preservative! Shocking to find that out! Huggles natural care has 0 phenoxythnaol! It's a very big shame to be honest.
Furthermore it was more upsetting when my new baby had a baby rash in the 1st week whilst using both beaming nappies and wipes.
My advice for new mother never trust marketing as unfortunate money in the marketing field is more important than our little ones! I don't recommend any new parents or parents who have a new born to trust this company and to even think of purchasing from them! As they are far too expensive with a very poor honesty levels and organic ethics!

Charlie has asked me to pass on his comments which he hopes will help put your mind and rest:-
The Phenoxyethanol used in Beaming Baby products is at a safe level, less than 1%.
We recognised that the market was raising questions about this Preservative and our new Fragrance Free Baby Wipes do not use it. We are currently working with several laboratories to develop an effective alternative that is approved by the Organic Food Federation, the Soil Association and Eco-Cert.
Preservatives, by their nature, are not 'nice' ingredients, but (with the help of the head Formulations expert from the Bodyshop) we developed an incredibly mild system using Phenoxyethanol combined with Organic Grapefruit Seed Extract and Potassium Sorbate back in 2002 for our Bath Products and Baby Wipes. At the time, this became known as the safest and most Environmentally Friendly alternative to Parabens.
This is an approved preservative system according to the Organic Food Federation and the Soil Association, and Phenoxyethanol remains on Eco-Certs list of Approved ingredients.
I can recommend our Fragrance free wipes, as they do not contain Phenoxyethanol.
