Belk is Awful

Belk advertised, if you order by 12/18, you will receive by Christmas. Well, I ordered on 12/16 and did not. I called to find out and they said if one item is out of stock(which no one told me) then nothing will be sent. WHAT???? That is utterly stupid!!! Then, the customer service rep told me that I would get my money back. Really, how kind. Belk is willing to REFUND money on an item I never received. Wow, how wonderful. Who knew you could get a refund on items not received. SARCASM! I will NEVER shop at BELK again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a pair of shoes

I ordered a pair of shoes. Total was $84 and some change. You have to pay $10.95 to return so brought my return amount down to $73 and change. They only credited me back $65 and change. They owe me 7.39 back because they could not due subtraction right. I called a month ago and the customer service lady agreed and opened a claim. She said give it 3-5 days to go through claims and 5-7 days to get back on cc. I called today 12/19/24 and customer service person basically said so sorry we are not wrong. This is a company where customer service is based over seas. So now I have ended up paying more to return it because I didn't get the difference back. HORRIBLE POLICY! WILL NEVET BUY FROM THIS SHITTY COMPANY AGAIN!!!

Thieves

I’m disgusted with Belk right now. DO NOT let them ship packages to you. They use a company called narvar who isn’t even bbb accredited and my package ordered on 11/25 is now lost. I can’t reach narvar. UPS said the tracking number I gave was usps which on 12/5 the package was supposed to change hands from ups to usps but narvar didn’t make it happen. Belk won’t refund me & both mail carriers say they can’t as well so I’m out $100 and won’t be getting my sweatshirt for the bowl game. If Belk sends you a message that says “out of stock. Ship for free instead to (address)” DO NOT CLICK YES unless you want to lose your product and money. I got no where with Belk, UPS or USPS and Narvar has a voicemail only. Pathetic and not a good corner to cut in Belk’s budget. Belk is huge. They can afford to partner with a bbb accredited shipper without some shady voicemail only setup. I literally feel like I could vomit over this. It was an early Christmas present from my mom and because Belk cut corners and partnered with a shady third party vendor I won’t get my sweatshirt and I’m certainly not chancing it by getting another one. So no Christmas present for me. Go to DICKS Sporting Goods instead. They do not partner with that cheap company and prices are the same.

Belk is Rubbish - Steer Clear

I ordered some jewelry from Belk for my wife and opened their Belk Rewards+ credit card because of a 20% off promotion. The coupon code was not received via email, nor in the mail with the credit card. I called several times to speak with Customer Service. No resolution. They said to open a dispute to receive the 20% off. Again, no resolution. I messaged them after the dispute results. Again, no resolution. I could have bought this item from another vendor and saved more money using my own credit card with 2% to 5% cashback. Now I wasted hours of my life speaking with and messaging Customer Service to never receive the 20% off, even when I took screen shots of the promotion and terms & conditions when opening the account (the item meets the terms & conditions requirement, i.e. isn't an exclusion of the promotion). I am 110% in the right and Belk dicked me out of $188.46. I have paid and closed the credit card and will never use Belk again. Now my credit score is negatively impacted too because of opening a piece of garbage Belk Rewards+ credit card and closing the account weeks later. This is totally crooked business practices. I urge you to steer clear of Belk and associated credit services.

I would love to award absolutely NO stars to this company!

I am amazed that there is no facility to give zero or negative stars!
I am not surprised at all the poor reviews of this store. I do not live in the US and have never shopped with Belk and despite this for the last few years I am constantly receiving emails from them. I have unsubscribed so many times I cannot count them. I have blocked their email addresses and still they come. Finally a year or so ago I got a response to my strongly complaining emails, and a promise that my personal email address would be removed from their database. I am still receiving them - this is more than annoying.
What a disgraceful way to conduct business!

This was the worse online experience I have ever had. The Chinese woman barely spoke English and had NO IDEA how I should send the item back for refund. It was clear she wanted me to give up on a refund and wanted to frustrate me. I will never shop here again. No store in Phoenix to make it easier to return. Terrible customer service.

Worst store ever WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN

I ordered some items for my son‘s birthday. That is today. I opened the box to wrap them and they sent me two different shoes and a watch box. It looked like a dog had gotten a hold of it. Called needed an exchange told me I had to wait 3 to 5 days for the claims department and then another 5 to 10 days to receive an exchange. I am completely disappointed. I will never ever ever shop at Belks again. Their customer service is horrible. Their policies make no sense.

Missing item. Not packed good

My order came with an item ..a shirt..missing. also o ordered a brahmin purse which was just thrown in the box. I was shocked..there was a piece of bubble wrap in box but nothing was wrapped.. just tossed in there..I did not expect this from Belk.

Shopping in the men's department

Shopping in the men's department, only one clerk on the entire floor. Took 15 minutes to check out with one person ahead of me, and the store was filthy, worn and stained carpet, trash and litter everywhere. selection of clothing was very poor, almost like shopping in a K-Mart, except dirtier.

Terrible customer service at Belk

Ever since Belk was bought your customer service SUCKS!!! I called to exchange a comforter that was damaged. I was told that I would receive a replacement and told me to donate the damaged one (which I was going to give to the Western North Carolina).
The comforter never came so I called Belk’s and a representative said that they would never say that.
Then I called back and was told I needed to return the damaged one and they would replace it. I had to go find another box to ship it back. I shipped it back and waited on the replacement which never came.
So I had to call again and asked where it was. I was told that Belk had NONE in stock. So I asked where my refund and it had been processed. I HAD TO ASK FOR THE REFUND, WHY?? Finally someone is processing the refund,
So I took a chance and stopped by the Belk at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh and guess what I found, not only did I find a replacement but there were SEVERAL ON THE SHELF. Done with Belk after being a customer for over 35 years

I ordered a phone case and received a box of noodles, I ordered 6 weeks! The customer service is awful, tried to email and all I had was it’s on its way then I received these today! And it’s noodles. Thank god I ordered early for Xmas or my son wouldn’t have had a phone case!

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Many agents have difficulty understanding English yet they are working on an English-speaking line. In addition, their computer system will not allow you to cancel or make changes to a return. So if you happen to make a mistake when placing your online return, you are stuck with it. I have tried several times to call them and ask them to cancel my returns because I made a mistake and they are not able to help. I have been very frustrated by this company and I will not shop here again or recommend them to others. I shop online a lot and have never had any problems with other vendors like Amazon, Macy’s, Dillards, etc., etc.

I purchased two rings from your Belk…

I purchased two rings from Belk online. I ordered these rings knowing they would need to be sized, so I took them to a long time jeweler in the area and had them sized and soldered together. I informed him the diamonds were real based on the description on their web page. Many of the diamonds turned blue during the process. He stated this only happens if the stones are treated/enhanced stones or lab grown. I had not informed him to take precautions as nothing in the description mentioned either of these things.

They have now been sized and soldered together ,which cost me an additional $160 to add the additional gold. I spent a lot of money on these rings and am very disappointed and confused how this could have happened since I purchased from a department store .

Next issue is when I showed him the ads to prove it stated they were real diamonds, he pointed out based on the photos shown on online page , and the rings I was sent , there were subtle differences he noticed right away that I wouldn’t have picked up. I did not get legitimate merchandise, I received inferior products.

The stones that turned blue are not even suppose to be in the ring, black prongs holding the chocolate diamonds are suppose to be there, the black prongs are not present in either ring but clearly shown in the online ad. This is fraud! The subtle differences were not obvious to me but once I showed the jeweler the original ads he spotted the differences right away. Once it was pointed out it was painfully obvious I did not receive legitimate Le avian rings or what was shown online when I made the order.

I wasted an additional $160 having the rings sized up and soldered together before learning they were fake imitations. This explains why they don’t ship in Le Vian boxes like everyone else who sells Le vian jewelers does. However I have never purchased jewelry before so I had no idea I was being scammed.

Now I am waiting to see if they will allow me to return the items for a full refund of the original payment even though they were altered considering I assumed I was being sent and sold legitimate rings or I would never have purchased or altered them.

Cheap and nasty tack!

The boots I received bear no resemblance at all to the boots pictured in the ad. The ones in the ad look sturdy and good quality- the ones I received are cheap and nasty tack! Disgusting! I wanted to include a photo of what I received, but conveniently there is no option to do this here but I will post on Facebook. I have tried to fill in the returns form online but they say they don’t recognise my order number or email address, yet they have managed to email me half a dozen times with offers! Also they want me to pay for the return😱….I don’t think so! I am taking this up with my banks fair trading service.

If out of stock they will send you something random!

I ordered about 12 shirts for my sons. And two of the shirts I received were just flat out not even close to what I paid for. When I called, they told me they were out of stock. Instead of just cancelling the graphic long sleeve and graphic short sleeve, they sent me two plain short sleeve shirts. When I called, I was told I could mail one back for a refund but the other one wasn't eligible for a return or refund. Like what?! They didn't send me what I paid for. How is it not eligible for a refund. I'm done with this company. I should have learned the last time I ordered from them and they sent a kids shirt instead of an adult medium because, again, they were out of stock. But they gave me a refund that time. This time she said she could send my request to a supervisor and I would get an email about it. It's been over a month and still no email. I just consider it money lost and a lesson learned.
