Very pathetic and non transparent…

Very pathetic and non transparent costing. I had been charged 60 EUR for 15 MB of data while I was in India. I was not knowing this earlier. Also when I was in Swiss they charged me 50 EUR not on just one number but 3 numbers I am using from Ben. for whole year I had paid close to 300 EUR extra. I am now porting to other provider. and this is for Ben -> you lost 3 numbers which I am using in family going to other provider.

I completely understand your frustration. Roaming costs outside the EU, like in India and Switzerland, can indeed be unexpectedly high if your device connects to a local network and uses data, even briefly.

If you feel the charges were unfair or unclear, I strongly recommend contacting our customer service. They can absolutely look into your case and see if a compensation is possible especially if the usage was unintentional or unclear.

No way to cancel a subsciption

This provider is okay until you decide to cancel your contract. Guess what, there is no official way to do it. There is no place in the mobile app where you can request a contract termination, and you need to log in to the website, where a form is well hidden and doesn't even work. I filled the form twice, I contacted the customer support 3 times, all this in a period of 3 months and my account is still active and I receive invoices for a service I stopped using months ago. I still try to figure out how to terminate my contract and its an outrageous process. I would avoid them from the beginning if I knew they work that way.

I have been with BEN for more than 10…

I have been with BEN for more than 10 years. The service is fine as long as nothing goes wrong, but the moment you need help, the customer service really fails.

When I was in Corfu, my internet suddenly connected to Albania’s network — no help from BEN at all. A few years ago, I requested a second SIM card, and instead of helping, BEN cancelled my main number by mistake. It took almost a month to get it fixed.

These experiences show that BEN doesn’t value customers when support or action is required. After more than a decade, I’ve decided it’s time to move on to another provider.

Ben Tracks and Charges You Abroad – Even If You Don’t Use Your Phone

I’ve been to Albania twice, and both times Ben charged me €60 for roaming, even though my phone was on airplane mode, with mobile data and data roaming turned off.

The first time, they refunded the €60. The second time, they told me they can only give this compensation once. compensation for what? for the mistake that your system did. and it's possible only one time? This makes me believe Ben has no respect for consumers’ privacy, because even when everything is switched off, they still track you and charge you if you’re outside Europe.

Customer service was no help at all. I spoke to four different people. One told me I should turn my phone completely off (black screen), which makes no sense, airplane mode with data off should already stop all network use. Another said, “when your phone is on airplane mode it shouldn't charge you and when i asked so why i get charge he said It’s the system, and sometimes we can’t describe the system.” and then what they asked me is a proof that can show my phone was on airplane mode. That is unacceptable. As a paying customer, I have the right to know exactly why I’m being charged.'

I also have another SIM card with Odido and the same bundle, I travel abroad with it, do exactly the same thing, and never get charged. This proves to me that Ben’s system is flawed and possibly fraudulent.

I am cancelling my subscription as soon as possible. To anyone reading this: look for a better provider. Ben is absolutely not what you’re looking for if you value privacy, transparency, and fair billing.

€60,- for 12Mb data in UAE/Dubai of a 14 year old forgetting to block data roaming. For minors out of Europe data usage should be blockable anyhow.

Need a phone number to get a phone number

You need a phone number to get a phone number. I'm moving to the Netherlands and wanted to sign up with Ben for my first Dutch SIM card, but apparently it's impossible unless you already have a 10-digit 06 number. If I had a 06 number, I wouldn't need to sign up for another one. You can't even use the contact form without creating an account. That's a poor customer experience.

Ben has been really helpful and…

Ben has been really helpful and reliable overall. The platform is easy to navigate and the support team responds quickly. There were a few small hiccups during setup, but nothing major. Definitely a service I’d recommend!

horrible

perfect for the blood pressure 🤬 always sorry for the inconvience .. this peoples will cost you a lot of money specially if you don't speak dutch ..( the app works only in dutch and they welcome you as english speaker only when you new custumor then they make it looks you fault ) they will use that .. bills over 100£ .. and we sorry for the incovience and when you need them to send you sim also inconvience and stuck in the systeme for over a 10 days .. bla bla bla .. every time you speak with a new one who blame his collegue and then we go again
