Not flexible

I only had 4 hours with Steve trimnell in Bristol and passed first time. Amazing teaching and got me out of my bad habits. Would 100% recommend

David was probably the best choice of instructor out there, hes patient and explains everything in a way that i would understand. Would hundred percent recommend

Dharmesh is by far the best driving instructor and teacher I've had. Very clear and eloborate explanations. Details everything you need to know without overwhelming you and most of all very calm and very kind. I passed first time with him as my instructor. 10/10 highly recommend him to all learners.

Thank you Bennett’s for all of your help! I passed first time with no minors and am so grateful to Paul, Michela and everyone at the office for their hard work! It was very easy to book lessons, and I learnt skills that helped me for life, and not just in passing the test.

Dharmesh is an amazing instructor, absolute God send. He genuinely is THE best instructor! He is very knowledgeable, professional, patient and very supportive! He helped me pass and gave me confidence to pass my driving test, specially after failing. Out of my other instructors he explained the lessons really well, was very patient and encouraging and helped me think independently in the road safely. He really went up and beyond to help me succeed specially when I found it hard. I would say he gives his all and really wants his students to do well. Thank you very very much Dharmest! Couldn’t have passed without your guidance and support!! 100 recommendation to my friends and family!!

Had Steve Trimnell as my instructor who is very clearly very experienced and great at explaining and teaching new things. He knows exactly when you are ready to move onto the next step even when you do not think you're ready; I was often very suprised at what I was able to do.

Can be a little harsh when things go wrong but likewise understanding and compassionate at other points.

He has very reasonable pricing and likewise is flexible with cancellations/resedualing. You also don't have to book a set schedule so I often chose different time and day each week which was very convenient with my colledge schedule.

Most importantly I passed first time! (With seven faults)

Additionally, Bennetts driving school was great for sending messages the night before to remind you of your upcoming lesson.

My boyfriend had a few lessons with Steve and found he was extremely helpful on information and techniques to pass the practical exam.

Jake passed 1st time with only 1 minor and couldn't have done it without Steve. He adapted to jake and showed/told him what to do and jake passed with confidence in June 2025!

I would highly recommend Steve from Bennetts Driving School as he makes you feel comfortable and pushes you to your full potential knowing what you are capable of.

Dharmesh is a brilliant and professional instructor. He is a nice, humble, polite and friendly person. He has wonderful driving teaching skills. I enjoyed taking driving lessons from him.

I had david as a instructor and passed in just 2 week more or less, couldn’t recommend him more, is straight up and doesnt stretch lessons of you dont need them. Definitely worth driving with.

Is a great driving school. I was assigned to Lee Dobson in swindon . He is a great instructor, very patient and motivating. I passed my test today, with first attempt even though one previous instructor told me I suck at manual so I should learn automatic . But I did it with the help of Bennetts Driving school.

After reviewing different driving instructors in Coventry, to embarked on my journey of learning how to drive with no prior driving experience. I came across Bennetts and decided to give it a try with David Watson in Coventry. It is the best decision I have ever made, even though I was worried about going for the test when I was not ready. He told me patiently, I am not ready, but when you are ready, I will take you for the test, which makes him just good. I enjoy my time with him. He is so patient and professional also takes his time to explain things clearly. Passed today on my first attempt. I could not ask for a better instructor than David. I am very grateful for his support, and I will recommend him to anyone looking for a driving instructor in Coventry.

Only rating this 1 star, due to the price. I did not have a good experience with Nick, located in the Gloucester area. I booked my first lessons with him after having a little bit of experience before hand. Firstly, he arrived 5 minutes late on my first lesson, and took 10 minutes driving, taking time out of my lesson. I booked a 2 hour starter lesson to start off with for context.

Secondly, when we did finally stop, he said to get into the drivers seat, and proceeded to tell me the basics which is fair. However, the tone in which he did this I did not like at all. He spoke down on me and spoke to me as if I was a 10 year old, and said every question wrong is more money I owed, in some respects it was okay, but other times when I was actually driving it distracted me and got on my nerves.

Thirdly, when we finished, we finished 10 minutes early and then drove home, getting to my house 5 minutes early when my lesson was meant to finish longer.

Moreover, when we arrived back at my house, his demeanour was not good, and when my mum came out and spoke about further lessons, he spoke very sarcastically. We went to book some more lessons, and they were only meant to be 1 hour, as he said the following week, 2:15 to 3:15.

Moving onto my second lesson (which would ultimately be my final lesson with him) he picked me up at my house, late again, and took 25 minutes driving!! Taking time out of a lesson I am paying for. After this, this is where I felt very uncomfortable in the car with him during this lesson.

Next, when we eventually stopped so I can get into the driving side, he spoke to me very sarcastically and rudely, and i made some minor mistakes , not “setting the gas correctly” and moving over to the left to allow for a car to get past, and he did not just speak to me in a lower tone and settle it. No he did not. He shouted at me, and grabbed the wheel firmly and pushed it, knocking my confidence and not wanting to drive with him.

Furthermore, he was not patient, and when we were doing small junctions, he told me to stop, secure the car, set the gas correctly, and then move off , taking 2 minutes. Then, he wasn’t really paying attention and he was checking his phone a few times, and when I asked about is it this turning here he would be sarcastic. When I accidentally let off the clutch to quickly as well he would shout at me, and he also got in a mood if I took my foot off the clutch in first gear.

Then, he actually let me drive home instead of him driving, so I finally got more value out of the lesson which was not much anyway, and while doing this he was telling me to use one hand to turn round corners, and at one point when we were driving told me to take both hands off the wheel and cross them to show me the car would not turn. This shook me up visually and I was not happy.

I had 2 more lessons booked with him and I wanted to cancel them, so I messaged him, however he did not get back to me so I had to contact Bennett’s directly. I would not recommend Bennett’s to anyone as it seems their instructors have no patience and also cancel all the time, as my cousin has had a similar experience in Gloucester with constant cancellations. I would not be recommending them to anyone stay clear.

In a different picture, I am not happy that he took almost an hour out of driving time altogether in 2 lessons because he was driving. He was also incompetent when teaching me as he had no patience for when I would eventually stall or not use the gear stick how he wanted me to hold it. I was paying nick to teach me how to drive not to talk for half an hour. Also, in my first lesson, he took 20 minutes just to explain how to use my mirrors and move my seat, and also went on to talk about how mirrors work because he was marking gcse physics papers that week. It really got on my nerves.

I also forgot to mention for my second lesson, as i mentioned previously it was meant to be an hour, he actually booked me for 2. I confirmed it when I booked it with him after my first lesson and he said it would be an hour. When in an actual fact it wasn’t. That was very cheeky and took most of my money away from affording any more lessons. And also made me feel anxious of whether or not further lessons would all be booked for 2 hours.

On a different note, his car was very dirty, as it had lots of mud in the footwell and on the doors. Made me feel disgusting.

I would not be booking with Bennett’s again and I’m unhappy that almost an hour was taken away from my driving lessons and experience due to an incompetent driver who cannot trust people and talks down like they are 10 years old.

A big thank you to Dharmesh from Bennett’s Driving school. I passed my test 1st time with him! He is an amazing driving instructor and explained everything clearly and calmly and happily repeated instructions when I needed.

I had David Watson from Bennett’s as a driving instructor and couldn’t have asked for a better person to teach me. I learnt everything really easy as a nervous driver before I’ve gained all my confidence and now enthusiasm for cars from him. Passed first time and it’s all down to his patience and way of teaching how to drive. Definitely recommend him to anyone looking to drive first time lessons or people that have took a gap from learner like myself. Really really great instructor and will miss the fun of lessons!

David was amazing. He was recommended to me by family and was an incredibly amazing instructor. I passed second time with him and he was knowledgable about the routes! I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn!

Dharmesh is a brilliant, calm, polite, patient, and very resilient instructor.

During my lessons, I often make silly mistakes repeatedly, but he corrects me without making me feel stupid. He gives me confidence and makes me feel like I can do this. You get the sense that he genuinely wants you to succeed. Dharmesh is a wonderful instructor and I would recommend him to everyone. Choose him, and you will pass!
