I ordered a pair of Louboutins at full price. After trying them on in a carpeted room, I wasn't sure enough about the fit to keep them at this price so packed them up and sent them back. I was refund... See more

If I could give them no stars
If I could give them no stars, I would. I returned a Chloe bag because Bergdorf sent me the wrong bag. The package left my hands, was scanned at the FedEx facility and never made it back to them. I have gone rounds and rounds with both FedEx and Bergdorf and they’re both pointing the finger at each other. In the meantime, I’m still on the hook for the $900 bag that they refuse to refund me for. From the looks of these reviews, I’m not the only one. Shameful for a high end store…..
I printed out a return label and mailed…
I printed out a return label and mailed the item back several weeks ago. Yesterday , I received a package with an empty box from NMG group, which is part of Bergdorf’s, with no explanation. They did not provide a refund and the sandals were definitely in the box when it was shipped.
Bergdorf refuses to issue a refund due to a FedEx issue
An item I returned to Berdorf was likely lost by FedEx and Bergdorf refused to issue a refund since they are not in possession of the returned item, even though I used the return shipping label that the store provided and charged me $10. Bergdorf should resolve it with FedEx directly rather than withhold a customer's refund.
I gave them 1 star but if I could I…
I gave them 1 star but if I could I wouldn’t give them a star at all. I have purchased several items from them over the years and never had a problem if I had to return an item. I made a purchase of a Chloe blouse on June 5, 2025. After receiving it and trying it on I decided it wasn’t for me so I returned it on June 22 via UPS since I purchased it online. I had totally forgotten about the return until I got the blouse back on July 31, 2025. I contacted the customer service and was told my return wouldn’t be honored and that the blouse was worn. I explained that I have never worn the blouse and the tags are attached to the blouse. I also asked why no one contacted me if there was an issue with my return only to have the supervisor tell me in a very rude manner that he didn’t know why they didn’t contact me but it doesn’t matter since the decision by their return department is final.
Just beware that when you spend your money at Bergdorf Goodman online that even if you return your item in an unworn state, tags attached and within 30 days their sales department will lie and say the item was used to keep your money. My advice is to go directly to the vendor which is what I will be doing.
Unethical and Dishonest Practices at Bergdorf Goodman
I am absolutely outraged by my experience with Bergdorf Goodman. I ordered a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes that arrived in a clearly used condition. The soles were visibly dirty, showing unmistakable signs of prior wear or having been tried on. I didn’t even try the shoes on myself since this was a duplicate order—I had already received the exact same pair from another retailer just two days earlier.
I returned the shoes immediately, on the very same day, and informed Bergdorf Goodman in writing about their unacceptable condition. Instead of taking responsibility, they refused to accept the return, absurdly insisting that the shoes were shipped new and accusing me of wearing them. This is a blatant lie and an outright refusal to acknowledge their mistake. They failed to provide any proof—no pre-shipment photos or inspection documentation—that the shoes were ever shipped in new condition.
This behavior is downright disgraceful and completely unacceptable. Bergdorf Goodman shows zero respect for their customers and has absolutely no integrity when it comes to standing behind their products. Their blatant deception and refusal to take responsibility prove they care only nothing about honesty or quality. I warn everyone to steer clear of this company. Their business practices are rotten, and their customer service is an absolute disgrace.
Horrible Exchange Dept
Horrible Exchange Dept - I ordered a $1500 dress and returned it promptly because it was too big. They received the return June 26th - as of July 22nd the return department has not responded to customer service regarding the refund. I was told by customer service this happens from time to time. I have now gone to BBB
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I received a $1,500 Chloe bag from Bergdorf. I didn't like the color and wanted to return for a different color. I processed an online return, received a return shipping label and physically dropped off the package at Fed Ex and received a drop off receipt. Neither FedEx or Bergdorf have any tracking information. Bergdorf won't file a claim with FedEx because they said I still have the package. The package that I physically dropped off and received a receipt? NOT!!!! They won't even try to assist and keep telling me to call FedEx, who tells me to call Bergdorf. These people are the WORST. The customer service reps are also the WORST. This never happens with Nieman's of Saks. Never buying anything from this store EVER!!!
Extremely poor customer service
I received an item that was totally defective. They wouldn't even care to help or assist. Horrible attitude couldn't care less what the customer had to say. What an awful experience
Extremely Disappointed with Return Experience with Bergdorf Goodman
I ordered a dress from Bergdorf Goodman for my daughter’s wedding, which is still seven months away. When it arrived, I didn’t thoroughly inspect or photograph it, but I did try it on once for just a few minutes at home. I didn’t love the fit or look, so I returned it promptly with all original tags still attached.
Weeks passed and I noticed I hadn’t received a refund. When I called, I was told the return was rejected due to "stains" on the dress and that the item would be sent back to me. I was shocked. I wore it for less than five minutes inside my home and absolutely did not stain or damage it.
I respectfully escalated the issue, but their customer service was completely unyielding. This is incredibly frustrating and feels unjust. For comparison, I recently ordered and returned two dresses to Neiman Marcus without any issues—and the third one I kept.
I’m still trying to resolve this, but at the moment, BG has my money and apparently, they are send me a dress I don’t want. Very upsetting and disappointing experience.
Received used shoes and wouldn't let me return
I ordered a pair of $1225.00 Manolo Blahnik 90mm Hangisi Pumps for my wedding day this coming October. They arrived dirty, worn and damaged. When I tried to return them, they wouldn't accept them because they were worn and damaged. I should have known when it said "last one in stock" online.
Bergdorf Goodman literally scammed me.
Taking my money and sending me something that was dirty and used and then saying it was my fault when I tried to get my money back. It's truly despicable and disgusting. Never in my life, have I ever ordered something, worn it and then tried to return it. If you ever order online from BG, I recommend taking a video of you unboxing it so that you have proof of what they send and its condition.
Received pants that had bodily fluid on…
Received pants that had bodily fluid on it. I was offered a 10% off discount for the trouble. How despicable of them to continue to sell me on keeping the item when I was clearly upset that I received something beyond disgusting. I paid $350 for silk pants and they really think I want a discount to make it better? They said for cleaning fees. I urge you to have better standards for yourself and not buy from this company. They’re low class and trash. I’ll take my business to their competitors who actually know how to do their job and offer good customer service. Let’s see how long it now takes to get a refund which from reading the reviews seems like a lifetime.
Terrible Bergdorf Goodman/Neiman Marcus Experience
I cannot believe what I am reading in these reviews. I had the exact same, terrible, experience. Bought a size 10 skirt. It was too small. Ordered the 12 the same day. It did not fit right. Returned both via Fed Ex. Was credited for the 12 immediately and when I called to find out about the other, was told the warehouse said the size 10 skirt was worn. I have been fighting for 2 months. I took the skirt to the store and the customer service agent said it had NOT been worn. Had all the tags and creases from being folded in the box. I won the dispute because Chase had my back and I had photos, emails, etc. I will never buy from them again. I could not believe the poor customer service and accusations. Never in my life have I worn something and returned it. Nordstrom, Farfetch, Ssense all the way in the future.
Wrong Description
I ordered Veronica Beard Sandals because of description on website saying lining leather, sandals leather, imported. They are made in China and totally plastic. I do not trust any more writing on Bergdorf Goodman item descriptions.
Red Alert
I wished I had read the reviews from Bergdorf Goodman before I purchased a $700 dress. On my return and waiting for my refund-- I too was told that the dress was dirty and had perfume smells on it. First I took very good care of the dress at home and in the shipping of the dress back-- and guess what-- I don't wear perfume! The store sent the dress back to me in a dirty box with no information inside, very wrinkled and no perfume or any odor at all on it. It didn't even look like the dress I had sent them!! Sounds like this once very reputable store is running a scam!!! Especially if this is happening to so many people. I was out $700 from their false allegations. I have sent many dresses back to Nordstrom, Saks, Macy and many of the high end stores and this has NEVER happened to me. Again if this is happening to others it should be a Red Alert and investigated. I am still stunned at this strange and fraudulent procedure I experienced on my return. They know what they are doing! So sad! I will never order from them again, First time and never again.
Disappointed
As a loyal and long term customer of BG, Im disappointed with my recent experience with this store.
I ordered an Eres swimsuit online, a brand I know well and have worn for years. Upon arrival, the quality was unexpectedly subpar — not what one would anticipate them(I didn’t even try it on due to this), I returned the item promptly, only to encounter an unexpectedly convoluted process.
Initially, the return was marked as “untraceable” within the warehouse system, which in itself was concerning. Weeks later, the item was sent back to me, accompanied by a claim that the return was invalid due to the absence of a protective liner. However, as someone familiar with the Eres line, I found this reasoning unfounded. Not only have I purchased Eres swimwear from other reputable retailers such as Neiman Marcus — where items also arrived without liners — but I also verified through various NWT resale listings that Eres bikini bottoms often do not come with protective liners at all. This suggests a broader industry standard, rather than an anomaly or policy violation.
I’ve never before encountered a situation where such an inflexible and poorly substantiated policy was applied, especially without regard for customer history or the nuances of the brand in question. Given the handling of this situation — from lost return to refusal — I’ve had to escalate the matter through my credit card issuer.
I still hold BG in high regard and hope this was an isolated incident. However, this experience has raised serious concerns about how returns are managed and how exceptions are evaluated — particularly for loyal, long-term customers. For a store synonymous with luxury and service, I expected better.
Never received my $520 shoes and they…
Never received my $520 shoes and they refuse to refund until the FedEx claim is completed. I was told on multiple occasions that I would receive my refund in a few days. It’s been almost a month. Worst customer service ever and I will never purchase from them again. I had to file a claim with my bank and am still waiting on my refund.
Published timescales are just made up
There was a hat I could only get in the US. Ordered it in plenty of time to my hotel for when I would be in the US for 8 days….no they couldn’t get it to me. When time was getting close I tried to cancel and kept getting told cancellation was pending, and even though my out of stock item got restocked implying it had been they wouldn’t confirm it to me. Asked if i could reorder with next day shipping (still 3 days to go) and they said no that probably wouldn’t reach me. What is the point of next day shipping, or delivery time scales, or cancellations or anything!
Amazon has more high end service than this place
Amazon service is more high end than this company. I purchased an expensive pair of shoes here solely (no pun intended) based off a January promo for a gift card. I could have gotten a better deal at another store if the gift card wasn’t in play. First order ever and I spent just enough on the shoes and a pair of overpriced socks to get the promo. They later canceled the socks as no stock. Okay, I get it. It happens. I reached out to CS to ask about the gift card because now my total was like $20 shy of the promo before tax and I asked if they were still honoring the gift card, after all, I still spent a lot of money, it was their fault for listing an item not available and I was just barely shy of the total. I even told the person that if I wasn’t eligible anymore, I would return the shoes and just buy the shoes cheaper at the competitor. Only made sense if I got the gift card so I needed to know. I was told it would take up to 8 weeks to get the gift card and if I didn’t get it to reach out and they would see what they could do for me. It’s been over 8 weeks and nothing. I reached out to CS tonight and they gave me some random card phone number to call and the hours. Super shady. I was told I had to be the one to call, not them. Makes absolutely no sense. Never have I had a run around or been told the company that chose to use some sketchy third party gift card service couldn’t be the one to contact and figure this out on behalf of the customer. How much do we all want to bet they won’t honor the gift card because it was short and when I reach back out again, even with my screen shot of the last convo, they will tell me there’s nothing they can do. Regardless, the fact that the item was canceled after purchase, that I was told to contact them back, but really it was some card service she could have given me that number to start and I would have skipped CS tonight and now they make you do their leg work. Even if they did honor it, I wouldn’t shop there again other than spending that gift card. It’s really bad when this is the service you get from a store that sells underwear that costs more than it does to feed myself for a month. I honestly never even thought to check reviews for a place like this. Must be everyone else’s downfall too. I hope others are smarter than me and do their homework on here before bothering.
They do not respond when contacted
They do not respond when contacted. I got tagged by a company called Affirm without my permission when I had made a charge card puchase and Did Not need nor requested to make payments. I have yet to hear back from Bergdorf but continue to be hounded by Affirm. Be careful!
Beware of deceptive marketing
I purchase an expensive dress on sale online. The item was extremely missized. When I called to get a shipping label, the person on the phone was extremely rude. Basically, did not apologize for my inconvenience and implied that I was a liar! I have shopped online for years and never had a problem. I will never shop there again. Also, beware, when I told them that I was done with their store, they told me that the item was "final sale." I would never buy something, especially a designer who I have never work, that was "final." I printed my order and my delivery slip to prove that it was not final.
