There are cockroaches,changing rooms…
There are cockroaches,changing rooms are not adequately heated. The showers are either freezing cold or boiling hot. There is no water pressure getting changed is a nightmare the sauna is not manned and there was 20 people in the steam room on Monday women’s day they are not all booking as not wearing bands it is shocking something needs to be done there was nearly a fight in the steam room some rules need to be put in place for example no band no entry to keep numbers down and it needs better cleaning also lockers some doors are off hinges and on floor can never find one as people just leave stuff inside without locking all in all needs an overhaul

Impossible to book
Impossible to book. Terrible website and app. Can't make payment over the phone. Have spent 2 hours on this with a toddler in hand, trying to book him a swim lesson, and now I think the class is full. Then I spent 20 minutes on hold trying to get more information. Ended up hanging up. Need to move on.
Can't imagine the issues someone older or not tech savvy would have. Really needs improvement.

Personal trainers in the gym
Beware of the personal trainers in the gym! I don't understand why Britannia lets them roam free to approach potential clients while they are exercising. It's so uncomfortable and makes you feel like you're on some weird meat market.
I was approached by a very persistent PT who talked me into a taster session. Right after the session he explained what he offered, recommended the most expensive package at £870 a month - and straight away asked for my credit card details. When I said I wanted to think about it and didn't have the money that day, he called his manager who insisted on my credit card details.
I had no time to consider the offer, which was not suitable for me anyway.
I don't understand why Britannia lets these people operate on their premises. This was the second time this happened to me, and though I love the gym there normally, I will cancel if this happens again.
I emailed Britannia about this last week but never got a reply.

High-pressure tactics or unsolicited sales conversations, especially during a member’s workout, are not acceptable.

I recently visited the leisure centre…
I recently visited the leisure centre for a swim and found it increasingly difficult to enjoy the facilities due to ongoing issues. Three lanes were already taken by a swim club - why are they coming during rush hours? Membership payers are not able to freely use the lanes and are put into 1-2 lanes. The fast lane was being used appropriately, but the slow lane was packed with a large group of same group of teenagers who seemed more interested in socialising than swimming. They were treating the area like a playground, making it difficult for anyone else to use the space properly and having to swim around them.
There have also been repeated issues outside the pool — especially in the sauna and changing areas — where there’s loud shouting by the same teenager group, disruptive behaviour, and a lack of basic courtesy. One visitor politely asked for quiet and was met with a hostile response, slurs and name calling in the changing area. Some of us have even observed these individuals lingering around unattended belongings, which raised security concerns especially by shoe zone and lockers.
These problems seem to occur regularly with the same group, if not 2 different groups, often aged mid-to-late teens, who appear to come in together at around 7-8:30pm and dominate certain areas without much regard for others. Unfortunately, there's minimal staff intervention. While there’s little to no enforcement of appropriate behaviour in shared spaces. Lifeguards are often positioned away from the sauna area, which is where many of these issues occur.
It’s disappointing to see such a well-equipped centre undermined by poor supervision and a lack of accountability. I hope management takes feedback seriously and begins addressing these patterns to make the space more respectful and welcoming for all. I question if all of them have memberships at all.

Receptionists being receptionists
The front desk staff are extremely rude with 0 professionalism.
Points to consider. You are renting out a sports hall space, to me at a charge. Why then is it an extra £3 for additional players? I didn't know I could play badminton on my own. It's a joke. I would have paid the extra £3, but the rudeness of the receptionist staff deterred me from doing so. She had no clue in how to speak to customers, I'm not sure why kids are hired to fill up space as receptionists, when they have no clue of how the booking system works. I showed her the booking system on my phone and at no part did it say to pay an extra £3. The signs are up by the exits so customers cannot see when they walk in? Which makes a lot of sense.
The space is great, but I'd never go here again, because the receptionists really let this place down with their behaviour. They need new staff ASAP!!!!

Swim test
Britannia i don’t know what happened but when i booked you never said in the booking that’s there is a swimming test I’m 13 swimming in atleast 2 meter pool and your testing me in a 5 meter pool you wasted my time you also wasted my money and that lady with the half up half down I’m not happy with her.

Pointless tennis court
I'm only talking about the tennis courts here. Quite frankly it's embarrassing that you charge £10 an hour plus £3 entry if you're not a member to play on this joke of a tennis court. Whoever's decision it was to install this surface I can only imagine it was done on the cheap. Completely unplayable waste of an afternoon and waste of money.
