It was very easy, not complicated and if you are interested in anything like gym swimming etc you should definitely use better for sure.

Disgusting Rooms and unhelpful staff
The gates wernt working properly to get tried scanning and using QR but staff who were 5 feet away did nothing and jsut said keep trying. The dry changing rooms are closed the wet ones are disgustingly dirty and had children pissing on the floor while the adults laughed. Went to the one swimming lane open and thrn 10 mins in they start having swimming lesson children jumping in the pool using that only swimming lane despite having 5 others lanes in thr pool sectioned off for them. Had to pause my session and wait for the to finish

The woman’s gym is absolutely filthy and smells it’s not been cleaned in months and I think it’s so bad for them to leave it like that for people to use the equipments

I would love to have been able to provide a five star review but the reality is that the services have become to expensive, restrictive as you have to now pay even more to use more than one centre and the facilities are in a poor state of repair. So in a nut shell most can't afford to keep fit.

I had such a wonderful experience at this leisure centre! The staff were incredibly accommodating and genuinely helpful from the moment I arrived. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with a smile, which made my visit so much more enjoyable. Extremely disappointed with the treatment we received at Eastham Swimming Centre today. As a parent of a 7-year-old autistic child, I was shocked when the duty manager, Julian, rudely shouted at us while I was assisting my son on the slide. He said, “this is his first and last time on the slide” — completely inappropriate and lacking any empathy or understanding. Inclusivity clearly means nothing here. Staff need serious training on how to treat children with special needs. We left feeling hurt and unwelcome. I won’t be returning or recommending this place to other families.

Disappointing
The gym and general areas are dirty, dust accumulated on windows and machinery. There are leaks in many places with buckets collecting which could be a hazard.
Toilets also not clean and often do not have tissue in the holder.
Gym equipment is outdated, squeaky and often mobile equipment not in place. Required bars to use cable machines not available.
For the price of the membership and comparison to other local gyms not worth it.

Heartbreaking experience
As it was first time my son went in the pool so he was bit scared. Instead of encouraging him teacher ignored him and paid attention to the kids who were doing well. It was really heart broken as I paid for lesson as well and no one paying attention at him. Half an hour he was just wasting time inside the water and even that when he was scared teacher left him outside the pool I had to interfere and encouraged him to go inside then she asked me to leave and left my son to do whatever he wants and strats teaching other kids which demotivates my son more

I’m writing as a long-time member
I’m writing as a long-time member, previously at the Active Newham site, to express serious concerns about the current state of the gym.
Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been deeply disappointing. The facilities — especially the toilets — are not being maintained to an acceptable standard. On two occasions, I encountered extremely unhygienic conditions, including faeces smeared on the wall of a studio toilet cubicle and the overwhelming smell of urine in the downstairs toilet. These issues not only breach basic hygiene standards but also present a health risk.
What’s more concerning is that this decline in cleanliness comes alongside a noticeable rise in membership fees. As a paying member, I expect a safe, clean environment and functioning equipment — something that was consistently maintained when the site was under Active Newham.
I urge you to take immediate action to resolve these issues. If improvements aren’t made, I feel compelled to escalate this matter further, including documenting the conditions and contacting higher authorities.
I would appreciate a prompt response outlining the steps being taken.

The prices is so high
The prices is so high. I'm long time user of this gym and was with them when it was £27 then £30. When better took over it has ruined it for everyone. Even though I don't swim I was happy to pay £30 because it was less busy then other gym in area even though other gyms are less In membership.
But £41 for only using gym facilities and not swimming it is ridiculous. I hope they will introduce a membership with that is only for gym not for swimming.
Other wise I hope and pray that they go out if business.
