We signed up for swimming lessons and after the first lesson was cancelled we have had very little communication as to how this will be reimbursed. I tried calling but just get bounced to the main centre and then when visiting the actual leisure centre the staff were lovely but again could give me no more information. Very disappointing

Better UK offer fantastic value for money. The Gosford swimming baths gym I attended have really good facilities and fantastic staff,
The only reason I am giving it two stars is because I lost my enthusiasm for going to the gym once they changed the layout of the changing rooms. Although there had always been one good shower in the men’s changing rooms, all the others were pretty poor with most only operating for five seconds with very low pressure, so you had to stand with your back pressing the shower button in order to get a constant flow of water
However, there was one shower which was placed in a cubicle which worked reasonably well giving you a full 20 to 30 seconds with one push, and the pressure seem to be slightly better than the rest.
Around six months ago, they changed the changing rooms to mixed sex, but they never had the insight of spending all that money to improve the showers. They had also taken away the one good shower that was in the cubicle.
Because of this, and the cubicles being very small to get changed in, I decided to leave the gym.
It’s kind of defeats the object when you have to exercise, and then go home for a proper shower after exercising because the shower facilities are very poor.

The pool for swimming for fitness should be open later than 6pm during the summer holidays for people that work full time and can only go swimming in the evening during the summer months .Also the leisure centre in West Denton still hasn't even started being built yet !

Went in to speak about the swimming classes and the lady at the desk was useless and knows nothing. I think an email address should be provided so we can contact the coaches for questions or if we can't attend.

There is not enough spaces for yoga at Gosforth leisure centre and we miss the sessions or have to wait on the waiting list to find a space by chance. Please increase the number of spaces for each session as it could be at least 25 people, however we are only 18 in the class.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. I have to use crutches and they went out of their way to help me to get a changing room and locker. They then went with me to the pool to make sure I got in OK. They did the sane thing in reverse when I got out. I really can't rate the experience highly enough

The staff are very friendly and helpful as are others who use the leisure centre. The facilities are fine and well run. The only issue I have as a new member is that the sauna and steam room closes at 1100 and re-opens at 1600, which is a shame. It must cost money to cool the facilities down and reheat after the interval

Bad system. Some canny staff but they too are a bit tired of some of the unnecessary systemic issues. Charged a fine for being late even though i was there.
So started booking as got there. Woman at desk said sauna was full (there was 1 person in) so i couldn't get in but did anyway. Bad system or tired staff.
Staff are often away from desk to do other daft things no doubt as like some supermarkets and delivery companies they want to squeeze every molecule of energy and work from them actually making things worse like in a supermarket at times they're on the phone lifting their earpiece calling someone saying 'WHAT!?' to you the customer. What happened to service? The customer is not always a T#@T!
Must we really have our phones in the gym swim and sauna where it can be lost, stolen damaged against equipment or water. I say ban them. Also in gym often people are sitting on their phones not working out its daft. Sort it out guys
Don't be in defence of a bad system
Edit: in response to your reply can’t you set it up so you use gym card to access facilities. If staff member not on desk and that’s often you have to ask to be let into gym if don’t have a phone with you and you always have to ask for the sauna code which gives little electric shocks and easily opens to the electrical source when people are using it when they’re wet on a wet floor.
You can get the charges taken off yes but in addition to the unnecessary messages I have in my email each time I book on I have to check carefully if I have been fined or ask at desk on a daily basis. You can fined if not exactly on time as well and presumably kept waiting if early.
Let’s just repeat that. I have to check on a daily basis to see if I have been fined for something yous know if wrong, happens all the time, and is your fault. I turned up once, and I hear it happens all the and the system or the staff said sauna was full. Having had enough of it I went in anyway and there was one other person the whole time and nobody in pool. Few days later a fight could have started when a guy kept waiting knocked on sauna door as I had to having been left in reception to book in and stormed past the person letting them in.
Many people use the sauna are coping with ailments and come to relax and you make it unnecessarily difficult. Would be nice to come and go as you please from sauna to swim but you must pick which is less than pointless because people are booking several time slots.
We are treated like mental patients. The staff in defence of your bad system blame us with attitude or absence. Everyone says so. I would not be writing this if was just me. The large uncomfortable wrist bracelets that leave a sharp metal object next to your artery could be done away with as well. A rubber band round leg is better.
I was glad to see having been away a year changes had been made for the better. For years you would have to walk through reception from pool to sauna and you changed that but now children and adults together is that better. There’s a big sign saying no mobile or recording equipment for obvious reasons and I hear the boards on top of the changing rooms are to prevent perverts looking or recording and a man was recently caught exposing himself blatantly in the sauna changers to the children in the main changing areas. You have been told about this already and it must stop. Let the children change in the other side like they used to before a case comes your way.
But hey great to see you no longer squeeze money out of members with the lockers now. Good job 👍

Both of my kids have swimming lessons with Better. My youngest just started and had very little experience in the water. They were so patient with him and I can see that he is already gaining confidence

I have not been able to use the gym as the inductions that were available were all during office hours. There are none at all this week. I understand it's close to Christmas but it's 30mins. All of the classes are constantly fully booked and there are only 1 or 2 outside office hours. You can't book any classes in advance past the current week. None of this was apparent when I signed up. Iam hoping it improves after Christmas, if not there is little point being a member. I shouldn't have to take a holiday from work for a 30min induction as the ones i did see where for 10:30am weekdays only. I also shouldn't have to work out when the classes go live so I can be the fastest finger first to get the only one that starts after 5:30pm.

Intensity of exercises in classes can be higher.
I was sent back home from spinning class despite booking in advance as bikes were broken .
