What’s happened to the music?
I’d normally give this centre a 5 star review, mainly due to the fabulous staff who work there. I find the staff on the reception area pleasant, friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I have been a regular visitor to the centre for well over a year and attend aqua aerobics twice weekly. Both regular aqua instructors, Viktoriia and Siana are great and they work hard to make our routines enjoyable. However, of late, the music which they have used during the class is very uninspiring and it doesn’t allow for the brilliant, individual routines which they prepare for us. This has taken away a lot of the enjoyment of the class. Is this to be a permanent change? I really hope not as the classes are far less enjoyable than they used to be and I am not alone in thinking this. Can you please revert to allowing the instructors to choose their own music for their classes.

In reference to the music, we’re aware that there has been some concern and confusion about the changes to music licensing in our fitness classes from this Spring
In late 2025 we became aware that the cost of our current music license that covers all our 250 leisure centres and gyms across the UK would increase significantly. As a charitable social enterprise focused on community benefit, we carefully reviewed our options to ensure we continue to invest our resources responsibly and sustainably.
Following this review, we asked our fitness instructors to transition to PPL pre-cleared, royalty-free music. This approach allows us to manage rising costs while continuing to deliver the high-quality classes you expect.
In practical terms, all instructors are being provided with free access to Power Music; one of the most widely used fitness music platforms. Power Music enables instructors to create their own playlists using professionally recorded studio tracks (not AI-generated), giving them flexibility while ensuring full compliance with licensing requirements.
We hope this provides reassurance and clarity about why we have made this decision, the care we have taken to engage with and support our instructors and our commitment to maintaining your class experience. As we implement these changes we will continue to monitor feedback and engage with staff and customers.

5 Star Gym- Worth every penny
Better Gym- Walthamstow Stadium is a fantastic gym. The staff are friendly, welcoming and genuinely care about their members The classes are my favourite aspect with excellent quality and energy led by fantastic instructors with lots of time options to fit any schedule. I went from never going to the gym in my life to spending most of my time there. Better Gym is a lovely little community that you build with both staff and members
Huge shout out to Eithan who is an outstanding instructor. He’s helped and advised me on a condition and injury and he always goes above and beyond for members. He leads some of the best and most popular classes in the gym and brings incredible support and motivation every time. The membership is 100% worth it

Better Health Walthamstow Stadium leisure centre is my favourite leisure centre of all time and I've been to some. Anything is possible if you communicate with Eithan or James. They support you to understand what can or cannot be done whatever it is and they follow it up. (Unlike other places I could mention). They help you in their fitness classes, your fitness journey, your ideas for fitness classes. I bought the most expensive membership…
I bought the most expensive membership without any discounts thinking it will allow me to take my daughter to soft play as part of Crèche.
1. The website or app does not specify that the soft play is not included in crèche and that this center does not even have crèche.
2. The gym is always supper busy and the toilets are dirty as if we are in some £20 a month gym!
3. The leg workout machines are all out of balance.

Avoid, very dirty
I have been in 3 of their centres, all very dirty, we can not even change our daughters inside because there is no clean space.
Also very bad customer service, we are trying to cancel our memberships for more than 1 month as we cannot figure it out in my account which one is what. We got 3 parking charges although we paid the parking via their app. Worst company I have ever deal with.

Most comfortable gym I’ve ever been to!
I’ve been coming to this gym since it opened in 2019, for me finding a gym where I feel comfortable and has a good vibe and good energy is super important. Everyone that goes to this gym is so easy going and friendly, they just get on with it but also make everyone feel welcoming. The classes are great and the location is super convenient for me, I’ve been coming religiously for 6 years and I’ve gone to many gyms in the past even super high end ones and this has been my favourite :) staff and trainers are lovely and friendly also! Thanks guys :)

It is not too crowded, everyone is friendly and respectful.
Music could be better but everyone has different taste. You could use AI to put music depending on the age range. I hate capital FM.
