Great pool and staff but terrible tech
Great pool and staff but terrible tech. Registering online is a pain and the code bar to open the gates is also a pain. Female changing rooms have lockers but not male ones so you have to get out of the changing room in order to leave and pick up your stuffs so you cannot get changed in front of your locker.

I do not like the booking feature as it is a hassle and when i booked my first induction it was cancelled and was only told when i arrived. The staff were very nice though and had clean and spacious facilities

Love Better Kentish Town! Staff always so helpful. Pools are great and it is all so affordable. Have so many different memberships to suit everyone. Booking is quick and easy via the app and any issues you may encounter are very quickly dealt with via email or phone call. Love it!

Good facilities and helpful staff
Staff at the gym are always very helpful and friendly and respond to requests. Sometimes the studio would benefit from better cleaning but generally I am very happy with swimming pools, classes and gym.

All the staff have been very helpful and friendly. Joachim, the instructor was clearly very knowledgeable, kind and gave tailored instruction. The gym seems clean and well equiped and not at all intimidating.

increase the temperature of the shower water for swimmers, I know it is for the purpose of saving water, so we need to press the button every time in order to have the water coming out but can you extend the time to, like one minute

Kentish town sports centre
The corporate membership at this facility went up back in June from 36£ to 52£, and now 54.25£ (I'm a nurse). The regular membership is 65£. It doesn't offer a membership excluding the the pools to make it more affordable. Not sure how can anyone afford this gym or how was it allowed such a rise in their fees. I've been a member in the past and I wanted to join again, but it's become a luxury gym

My friend told me to join this gym it’s…
My friend told me to join this gym it’s really good but when I went there I paid around £85 for everything but when I go to try it I really really disappointed because all the machines are toll there no enough machines for body and all the time I have to book my swimming lessons, one of the swimming pool I can use it before 12am and another one I booked I go inside to swim I don’t know how to swim properly and I can swim and the staff come and said that if your not able to swim for full length then your not allowed to swim here he said leave the pool I left so now you tell me how has more priority me or children I paid £85 and I’m not allowed to swim where I can learn if I don’t swim that would be great if you give me my refund

Old equipment and too many cardio machines
The equipment is quite old and there aren’t enough weight machines. Too many cardio machines and all the weight stuff is compact in a small space. It’s difficult to workout when it’s busy and for the price, would expect more. I can go and pay £25 a month for a gym with more and updated equipment instead of £56

Love Kentish town leisure centre
I love going to Kentish town leisure centre. The workers are really friendly and helpful and you always always greeted with a smile when you enter their gym. I used to feel uncomfortable going to the gym, but i feel comfortable coming here; and have built a friendship with some of the gym goers. A bit gutted i won't be here from September, because of university, but i will definitely be attending next summer onwards.

Good facilities aimed at serious swimmers. Sadly cleanliness of the pool is not up to standard. There is a strong smell and green moss all around the pool. At times there are large green patches at the bottom of the pool.
The worst part is in the female changing rooms. I have had to deal with an awkward and abusive fellow swimmer. After bringing it to the attention of staff and the management, the woman is simply welcome to continue her behaviour. She is apparently known to the staff and once worked there, which may be why they are reluctant to deal with her as appropriate.
Another problem in the female changing rooms is the presence of boys. They allow boys as old as 8 in the female changing rooms. However, even this is not monitored and much older boys use the female changing rooms. They then go on to stare at women changing as well as adopt other awkward behaviours. This really moves along the lines of sexual harassment. According to their policy, an 8-year-old girl could be changing next to a 15-year-old boy in the male changing rooms. Does this even meet safeguarding standards...?
Staff are completely indifferent and advise that we inform them while this is happening (we are presumably advised to come out into the reception area in our towels so we can do this?) or to use the small dark cubicles to change. This is all while they have a family changing area as well as a group changing area, so there is no need for males to be in the female changing rooms at all.
UPDATE 16/10/2023: Please, note that there has been a further deterioration with regards to this. While I was still in the shower a male member of staff came into the female changing rooms "to clean". Apart from the fact that I'd been given the wrong information with regards to opening times, this male member of staff was in the female changing room while they were still supposed to be open to be used by women in their entirety (he was in the toilet area).
With regards to the answer below: "As a public leisure provider we are committed to making leisure and sports facilities accessible to all. We continue to work with our wide and diverse customer base to ensure that all those who wish to use our facilities feel comfortable and welcome. This is why the accessible changing room was made as an option for you to use when your children attend swimming lessons. It has been offered to many other parents who have been receptive towards this option as a reasonable adjustment to make the facilities accessible to all those who attend."
I don't have children, so I don't know what you are talking about. You apparently receive a large number of complaints about this. And your ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and welcome to use the facilities obviously doesn't apply to women, as evidenced by your answer.
UPDATE 30/01/2024: Things in the female changing rooms are simply going from bad to worse. In spite of reducing my visits to this swimming pool as much as possible, the last time I was there a member of staff came in and told us that she wants to bring in a male to "change the light bulb in the toilets". This was while the swimming pool was open and the facilities full of females changing. After waiting for me to get dressed and telling me that I am the only one that minds the man coming into the female changing rooms, the woman eventually brought the man in the shower area (not the toilets) which is in full view of the changing area where a swimmer was only in her bra...
It was an unreal experience to witness this, including the lying. In spite of the PR exercise in their responses here, they are deeply unprofessional with 0% respect for customers and women more particularly. Please, note that the same manager was on duty as the previous instance I mention above. And this really is a disciplinary issue.
All staff involved in this latest incident were Spanish speakers, which should help identify them. I hope that someone from the local council reads this and that the management of this pool will be removed from GLL, which I believe is already happening at other swimming pools.
