Recovery in the gym
I was given great start and introduction to the gym. With a great focus on how I could move my recovery forward in a realistic and positive way. After five months on crutches it is great to be given such positive support.

Membership and pricing is complicated…
Membership and pricing is complicated and pricy nothing much to offer for the over 60s booking would be a pain..I found joining the life centre in Plymouth much more affordable and easier to navigate memberships, sessions and bookings all i have to do is travel to plymouth to get anything more worthwhile than whan cornwall or better.org has to offer

Useful to see other local centres for different classes EG Pilates, Functional Fitness and Yoga. Great for core strength and overall flexibility. Enjoying getting fitter with my membership! Well presented and well equipped gym
Well presented and well equipped gym, small but has everything you need. Staff are helpful and it’s a friendly environment. Great price too! Price includes classes and swim sessions. App is informative and easy to use, booking system is far superior to any other gym I have used. Nice and fairly priced cafe on premises too.

Unable to book
It has been difficult to use the App, alot of the booking slots don't appear through the app.
Also my daughter has done an induction but when we've been on since to book another slot at the gym she hasn't been able to because it is telling her she still has to do an induction, even though her account says the induction was attended.

I’m unsure why you need to book the gym…
I’m unsure why you need to book the gym as when you go in there it’s not packed or busy and only about 5-6 people in there. Same goes for swimming for all during the week as only 3-4 people there sometimes.

Good friendly leisure centre.
Very friendly and helpful staff made joining the leisure centre very straightforward and easy. Gym very well equipped.
Men’s changing rooms have seen better days, could do with redecorating and a few minor repairs to walls.
Water pressure in sinks way too high wasting lots of water.
These are only mentioned as an honest feedback, it doesn’t take away from the fact I am really happy with the overall experience.

I tryed to transfer my membership to my new location as I had moved and was told I couldn't do that
Then I tryed to cancel to be a member at the one I live by now only to be told I still have to pay next month's fees in my old gym as well as the fees for the new gym

We are able to change your home club however, you do need to provide us with one calendar months notice so we have time to action the change.
When cancelling you also need to provide us with a minimum of 20 days notice before your next Direct Debit is due when cancelling via the app and one months notice if you request us to cancel for you.
We are sorry that you feel due to this you would like to leave.

One star because your central…
One star because your central membership management systems are appallingly bad. In the quest to cut costs and distance itself from the customer this organisation has lost the plot. My son turned 16yrs old this month so we upgraded his membership so that he could use all the facilities. The membership was upgraded and the new tariff charged but centre asked us to prove that he is still in full time education with a written document. For what ever reason we were too slow to bring his college offer in as proof and yesterday the membership was ‘suspended’. Fair play I brought the proof into the gym to verify his status only to find that I would have to scan it and send it to HQ via the app. Fair play again I guess but then I was told that he would have to re-join. Re-join? …but the DD went off for August? I phoned the ‘helpline’ only to find that ’suspended’ means cancelled. Furthermore we would need to cancel the DD, re-join, take out a new DD for my son, pay a joining fee and make an ‘application’ for a refund for my pre-payment for August.
In summary; the misnomer ‘suspended’ means cancelled and can not reinstated, proof is need for a 16yr old to take out a junior membership [UK law makes full time education compulsory up to 18yrs old]. I like the health club well enough but Better takes the money but doesn’t take the time to offer solutions to the problems it’s system cause.
