The center is okay and staff are welcoming, but lessons are often overcrowded — up to 13 kids with just one teacher. Children of different levels are grouped together, even though there is a separate area for beginners. This means little individual attention.
Also, the changing rooms smell strongly of urine; hygiene here really needs improving.

The lift has been out of service since…
The lift has been out of service since September, it had only been working one month since its previous breakdown which lasted six weeks meaning the gym which I rely on to maintain my mobility is inaccessible to myself and the many other wheelchair users who previously were regular users of the gym

I am currently going to the gym and…
I am currently going to the gym and attending some of the health wise programme foe my lower back pain. All members of staff atvthe Star Centre are friendly helpful and welcoming. Bev has been really supportive at the health wise sessions and has been a bridge for me to become comfortable going to the gym alone something I've never enjoyed. I'm now going regularly for 45 minute sessions. Thankyou

A friendly local leisure centre
Staff were friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions about the classes which were available and what they entailed. Neither the gym nor the pool were too crowded and there was a good atmosphere throughout the centre.

Amazing ALN swimming experience
I currently use Star Hub for the one to one swimming lessons for my son with ALN. The experience has been truly a joy to bring him to and it's all thanks to some really wonderful staff. Alex in particular has gone above and beyond to ensure my sons lessons are regular and progressive.She has helped my son gain confidence with swimming through her lessons. I'm very lucky he has spent the last few weeks with Conan who has a very calming method of teaching vital for children with ALN. My son has loved every lesson with Conans one to one and his swimming is improving so much. I'm blessed that this is my local pool with really a tremendous staff across the board. There's always a smile behind the desk and a warm welcome from them all.
