Clueless 'therapists'; absolute money grab
I am only just now, after being to a genuine psychologist, able to put into words how horrible my experience with better help was.
I was going through an awful time and wasn't able to get into see my usual psychologist and tried to use what I thought could be a useful tool in the interim.
What this app turned out to be was a complete waste of time and money- this app preys on vulnerable people. I was paired with someone who had no idea what they were talking about- THREE times. Each one worse than the last. The whole time I used the app I messaged someone twice to organise a time, and actually spoke to each different person once- all of whom sounded like they were about 16 years old and were really nervous.

You can't email to cancel
They will keep charging if you are not using it. I never spoke with someone. Don't try canceling via email that does not work. # weeks of 80.00 for nothing is what they got!!!!!!!!!"Hi there,
Thanks for your patience, and please know that our priority is addressing this for you as quickly as we can. Because this email address doesn't appear to be linked to any active membership, we've forwarded this request to our billing team who will need to gather some basic details about your credit card/payment method, in order to locate the account and process this request for you.
NOTE: You can quickly cancel your membership renewals on your own by logging in to your account, clicking into your Account Settings or Payment Settings pages, and then finding the "Change Membership / Cancel Membership" option.
To avoid providing these payment method details, you can send us a separate email from the email address you use to login to the account in question with your request. We require contact from the exact email an account is associated with, as our system won't recognize any variations as the same account [i.e. use of periods, underscores, or "+" symbols in the address; use of @googlemail vs. @gmail, @me vs. @icloud, etc.]"

I tried BetterHelp for couples therapy…
I tried BetterHelp for couples therapy with my partner, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing.
In our first match, we were assigned to a therapist (Jason Brooker) who communicated in a way that felt extremely aggressive. During what was meant to be an initial assessment, I was repeatedly interrupted and felt spoken down to. Some of the comments made felt unnecessarily harsh given how little context had been established and i felt like an object being analysed rather than a human being. I left the session feeling a lot worse and quite dehumanised, as though I were being evaluated rather than understood. It was counterproductive and frankly unprofessional!
On another occasion, we were matched with a different therapist who was the complete opposite, she was extremely passive and largely silent throughout the session. It genuinely felt as though we had paid £90 to speak into a screen without any meaningful facilitation or guidance. Again, the session did not move us forward in any way.
Based on these experiences, I would not recommend BetterHelp for couples therapy. The inconsistency in therapist quality was concerning, and for the cost involved, I expected a more professional and balanced standard of care. Personally, I would suggest seeking an independent, qualified psychologists and people who actually have decent qualifications so you can properly review credentials and approach beforehand.

Sorry
Sorry, but the very first words of the advert were “I may get cancelled for saying this….”
I cannot take ANY business seriously when they stay off saying something so incredibly ignorant a stupid, and especially a website that is allegedly designed to provide therapy.
“Hey, let’s start off with a little unfounded paranoia and then tell people how we can help them with their issues.”
Stupid as hell.

BetterHelp is extremely easy to use
BetterHelp is extremely easy to use, and I feel like their assessments they use to match you to the right counselor works really well. They matched me with a great counselor in the first try, and I have been making personal progress with her for the last 6 months. I love the convenience of the virtual sessions as a mom with a full time job.

BetterHelp matched me with a fantastic therapist, and it has greatly helped me.
Convenient care options, annoying payment schedules
BetterHelp offers convenient methods to pursue therapy through their online platform. You can easily connect with qualified professionals through their messaging, call or video features. I would recommend this service to anyone who wants to meet regularly with a qualified mental health professional. I have used this service for about a year and am happy with the quality of communication, connection and care I have received.
My only complaint is with their billing schedule. I liked that I could pay for the service using my HSA account, but I had to switch to another payment method because of the timing didn’t align consistently with my employer’s pay schedule and, as a result my HSA deposits. BetterHelp bills for their services every 4 weeks rather than once a month on a specific day. This meant that the payment was taken out of my account twice a month a few times and was difficult to plan for appropriately.
Matched me with a great therapist!
Better Help matched me with a wonderful therapist quickly and easily. Having the option of phone, chat, and video is so convenient. This has been a great experience so far. Thank you!
Better help is it!
Better Help is such a great tool to find a therapist that works for you and your pace! If your looking for a great therapist and one that works for you, it’s BetterHelp!!!
Double-charged even after I cancelled…
Double-charged even after I cancelled my membership.
I woke up to a charge of £220 for a service I know I cancelled over 3 weeks ago. I was in therapy and I loved it, however I no longer need it and I am vcery CERTAIN I cancelled the subscription. Unforutnately BetterHelp still charged me. I am hoping their customer service can resolve this however if I do not get a resoluton, I will be requesting a charge back from my bank. Such a shame that this is a practice to squeeze out their customers who are often vulnerable.

BetterHelp provides great therapy for…
BetterHelp provides great therapy for those willing to put the effort in. Finding the right therapist can take time, but I lucked out with the first one I chose. The app provides filters for experience the counselors have so it helps you find someone that can help with whatever you're dealing with. Availability varies from person to person, so I highly recommend scheduling multiple sessions at once. The price is also tough to beat compared to other providers. There are also classes available at no extra cost which can help when in between appointments.
Overall a great experience
I was originally matched with a therapist that did not do chat sessions even though she was listed as such. However, I was able to easily switch to another therapist and she has been great.
Definitely a great value if you take advantage of group sessions and classes as well. There is a lot of good therapists with good information on those.
A great option
There are many options to use like writing OR talking and I appreciate the availability for both!
I love my therapist
I love my therapist! She is a great fit for me!
Highly recommend
So far it’s working out great for me, I was paired with a great therapist, tailored to exactly what I asked for and she and I clicked immediately! I’m someone who would like therapy from home so this fits well into my schedule and makes it easy and less stressful for me! Highly recommend, and was recommended to me by a friend.
This company is on the up and up
This company is on the up and up. I had been looking for a face to face therapist for about 2 years. I couldn't find one that had the background I needed or that I could afford. After my first session with my therapist, I was hooked! Mark is wonderful!! He is exactly what I was looking for in a therapist and I am glad that I used Betterhelp.com!
Shittiest site
Worst site, i’m looking for help, for a therapist, answering a lot of questions just to bring me to a payment site. Only money matters

My therapist Holly is amazing
My therapist Holly is amazing. She's non- judgemental no matter what you tell her. She is sweet and understanding. And makes sessions fun and assignments right on point that actually help you! She really cares. Couldn't be more happy with my therapist.
Excellent care
Excellent care. Excellent listeners. Help with my anxiety and planning for how to handle stress as an educator.
avoid betterhelp
I had three therapist on betterhelp, one was a Zionist from the USA who kept taking about her politics, she said my abuse in childhood might have been "my karma" from a past life, that's when I switched to a different therapist. The next therapist was from the UK England and she was unaware if Ireland or England were separate countries, she kept asking if I have the NHS in Ireland. She made lots of weird statements about her views on sex and was very xenophobic. I changed to a different therapist who just wanted to do guided meditation she would play a recording of someone talking as she sat there reading, she did that four times. After all that nonsense I just cancelled my membership. I did try to give it a fair chance, even changed therapists, not even sure now if they were qualified they were all so strange and lacked empathy.
