Bought a chair today from the Weston super Mare BHF store. The staff were really friendly and helpful, carrying the chair to my car and helping me put it in the car, saving me a delivery charge. The chair was a fantastic price too. Great experience.

Shop manager at Warrington's Cockhedge Centre BHF is extremely rude and arrogant and is devoid of any people skills.
That said from what I can see there of late is they are gearing themselves becoming a high street store and kind of losing the point of being a charity shop serving/supporting their local community.
It's a shame really as up until a few months ago this was a good place but has inevitably succumbed to a For Profit Organisation and has completely lost it's way.

I am looking for removal services and I am absolutely shocked what I reading here, unbelievable the the employees or volunteers from the BHF behaving in such unpleasant way. That I don't want to call them at all when reading those reviews, indeed very disappointing that I will look out for a different service.
The website was very easy. I'm surprised that they didn't request pictures of the items as this would save A LOT OF TIME! I listed quite a few good condition furniture items & a good working fridge freezer. I was soon told they would collect. They arrived early. All good so far. Then they started scrutinizing every item. They then said that they couldn't take anything! I couldn't really understand the man as he had a foreign accent & didn't speak clearly. I feel like I've wasted a few days because I cleaned absolutely everything & moved a lot of the furniture up to one room, plus getting bags and boxes of small items which they said they would take on the website & was agreed on the email! Now I've got a load of furniture in the way & have to remove them another way.

I honestly wish I read the reviews before wasting my time contacting these people. If you’re a charity people are donating their items to help you not the other way round. It seems they want brand-new items instead of use ones the Driver they sent no manners no respect considering you’re entering my home never ever again ever.

Arranged to donate a 3 seater settee and love chair. I have donated before with no issues.
Didnt tell me pick up slot till 30 mins before..
2 young lads arrived. And looked for reasons not to take the furniture. The fire label had slightly been torn so couldn't take that and the settee jad a small tear in the material on frame. Which nobody sees.
Complete waste of my day.
Won't be donating to them again. They want items that are perfect .

I decided to donate a 2 seater and a 3 seater leather sofa to BHF. The collection drivers attended and refused to take them as one seat that I'd just stood up off looked seated and because of the colour. They are brown distressed leather they are supposed to look like that.
Who knew that charity's were so choosy!
One of the guys said I bet they are heavy which is probably more of the problem! Complete waste of my time so I'm now stuck with 2 sofa's with a new one due tomorrow!
When you see some of the other stock that they have which looks terrible when compared to mine I'm very surprised.
Suffice to say I'll never donate to them again in any form.

Extremely disappointed with the Kingston branch. The collection operatives arrived with a surly attitude and immediately began removing furniture from my home without any explanation of the procedure or identifying the items first. When the second operative arrived, he aggressively pressured me to identify items his colleague had already loaded into the van.
Despite repeatedly explaining that I am profoundly hard of hearing, he made no allowance for my disability, becoming increasingly hostile. He eventually cancelled the collection, moved the items back into my house, and shouted a baseless accusation and an expletive at me as he drove off. The manager of the Kingston store refused to hear my side, choosing to believe a fabricated narrative instead. A truly upsetting encounter.. I think a visit from ballifs would have been a more pleasurable experience. I have since donated elsewhere.

After booking a collection of 2x3 seater setees, weeks in advance, the driver arrived, took photos then declined collection. The settees were in a very saleable condition with fire labels. Had I known this was a possibility, I would not have used this "service".

Arranged for donation of lots of goods from my house as we were moving from Plymouth BHF store. Chap who came out to assess the goods was friendly and efficient, said they wanted everything but maybe not the sofa which I said was fine. However on the day of they took nothing and it became apparent that the collection crew were contractors who owned a private clearance business - they told us they didn’t want any of it, giving us their business card and telling us if we wanted the items removed they’d come and do it for a fee. Absolute scam for ourselves and BHF. They need to vet the people they’re contracting this work out to as there is obviously a vested interest for them to not take anything for BHF. I managed to do some last minute donations to St Luke’s who were fantastic. Sadly I didn’t have time to donate it all elsewhere so the majority had to go to the tip. The BHF staff were good but collection service was very disappointing. Would not use again.

I think everyone who has been let down for a collection by BHF should consider themselves lucky. They did send a van to collect a bulky item from our house but even though I had warned BHF TWICE before collection and also told their collector on the day that the removal was a 2-person job, he went ahead singlehandedly and then promptly dropped it on our door causing over £200 of damage. At first when I contacted them, the shop denied collection was by them, but after a couple of emails admitted it was them but said they refer me to the removal company, which never happened. In the first three email exchanges, they didn't even properly apologise or offer their insurance company details for claiming compensation. I know they call themselves a charity but as an organisation, their attitude was uncaring and flippant.
I phoned them for a collection of a bed settee they said I had to book online so that's fine I did that and gave 2 dates they didn't turn up I phoned again and they said it didn't register so had to book again which was for today Xmas eve they eventually turned up and because the mattress had a couple of small marks on the sides from being folded up they refused to take it what a joke I am donated a very good bed settee which in all honesty someone would probably want to replace the mattress anyway I will not be donating anything else to them they clearly only want brand new things

I have supported BHF for many years, mainly in support of my beloved Dad who was a huge supporter prior to his passing. However, my personal experience when donating items (to the Old Swan, Liverpool store) has been met by 'inconvenienced & fed-up' volunteers who really don't want to accept donations. I find this disheartening which is why I'll be taking my future donations elsewhere.

Paid for settee arrived 8am 2 delivery men when approaching van they were acting shifty whispering. I suspected something wrong. There was no sheets used in van to protect settee and one put the back of settee on the tarmac. A screw had come out also. Said return to shop for refund, staff not very friendly and lost £30 delivery fee.

They were quite rude while collecting and no respect.
He was like show me items.. I don't have time and if you want to complain you can. May be you should have people with kindness working for charity or layout on your website that everything should be put outside of the house. Driver doesn't respect what we doing.. We don't want someone like that in the house

I would not consider donating anything to BHF again after they gave me a furniture collection date which they did not honour. I shifted a large, heavy, near perfect sofa outside to make collection as easy as possible for the drivers and waited in all day. Despite 2 phone calls and an email, nobody bothered to contact me and nobody turned up. I'll be giving it to someone else who wants it and won't waste my time offering anything to BHF today. Very frustrating experience and extremely discourteous of BHF to treat people like this.

I would like to issue a formal complain for my experience in donating a double mattress. Please note, they require pictures before you request a collection, and it was accepted.
Firstly, there was no number for the driver on the tracking email
I texted the only number shown to advise on the parking and where the entrance was.
I then tried to call, but it was the shop number and it was closed!
The driver finally called me and spoke in a very rude and aggressive manner, stating that he could not find the door number, repeatedly saying that “66 is Taco Bell.”
I calmly explained that the address is 66A ** Road and that the entrance is located at the back of the building.
Despite this clarification, the driver became dismissive and stated that I could not “change the address at the last minute,” which was both incorrect and unnecessary, as the address is officially correct.
Secondly, when the drivers eventually arrived, they refused to accept the mattress, claiming it was “not straight” and therefore not suitable. I would like to make it very clear that my husband was holding the mattress by himself in the hall, after he had carried it from the third floor, without any assistance, prior to their arrival.
The drivers then pointed out a supposed “stain” on the side of the mattress, which was clearly caused during the process of bringing it downstairs.
The mattress is fully functional, clean, and in good condition.
I find this absolutely shocking for a charity organisation.
At a time when there are people sleeping on the streets, refusing a usable mattress over a minor mark and the way it was being held is both disappointing and unacceptable.
The conduct of your drivers and the lack of compassion shown reflect extremely poorly on your organisation, and I expect this complaint to be taken seriously.
Rubbish collection and communication. Don’t waste your tine with them.

Drivers who come to collect my donations. We’re Eastern European. And very. Rude Bad mannered.and insulting. And took. I glass table which. Cost a fortune. And than moaned about a tiny bit of dust. They would not take. My white dining table and six chairs as it had a tiny bit of dirt on it. The attitude. Was really. Vile. and bad. Never have I been treated that way. By anyone. Made a compliant to BHF. SADLY I CAN NEVER OFFER THEM A DONATION AGAIN. UNTIL. THEY. PUT THINGS RIGHT. Never should people like this be allowed in any one’s home. I’m glad. I left it in the summer house.
