Terrible Customer Service

I've used Big Art and Banners for years and the Customer Service has always been fairly good.

Sadly L**** (from Customer Service) can be exceptionally difficult to deal with. My order was placed on hold for 2 days. Instead of owning up to the error I was constantly told it was my fault.

Big Art and Banners needed confirmation on the type of vinyl I required, I gave the confirmation immediately, the payment increased as a result, so I paid that immediately. When I enquired as to when my order was to be dispatched I was sent a proof, I confirmed the proof immediately. I emailed again asking for confirmation on a delivery date and was told unless I paid for priority delivery the order would come 2 days late.

I questioned this and it transpired the order had been put on hold and the reason cited was because they were waiting for me to confirm the proof, however everything had been confirmed immediately from my end. Had I never emailed about the delivery date I think my order might've stayed on hold indefinitely.

It's frustrating. I'm a non-profit and the signage was for a small artists launch.

I don't have the extra funds to pay for Big Art and Banners mistake but even if I did, the way it was dealt with has meant that sadly I won't return to make any future orders. I've sent many contacts to Big Art and Banners in the past but going forward I will stick with a different company.

I've seen many reviews here confirming similar issues. I have no doubt the response will be another attempt to blame (me) the customer. I wish I could share the emails here. It's been extremely unprofessional.

To make matters worse when I finally agreed to pay for the delivery the order was dispatched to the wrong address.

Edit: A***** had asked if I would take down my review in exchange for a postage refund, which I intended to do today. After reading this response I feel I shouldn’t remove my review.

The reply to my review doesn’t reflect what happened accurately. I ordered a contour cut item originally so was aware of the turnaround time. I believe a genuine mistake occurred which meant my order was placed on hold accidentally, frustratingly instead of apologising for the delay I got stuck in a back and forth email chain where I was told conflicting things consistently and now the situation has escalated to a misinterpretation of what actually happened. I've removed the names of Staff as Big Art and Banners has said it can harm their reputation and that isn't my intention. My intention is simply to warn other people to be careful when ordering. Order with plenty of time and try not to make any minor changes (even if it's within 10 mins of placing the order)

Thank you for your feedback, I am so very sorry you have been unhappy with the service we provided.

I can see your order was placed on hold as what you had ordered would not have been suitable once printed (clear vinyl with a semi transparent print and a very light shade of pink text). It was placed on hold as we advised you to change the order for a better result, which you wanted. When the payment cleared the following day you were advised the order was changed and was being set up as it was a contour cut item and required a cut path, we advised we will confirm when the order is ready to go to production.

I can appreciate your frustration with the delays that are not your fault however they are due to awaiting payment and artwork to be set up which are unavoidable. When the order was ready to go into production you then advised of the urgency in which we offered a faster production time to you. Contour cut items are a 3 day turnaround or 2 if the order is a priority, given the circumstances we put you on a 2 day turnaround at no extra cost. As you then wanted a faster same day dispatch we offered to do this if a priority fee was paid which is more than fair given that the actual priority turnaround should be 2 days and not 1.

There was a system error where your delivery address reverted back but I can see we rectified this issue within 10 minutes of being aware so the item was dispatched to the correct address.

We are sorry that you are not happy with the service provided, however we did our best to advise you appropriately and also work to get the order to you as fast as possible.

Great customer service from Amy - resolved an issue within minutes and organised a reprint of the banners I had ordered. Would recommend for use again :)

Customer Service is pretty poor

Customer Service is pretty poor. Laura was pleasant over the phone but despite continuous errors from the shipping team it took me 5 months to receive a refund on an item that never arrived. They refuse to accept responsibility for delayed parcels, even though they are in a business that is all about marketing materials and therefore time sensitive. We have a 24hr concierge so it was definitely not on us that the delivery didn't happen. They then resent it later after I had requested a refund and they sent a comically large cheque for £5. So I'm guessing the bingo hall also didn't get their order! After all this we asked for a goodwill gesture on our next order and they suggested that "we put the refund towards the cost". As if the refund was a gift and not our legal entitlement. 1/5 for customer service but most of the prints we receive are ok and they are cheaper than London based firms so unfortunately they have a the market to themselves.

Thank you for your feedback on your order, and sorry you were left unhappy. After our initial investigation we saw there were multiple failed deliveries as no one was home, which resulted in Fedex returning your package to us. We then reshipped the package free of charge, which was successfully delivered and you stored this for a few weeks before opening. We are very sorry that the item you received was another customer's order, it seems FedEx mixed these up during our daily collection. Had we known about this in time, we could have resolved straight away, but as your event date had passed by the time you had a chance to open we happily refunded this for you.

Regarding the discount on your new order, as it was at our £30 minimum order value we could not discount this further as we wouldn't be covering our cost, this would be the same situation for any enquiry of this amount.

We do feel that we have done our best to get everything rectified for you where possible, but if we can help with anything else, please just get in touch.

Great product and service!

Great product and service from Big Art & Banners. I needed a double sided vinyl banner made for my market stall and they did it perfectly and shipped it so quickly. Very pleased. Cannot recommend them enough!

The Only Banner company you'll ever need!

We have worked with Big Art and Banners for a long time and have been so pleased with their excellent service and dedicated team. They are pros at what they do, really helpful if you need help with artwork or with the design layout and they are our banner supplier of choice. £120 for delivery

An ignorant lady from the customer center has delayed our delivery, was supposed to arrive on Friday but they were horrible on production hence delayed to the week afterwards, we urgently needed the banners on Saturday hence we asked whether it’s possible to fix their own mistakes, the lady then attempted to charge us £120 for delivery which we negotiated to £60. They have then put down a faulty address which caused delayed delivery and we have failed to receive our banners on Friday at the end.

As a result, we were not able to open on Saturday and Sunday, resulting in a total loss of £3407.81.

They should feel ashamed to be called Big Art, seriously horrible.

I have taken a look into this and I can see that there was an initial delay with your order that was caused by an incomplete shipping address, which meant we were unable to dispatch your order. Then, at your request, the specification of your order was altered to which our team did their utmost to accommodate, and a fee was agreed for an upgraded courier service in an attempt to counteract the incurred delays. However, the courier let us down on this occasion which is unfortunately beyond our control. Then, as a gesture of goodwill your order was then reprinted at our cost and is now with you, to which you have acknowledged receipt of.

I trust this resolves your issue. We pride ourselves on providing the highest customer service in the industry, and we regret that you felt that this negative review was necessary despite our best efforts to resolve issues that were not caused as a result of our service.

Have ordered a few times and one of our…

Have ordered a few times and one of our orders got missed. However, they were brilliant and sorted everything I needed in time for our show. Can't fault their customer service and the products are good quality. Would definitely recommend.

Arrived band / damaged due to poor…

Arrived band / damaged due to poor packaging. Logo was clear and looked good but the black background has lines running down it where the ink was either running out or needed a print head clean cycle. Doesn’t look professional and won’t be going up, so waste of money.

An excellent example of HOW NOT to do Customer Service

I Placed an order on 28/12/22, They confirmed a PART Refund was due of £10+vat on 04/01/23

After hearing nothing, I contacted them again on 12/02/23

The response was:

Hi,

I have chased this with our accounts department and will send over your credit memo once this has been processed.

Kind regards,

Today is 23/02/23 - and I've heard NOTHING.

I get the feeling they are only really interested in bigger companies. FIRST AND LAST Order with these guys - Avoid if you can.

Update: After submitting (what I thought was a public review) this refund has now been processed on 24/02/23.

Quick to respond and super helpful (thank you Laura!)

I had a lovely person named Laura help me with my enquiry and order placement via email on Monday (07/11/22). Laura was so helpful and quick to respond and I couldn’t be happier with the finished product, which arrived today (10/11/22). It is a custom size poster for personal use in my room, the quality is amazing and it looks fantastic. If I ever wanted something like this again I would absolutely use big art and banners again. Thanks so much!

How to lose a good customer for just £10...

I've spent in well excess of £1,000 on various jobs with Bigartandbanners over the last couple of months. I've been generally happy up until today when I paid for a new order and they insisted on charging me an extra £10 to do the slightest alteration on some duplicate artwork from a previous job. I explained to Laura that because of this, it would be the last order I would be placing with them. Her response was pretty much, 'I couldn't care less'.

It's not a problem as there are plenty of other companies out there providing the same products.

As a business owner myself, I would have swallowed the £10 to retain a customer.

UPDATE 16/06/2020. I received a call from Andrew the Sales Director who refunded the £10 promptly and apologised. He accepted that it could have been handled better. As I have been happy with their products and service previously, I will now continue to use them.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service, super quick delivery and very high quality poster printing (even for the cheapest option).
I had to use WeTransfer to send my files and there was absolutely no issue, everything arrived exactly as expected.

Very disappointed with the service…

Very disappointed with the service received, we ordered a product from you and requested "Opaque" and we have not received what was ordered, we have spent time going back to your company to resolve the issue, this alone has taken a while for someone to come back to us, we have also not been satisfied with your help or response, we do not rate your company, we will not recommend your company to any of our customers and will never use you again!

I have taken a look into this and can see that you placed an order on our website for some Opaque White Vinyl from our Window Graphics Printing range. The definition of opaque is 'not transparent or translucent' so we describe this product on our website as an 'opaque vinyl for a print with no transparency. Any clear areas on your artwork will be white'. This is what we produced and dispatched to you.

I can see from your email communications with our team that you raised an issue regarding the product you received, to which we replied to all emails on the same day.

If customers have any queries about our product options, we always strongly advise getting in touch prior to ordering so that we can advise accordingly based on your needs. Otherwise, we can only produce what has been ordered.

Quick, and very helpful

We needed a dozen PowerPoint charts made into A3 boards. What we didn't know was that the charts were not quite in proportion for the A3 shape - company were really helpful in resolving this. Good prices too, and reliable delivery
