It was a great experience! The moment I came to the event I was greeted by Azeez who honestly made my day from the start, provided me all the information and made sure I was really welcomed to the event. Gave me some valuable insight all before the day even started. The event was very informative I consolidated my knowledge on how to scale my social media which was great! I missed the last part of the day but I’m sure it was filled with gems!

I attended the free workshop day and a few days later still can not believe the experience. For context, I went to this workshop with solid social media understanding, I work with companies who have millions of followers and great engagement - also meaning, I know the struggle of how this isn’t easy to achieve. I was curious about this since the ad I saw on my instagram promoting the event suggested there was a quick and easy way to success with social media and so wanted to see what is being told to those outside the SM industry.
The event is engaging but manipulative. There is a lot of participation required, raising your hand every 3 minutes or shouting yes, racing to a specific table at the back of the room to collect freebies. Basic sales psychology encourages you to get the person you are pitching to, to repeatedly agree with you. The small but consistent agreements encourage the brain to build up to bigger and bigger agreements, in this case, spending £2,000 with them to receive the ‘cheat codes’ to SM which was being sold on that ‘freebie table’.
Throughout the event, they asked people about their business, a lot were successful. More were starting out with little to no outside income. When they asked peoples concerns they over egged negativity to make the whole room feel in desperate need. The vunerabiltity in the room was huge.
Another point they frequently made was that everyone was in that room because we had seen their ad and therefor it works. Whilst this is a true, it wasn’t because of the cheat codes to SM that they held. BBE has 9,660 followers and averages roughly 20 likes per post—an engagement rate of about 0.21%, which is very low (when you look at post that are not linked with another account). They also shared that they spend around £250,000 per month on Instagram ads. That level of ad spend is what fills rooms, not exceptional organic social media performance.
Aside from all this, I didn’t learn anything you couldn’t have found on YouTube. From what I understand, each event is encouraging you to buy into the next programme which costs even more to then get a better course and it just keeps on going. Manipulate - buy - don’t learn anything but manipulated to buy again, etc.
If you do not know anything about social media, this day might be good. It will teach the fundamentals and in person which is always better than online. But go knowing the sales tactics, go knowing that there isn’t a cheat code and that this company isn’t going to give you one. Go being strict with yourself that you won’t run around the room and get caught up in games that result in a £2,000 charge.
Aside from all of this, the speakers were rude to the staff and ignored questions that were too difficult to answer. This was a wild event to watch and also a great lesson in manipulation and how to make a quick buck if you lack ethics.

I've just attended the Milton Keynes Social Media Monetisation event. I paid for the VIP upgrade which meant getting seated sooner, a meal at lunchtime and a Q&A session. I think the extras were good value for the investment.
There were some really useful tips and tools for helping with your social media. However, people should expect to be sold to at an event like this. The majority of the people in the room were there for free, and about a third of us paid a minimal amount for VIP. If you can't bear to be sold to, you probably shouldn't attend.

Strong content, a lot of ideas that could be applied in practice, and good networking opportunities.
However, the delivery felt overly Americanised, filled with too much waffle, and heavily focused on hard selling with limited tangible value. The pushy tone and tactics, particularly the expectation to publicly commit to a £3k course felt forced and uncomfortable. The messaging also leans on the idea that success depends on buying into their system.
The VIP experience was underwhelming, with poor food and lack of attention to detail. The day itself was overly compressed, with limited breaks, making it feel rushed and exhausting.
There is also a broader question around ROI. While a high-ticket programme (c. £100k at full value) may deliver results for some, it’s difficult to see how it meaningfully outperforms significantly lower-cost alternatives.
Overall, this approach will suit a certain type of customer, but it’s clear this isn’t the right fit for me.
Good luck to BBE.

I learnt so much about social media marketing. I've previously felt it was not really somthing I could master but, today taught me that with the right investment I can excel at communicating the solutions I offer to my target market. It's definitely time to start!
