DO NOT BUY FROM BOG MOTORING WORLD!
There is not enough words in the dictionary to describe this company, but here are some negligent, underhanded, unresponsive, rude, nightmare…. The list goes on
I brought my car August 31st, after two weeks I went away for three days, at twelve o’clock at night it would not start I was very scared waiting for a cab. Next day RAC came and said the battery was very old and needed replacing and the alternator. RAC was that worried about me driving it home for 1 mile he followed me home !
The next day that’s when the nightmare began…. Customer service ( lack of) are a joke no one knows what they are saying, seems like they make it up as it goes along. No one calls you , you are passed around… nightmare
It got so bad that one night a week later my daughter drove to Enfield to complain in the sales area where the girl on the desk said no manager was available, we demanded it as we walked away she laughed! Manger did come but he said not his department. I then get two calls where they asked me what car was I interested in buying.
I have counted up how many calls I have made in four weeks…. 25 & 6 emails.
I said I want the car to be returned, a date was set 1 September I sat in all day for no one to turn up, they finally came 2nd after 4 more calls & 3 emails, now it’s the waiting game for my money to be returned!!!!!
I am shattered, exhausted and so angry that people can be treated this way, I am thinking of complaining to watch dog and writing to Laurence Vaughan chief executive.
I have lost two days pay, having to get cabs etc
The one thing they are consistent with is the word SORRY Also to open & cancel the insurance has costed me over £70
Stay away
I was asked by the car collection team to drive my car with no road tax to a local post office to tax the car . I explained I was not happy breaking the law ! . I was very shocked an organisation of this size are expecting its customers to break the law ! , it was explained to me , if a police officer pulls you over , just explain & you should be ok !! I declined this arrangement. Eventually I was offered a curtesy car which I then had to drive to the post office to organise road tax . The whole situation I felt was very unpleasant & very unprofessional. I had been advised on buying the car , that this would all be completed by car collection team on my arrival of collecting the car ! It was a very stressful experience by car collection team .
DO NOT BUY THE BIG EXTENDED WARRANTY - COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEYIf you are buying a car from Big Motoring World, DO NOT purchase their BIG Extended Warranty / Big Assure.I bought my car with this warranty thinking I was protected. My air conditioning has NOT worked at all since I bought the car, all through the summer. The passenger window also does not open properly. When I tried to claim, they do everything to avoid covering it. Their app doesn't even work to log a claim (login fault), I was told I would get an email about documents - never received anything. No response, no help. What is the point of paying hundreds of pounds for an extended warranty that covers NOTHING when you actually need it? They sold it to me as peace of mind, but it’s just a money-making scheme. Now I have to go to the Financial Ombudsman and Motor Ombudsman because they won't honour it. Save your money, DO NOT BUY this warranty. Put the money aside for repairs yourself, it will be more useful.
Six months. That is how long my Range Rover Evoque has sat broken on my driveway after Big Motoring World sold it to me along with their extended Big Assist warranty.
The car suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure at just 37,000 miles. Turbo gone, DPF cracked, smoke everywhere, engine revving on its own. I did everything right. Serviced it, took it straight to a Land Rover main dealer, got it properly diagnosed. Land Rover confirmed in writing it was a sudden mechanical failure and not caused by any neglect on my part.
Then the warranty claim got declined as wear and tear. The kicker is their own appointed engineer admitted in his report that he could not physically inspect the turbo at all, yet still blamed wear. So a fault he never actually looked at, overruling a Land Rover main dealer who did. Make that make sense.
Since then I have been passed around, had complaints ignored for months till i instructed a solicitor, been given wrong information about my rights, and left without a car for half a year while still paying for it. The warranty is sold as peace of mind. When something actually goes wrong they do everything they can to wriggle out of paying.
Do your homework before you buy a car or a warranty from this company. I would AVOID at all costs, and join the numerous facebook groups of hundreds of other people experiencing the EXACT same thing! I am now in the process of court action. Horrendous!

We spend 15000 on a new car and from the moment we picked it up we’ve had issue after issue.
When we agreed a date to pick up our new car we asked if it would be valeted as it was quite dirty on the inside we were assured by the sales man and collection it would be as there was plenty of time for this as we were picking up the next day.
The next day we arrived at the allocated time to pick our car up and was told we had to drive 20mins away to get the car taxed as it was a disability car and they could not do this at the garage. No pre warning of this when we bought the car.
So off we went after and another hour round trip we went back to collect our new car.
We go in and it had not been cleaned at all we wiped it with some wipes I had and they came away with black debris we looked over the car and found sweet stcj in the door pockets on the floor and debris all stuck in cup
Holders ect. The collection team were unhelpful and said no where to complain so we just left.
We got our new car home parked it on the drive and when we went to start it it wouldn’t start with no power at all.
RAC was called out and the battery was gone. This cost 280 to replace motoring world said not alot they can do as after sales was closed as bank holiday. The only option they had was pay and claim the money back.
I then also noticed 3 round black stickers in a row on the plastic bottom of the drivers seat when I pulled them off I seen a deep crack in the seat.
We call motoring world Enfield again who we purchased off and we were told just contact the after sales tomorrow as nothing the actual car dealers could do where we bought the car!
I called after sales who said that as it was less than 24hrs the original dealer ship should have sorted all this out.
We had to drive again today to the dealer ship in Enfield the manager was apologetic and has arranged a new plastic cover but now we have done another hour trip and will need to do this again when the part is in at our inconvenience and petrol because of them not making sure the car was in a decent condition.
I now have to wait for the after sales team to decide what they will do about the 280 we had to pay out for a new battery and told this can take up to 5 days the customer service is awful and not priority especially when we have evidence the battery was not fit for purpose.
Would advise others to think twice about purchasing from big motoring world or be very throughwr when you check any car.
I’ve lost 2 days trying to sort out their incompetence at selling a car in decent condition and fit for purpose. I’ve been put in a lot of inconvenience and out of pocket as also had to pay to have my car valeted privately so it’s clean for my kids to be in.

I didn't like how long we had to wait. We booked an appointment but noone was ready. Once someone was allocated he was very good. I noted that staff tended to go and deal with other customers when they were supposed to be helping us, which doesn't sit right with me. Communication about timescales was poor.

Unacceptable Service & Defective Vehicle: Big Motoring World Enfield
I purchased a 2022 MG5 from Big Motoring World Enfield on August 16th. Despite their claims of standard 110-point checks and being an RAC Approved dealer, the vehicle was handed over to me with a completely faulty AC charging system. It is mind-boggling how a multi-point inspection on an Electric Vehicle fails to test whether the car can actually charge via AC.
To make matters worse, I was never provided with a formal State of Health (SoH) report for the battery; I was simply given verbal assurances from the salesperson that it was "completely fine."
As a professional driver who urgently needs this vehicle for my Private Hire (TfL) licensing deadline this coming Thursday, this negligence is actively threatening my livelihood. When I contacted the Enfield branch, their response was completely dismissive and lacked any urgency, acting as if selling a defective EV was not their responsibility. Because of their refusal to take immediate action, I am now forced to coordinate the repair myself at a garage to meet my deadline, incurring unnecessary stress, lost time, and potential financial cost.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a vehicle sold by a dealer must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Selling a faulty EV without proper battery health documentation is unacceptable.
A word of advice to prospective buyers: If you are buying an EV from Big Motoring World, do not accept verbal promises. Demand a full written State of Health (SoH) report and test both AC and DC charging capability yourself before completing the purchase, or you might end up in the same frustrating position.
I urge senior management to step in immediately, take full responsibility for this repair, and address this severe breakdown in service.
UPDATE (02/09/2026):
I received a response to my review today. As requested, I have emailed bigassist with full details of the issue and attached all relevant documents, requesting their urgent assistance to resolve this. I will update this review again once I receive their response.

I bought a VW Up from this branch 2 weeks ago and the near front indicator failed within a week. I noticed a spare bulb was in the glovebox. These bulbs are sold in pairs so I suspected that it was a new bulb inserted by them/RAC when the car was prepared. A new bulb blowing within a week suggests an underlying electrical issue (my last VW had the same indicator bulbs for 20 years). Sure enough, I took the car to Halfords to check the bulb and they found that the socket was broken and they had attempted to glue it to bluff it through the sale. See attached photo. Supergluing a bulb into a broken fitting to force a sale!!
That’s shockingly dishonest and, to make matters worse, they then ignored repeated requests to address the issue on their RAC warranty ap. They just never confirm the booking so it times out. I then telephoned the warranty people and they said sockets and bulbs are not covered.
So I would advise not buying a car from them (unless you want failed parts to be glued together) and, if you do, absolutely DO NOT sign up for an extended warranty. THE WARRANTY IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT IS WRITTEN ON.
Experience was so bad recently I purchased a Tesla 3 and with previous car they had a finance issue with the previous owner and now the car I purchased has a issue in new car body while the time of collection so we left it their they don’t inspect cars properly before selling and their team is useless they literally wasted my whole week and costed me nearly 200 pounds just to come and go back home for 3 times without a car so am really very disappointed with them so please check before trusting them. Their service their staff is totally 0

After spending hours in the showroom whilst staff were seemingly running around not doing much from the sales team, I took the car home and recieved a warning light on the dashboard. After driving back to Enfield (20 mile trip) the technician said he had fixed the issue. Drove home for the issue to reappear on the dashboard.
Staff were as helpful as possible, especially Sel, but ultimately was told to either cancel the contract or bring the car back for a third time to replace the part as the couldn’t transfer the finance to another car.
No good will offer, except giving me a small bit of petrol for my worries.
I may have just been extremely unlucky with the process, but you would think the tyre pressure monitors would have been checked before selling a car.

I had a very positive experience throughout the whole process.
Bersan was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly, answering all of my questions about the car. The optional add-ons were presented well without any pressure to purchase, which made the experience feel comfortable and relaxed. When we returned a few days later to collect my car and for my mum to view another vehicle, he remembered us, checked that everything was going well, and made sure we were looked after.
Louise made the handover process straightforward, carefully checking my details before proceeding and explaining everything clearly.
Overall, all staff were welcoming, happy to answer questions, and provide support, and refreshments were offered during any waiting times.

UPDATE 01/09/2026: Nissan Main Dealer (Glyn Hopkin Ltd, Inv 545033) inspected the car today. Technicians proved the fault was NOT standard brake wear-and-tear, but a mechanical defect in the front shims (hardware kit replaced). This officially proves the car was defective at point of sale, breaching the Consumer Rights Act 2015. They refunded my warranty under pressure, but refuse to cover the £188.00 repair. Escalating this to The Motor Ombudsman today Advice: Check cars at a main dealer immediately after purchase, or take it to a specialized workshop BEFORE buying!
UPDATE – 24 AUGUST 2026, 10:10 AM
Following my previous review, I want to add an important update regarding my experience with Big Motoring World Enfield.
Today, 24 August 2026, after formally notifying Big Motoring World of my intention to reject the Nissan Qashqai due to the brake issue, I received a further response directly from a Senior Manager.
Their response confirms in writing that Big Motoring World will not assist with the vehicle repairs and will not accept the rejection of the vehicle. They have also stated that a “Final Response” has been issued on behalf of the company and that my complaint is now closed.
I find this particularly concerning because, rather than helping to establish the exact cause and extent of the problem, I have had to continue investigating the vehicle myself.
I am now arranging an independent inspection and written technical report from Nissan, including measurements and the condition of the brake components, so that the actual condition of the vehicle and the extent of the problem can be properly documented.
This is after reporting the issue shortly after purchasing the vehicle and already paying for a brake inspection myself.
My experience so far is that once you have bought the car, if a problem appears, you are essentially left to deal with it yourself. You have to spend your own time and money investigating and proving what is wrong, while the seller simply refuses the rejection and closes the complaint.
I will keep all correspondence, reports, photographs and evidence. Once I have the independent technical report from Nissan, I will continue with the appropriate escalation of my complaint through the relevant independent dispute resolution process.
Update made on 24/08/2026 at 10:10 AM.
1 star – Very disappointing experience at Enfield and after-sales support
I purchased a Nissan Qashqai e-POWER N-Connecta from Big Motoring World in Enfield on 6 August 2026.
Unfortunately, only a few days after purchasing the vehicle, it developed an intermittent squeaking/grinding noise from the brakes. I reported the issue almost immediately and opened a complaint with Big Assist under reference 811338.
I was asked to have the vehicle inspected by Halfords. Halfords confirmed that the front brakes were noisy (squealing) and identified the front brake pads and fitting kit as requiring attention.
Despite this, Big Motoring World have refused to assist, relying on the fact that the brakes were recorded as an “advisory”. I have also requested to reject the vehicle, but this has been refused.
What I find particularly disappointing is that I have effectively been told that I have bought a used car and that this is simply something I should accept.
I would also like to mention , who handled my complaint and issued the final response, , who was involved in the earlier handling of the matter. I have tried to cooperate throughout the process, but I feel my concerns have not been properly addressed.
I also requested cancellation of the additional warranty/cover I purchased with the vehicle. This request was made clearly to , but it was not even addressed in final complaint response.
My advice to anyone considering buying from Big Motoring World would be to take particular care when purchasing from the Enfield branch and carefully check exactly what additional warranty/cover you are being offered and what it actually provides.
I have previously bought vehicles from other Big Motoring World locations and have not experienced problems like this, so my criticism is specifically based on my experience with this purchase and the way this particular case has been handled.
I am now arranging a full independent inspection at a Nissan dealership so that Nissan can establish and document exactly what condition the vehicle is in and identify any faults or defects.
Once I have the Nissan report, I will be taking the matter to The Motor Ombudsman and, if necessary, considering further legal action.
This review is based on my actual experience
Complaint reference: 811338
Based on my experience with this particular purchase and the after-sales handling, I would not currently recommend buying a vehicle from Enfield
